It all began back in May 2026 when my Dad was assessed at home by 2 amazing Lancum House nurses with a view to some short term respite care. They were understanding and totally sympathetic to his needs and within days we were able to get Dad a comfortable room onsite where he could be looked after...
It all began back in May 2026 when my Dad was assessed at home by 2 amazing Lancum House nurses with a view to some short term respite care. They were understanding and totally sympathetic to his needs and within days we were able to get Dad a comfortable room onsite where he could be looked after 24/7 and his particular care needs met. Roll on 3 months and he is now a permanent resident and I'm reassured that he is in the best possible place !

My sister moved into Lancum House Wellingborough in December 2025 on a short term basis. I needed to see how she would manage in a new environment. She has dementia and was adamant she wanted to remain at home. In February we agreed she would move in permanently and has settled extremely well. She...
My sister moved into Lancum House Wellingborough in December 2025 on a short term basis. I needed to see how she would manage in a new environment. She has dementia and was adamant she wanted to remain at home. In February we agreed she would move in permanently and has settled extremely well. She needs support in many ways and encouragement to take part in care home activities. I visit weekly for a few days and find she is well looked after, enjoys the food and takes part in different activities after a bit of persuasion. She is happy generally and despite communication difficulties likes the staff who keep her well cared for. Her diet has improved and the home seeks out items she needs for her diabetes. She has regular medical monitoring and seems in better shape than she was at home. On my visits I'm always welcomed and have got to know the people she sees regularly. It's a warm, friendly and competent atmosphere and my sister appreciates it.

My mother has been with the establishment for two years now, and I can honestly say I have no faults with the home. The carers are amazing, they are approachable and eager to help. When asking questions they will take time to put your mind at ease and if they cant answer they will put themselves out to find out the answer.
I feel blessed my mum is a resident in Lancum house and relaxed to know my mum is in safe hands.
I see how happy she is and if my mum is happy then so am I.

My mum has been at Lancum House for two years. Staff are always welcoming and aware of how difficult it is for families to not have their loved ones at home anymore. Nneka and Anita are always there with a supportive hug if we need one and Dominic, Jane and Amanda are always so helpful as are all of the staff. the staff are kind and treat mum with dignity and respect. lancum's dementia care is personalised to what mum needs. The staff run activities and have singers in to entertain the residents which keeps them motivated and there is always something going on. The staff communicate clearly with families, and there is a real sense of community. It's a place where residents are respected and supported,. We are really happy with Lancum House and would recommend it.

The home is always very clean. The Famileo News Gazette is a fantastic idea. They take them to Dementia choir every week.

We picked Lancum House because of the overall feel of the place, the relaxed, but professional nature of the place and the number of smiles we saw.
My mum previously visited a day centre each week - which she loved; she comes alive around people. I see the same light in her eyes when I visit her at Lancum House.
The staff are lovely. One time I noted that someone had done something nice with my mum's hair - it's those little things.

The app is just so brilliant , mum really enjoys looking through the photos in her printed Gazette each week with Jackie and Charlotte. I have just prepared Gazette No 130 for my mum this week! A trip down memory lane for everyone.

I love the way all residents are included in all activities,Not just a selected few.
The garden is absoulty brillaint and tailored to all the residents needs plant beds they can reach so they do not have to bend down.
I know staff have to deal with unexpected difficult situations which I have observed upon my visits and love the way staff dealt with the situation calmly swiftly yet being repectful considerate to all residents.

Our mother has been at Lancum House for three years. We visit regularly and are always made to feel welcome.
As our mother's needs have increased, we have found the care has been increased without us having to request it.
The staff are super heroes: warm, friendly, respectful and very person centred to each individual. They sometimes have to deal with unexpected or difficult situations but remain calm and caring. Many of the staff have worked there long term.
The home is always clean and safe. We love the layout and the garden. There are lots of well planned activities for residents to join in should they wish, with support and gentle encouragement if needed.
As our mother's needs have increased, we have found the care has been increased without us having to request it.
The staff are super heroes: warm, friendly, respectful and very person centred to each individual. They sometimes have to deal with unexpected or difficult situations but remain calm and caring. Many of the staff have worked there long term.

Every caregiver I have met has left their worries at the door and has a consistently cheerful disposition even when nearing the end of their 12-hour shift. Every caregiver I have met has left their worries at the door and has a consistently cheerful disposition even when nearing the end of their 12-hour shift. This shows me that their energy comes from true kindness, compassion and love of caring for the residents. Even when some of the residents with dementia lash out verbally or physically, they are handled firmly but with terms of endearment like 'sweetheart', 'my love', 'my darling' as they calm the resident. A sense of ownership is given to the residents. Once, mum felt peckish at 4.30 am and went to the kitchen where she was given cornflakes! I like that although mum is encouraged to join in activities, she is never forced. When I phone from my residence in Vancouver to get on Messenger with mum, the staff stop their duties and kindly arrange it for me so I feel in constant touch with her. What most assures me that this home is best for mum is the big smile she has for each carer and the fact that she looks 20 years younger.

My mother has been a resident at Lancum House for two months. From the very first visit to view the home i have really appreciated how friendly, helpful and professional everyone has been.
Mum was made to feel very welcome right from the start and is happy to call Lancum her home. Her social interaction has improved immeasurably through her involvement with the many activities organised for the residents. She has enjoyed bingo, gardening, pizza making, cake decorating, morning exercise, choir practice, a pub visit and a variety of singers who have performed at the home and the list goes on.
After living at home on her own for so long and no longer driving, moving to Lancum, where she is in a much safer environment, with help when she needs it has given her a new lease of life and she seems much happier for it.

When my mum was diagnosed with dementia, it was one of the hardest times for our family. Finding a place where she would be safe, understood, and genuinely cared for felt overwhelming - until we found this care home.
From day one, I knew this was the right place. The staff are incredible. They don't just do their jobs - they treat every resident with dignity, patience, and real kindness. My mum isn't just another name on a care plan; they've taken the time to get to know her, to understand her routines, her moods, and even the little things that make her feel more like herself.
The environment is warm and calm, and it feels like a true home. There are always activities going on to keep residents engaged, whether it's music, arts and crafts, or just a supporting her to go in the garden. But most importantly, there's genuine respect and compassion in every interaction.

Over the years, care work has changed massively but the roots of it remain the same and that is making sure our lovely residents are happy and safe, here at Lancum House that is just what we do, we are like one big happy family.
