Much of the building is newly refurbished - the lounges and coffee lounge to an exceptional standard. Residents' ensuite rooms are clean and comfortable. Medication distribution is efficient. Activities for residents are very varied and occur most days. The choice of food offered at mealtimes could
be improved, but this, I am sure, will occur now that a new chef has been appointed. The food is hot and nicely cooked. The staff are very friendly and respect the dignity of those residents they are caring for. I recommend Ledbury Nursing Home to anyone needing a short or longer stay.

Orchard House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Since our cousin became a resident in Orchard House following an illness and no longer able to live at home he is making good progress with his diet, mobility and other daily tasks. This progress is only as a result of the wonderful care he is receiving at Orchard House. He has had to endure the most
horrendous experience from his family but the support he has and still is receiving from the staff is amazing. He has had to endure so much which at times was overwhelming for him but he has been so very fortunate to have the constant backing and support of staff who take the time to listen to him. This to us is invaluable as we live so far away but know that he is being so lovingly cared for. It is so good to see how far he has progressed and that is all due to the wonderful care he is receiving. We will never be able to thank the staff enough for everything they have done and continue to do for him. Bless you all.
Reply from Michelle Orris, home manager at Orchard HouseThank you for your heartfelt review. We are truly pleased to hear your cousin is making such good progress at Orchard House and that he feels supported, listened to and well cared for by our team. Your kind words about the staff mean a great deal, and we are grateful for your appreciation of the care and support provided.

My mum came into Ledbury Nursing Home for 2 weeks respite and from the first call I made to the home mum felt the level of care was excellent from the nursing staff, the carers and administration staff. My mum was looked after with care and concern, and at all times she was listened to. Such was the
high level of care my mum has decided to move full time into the home.
Reply from Jane Pye, Home Manager at Ledbury Nursing HomeThank you for your kind review. We are delighted to hear that your mum received excellent care at Ledbury Nursing Home and felt listened to and well supported by all our teams. It is wonderful that this positive experience led to her choosing to stay long term. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

My aunt moved into Orchard House last year and is very happy. The team made her feel welcome and worked closely with her whilst she settled in. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers who go out of their way to support my aunt.

When visiting, we are always made to feel welcome and offered a cuppa.

Residents can participate in a range of activities including bingo, crafts, gentle exercises and a visiting musician singing and playing instruments.

Orchard House is spotlessly clean and homely. It feels light and airy and is set in a pretty garden with shrubs , flowers and lots of seating areas. The garden is secure for residents to visit and enjoy.

Overall, a fantastic care home.

Reply from Michelle Orris, Home Manager at Orchard HouseThank you for your lovely review. Mum had to go to Orchard House for respite, she settled in quite quickly. Some of the staff were very good with her and she liked them. Not really much to do with home but she was on a mostly male floor so not much interaction with them. She helped do the wiping up. When she moved on the staff seemed
genuinely sad to see her go. Overall she enjoyed being there.
Reply from Michelle Orris, Home Manager at Orchard HouseThank you for your review. We are pleased to hear your mum settled in quickly at Orchard House and that she enjoyed her stay. My mother spent just over 2 years in Orchard House, and during that time she was looked after by a wonderful team, who not only catered to her Dementia needs, but actually found the time to show interest in her life, her hobbies etc, and also offered friendship rather than just nursing care. I cannot
praise the staff highly enough, always welcoming myself and other family members during our weekly visits, and keeping us informed of any changes to Mum's health immediately they occurred. An exceptional service provided by all, and especially Michelle, who manages the home, and whose support has been so valued throughout Mum's stay.

Everyone is so nice kind and gentle and very attentive interacting with the residents

I am very surprised and not happy that the staff don't get any free meals which I think they deserve it very much without their dedication there won't be anyone looking after the residents at least once or twice

a week as an incentive to get other staff interested in joining and working there

The home is beautifully kept, with comfortable communal areas and personal touches throughout that create a sense of warmth, familiarity, and dignity for everyone who lives there.
What makes this care home especially special is the genuine sense of community. Residents are encouraged to feel settled
and independent while always knowing support is close at hand. Daily life is unhurried and peaceful, allowing residents to enjoy their routines and socialise comfortably.
The staff are truly exceptional and are without doubt the heart of the home. Every member of the team shows outstanding kindness, patience, and compassion in everything they do. They take the time to get to know each resident as an individual, treating everyone with respect, dignity, and genuine warmth. It is clear that the care provided goes far beyond basic needs, they go the extra mile for the residents.

My wife has Alzheimer's, and I needed to go to have a planning session before starting radiation treatment.
I thought it would be better for her to be in a safe community while I was there.
I arranged a one day and night visit and was relieved that it was possible for her to be looked after for
about 25 hours or so.
She seemed quite happy when I collected her the following day.

My 95 year old father went into full time care at Ledbury in May 2025 after 3 months of assessment. During that time he has thrived and is really enjoying time in his new home. There are times, as expected, when he has a bad day but overall he is happy, contented and full of praise for the staff. More
recently he has thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment where he fully participates in events. My family are absolutely delighted with the progress he is making and are eternally grateful to those that provide the care and look after him every day.

I cannot recommend Ledbury Nursing Home highly enough. My father received the highest quality care from all the staff without exception, and my mother was shown such wonderful respect and compassion whenever she visited, which was daily throughout the 4 months. His room, the facilities and the communal
areas were excellent, always clean and well supplied. The staff were always so approachable and friendly and always reacted timely and efficiently whenever we needed anything.
Initially the layout of the room was a little awkward, with the TV positioned behind him, but this was later resolved and is only a very minor remark. Unfortunately, due to his condition, my father was unable to join in any of the activities, but when we visited we were always made to feel welcome and invited to join if we wanted to, all serving to make us feel very much a part of loving community within the home.
Reply from Jane Pye, Home Manager at Ledbury Nursing HomeThank you so much for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear that both your father and mother felt well cared for and respected during his stay. It's great to know the facilities and staff met your expectations, and we appreciate your feedback on the room layout - we're glad we could address that.
