Thank you all on behalf of myself and my family for the care and dedication that you have shown whilst caring for my mother. All the staff from the carers to caterers to cleaners and managers all work incredibly hard to ensure a safe and caring environment for the residents and my mother. The love the
staff showed to my mother was truly touching and genuine. The smile and look in my mother's eyes told me the trust she had for all the staff caring for her. Thank you so much for giving Linda such a wonderful three weeks.

Every time I call to see my friend the staff are all very nice. Before COVID I was able to make a drink which was no trouble for the staff.

When my Mum needed permanent residential care I didn’t know where to start, however, Lancum House was recommended to me by two trusted people as being a lovely care home.
When we first went to see Lancum House we were pleasantly surprised by the nice feeling that we got and the warm welcome that we
received from the lovely staff.
It is a light, bright and colourful care home with lots of different areas for the residents, and daily activities to get involved with should the person wish. It also has a lovely garden and outside space that you can see from all areas and spend time in.
The staff are so caring and ensure that communication with your family member is easy with arranging visits or a daily Skype so that you feel well connected.
This is a very well managed and maintained care home with the resident's welfare at the very heart of it. Thank you all so much for the care that you give I feel reassured that Mum is safe and well cared for.

The care my nan receives is wonderful, I can’t thank the staff enough for everything they do for my nan and the peace of mind it gives me, especially as I live so far away.

I am very happy here and well looked after. The staff are pleasant and polite and always give any help requested. They also respect any requests for privacy. The food supplied is plentiful and varied. There is a choice of three main courses.
The cleaners do a good job, both in one's room and also
the adjoining bathroom. The corridors are likewise clean and well lit. The laundry service is also good. The beds are very comfortable.

The team at Lancum House were so welcoming from the moment my grandma stepped through the door! She has felt safe and happy, which is what we wanted as a family; we can’t thank them enough. The care team in the Redwell unit have been particularly fantastic, my Grandma has given her particular favourites
special names, these two careers cannot be faulted and we are so grateful to them both for all they do!

The first 2 months weren't very good, but after Mum came out of hospital the care got better. There could be more communication between family and management.

My mum was a resident at Lancum for 4 years, until she sadly passed away 3.2.20. In that time she was always treated with such dignity, great care and wonderful kindness etc Mum was very contented there. We never had cause to be concerned about her care. The staff from laundry, domestic carers, hairdressers
etc were all wonderful. When mum was at the end of life everyone at Lancum were so thoughtful and respectful, they all supported us as a family throughout the dreadful time.

My mother spent her last 6 months in Lancum House before succumbing eventually to cancer. During her stay, both she and the family were treated with respect and dignity and in a most caring way in some very difficult covid pandemic months. Mum was made comfortable and happy with excellent caring staff
throughout. It was difficult for her in lockdown, but the staff made it as good as possible. We were so grateful that she was in such a good place with genuine care in her last days. Thank you to all and very well done.

I have visited Lancum House for over 15 years as a Church visitor. The layout is very pleasant and I have found the staff friendly and welcoming.

I like the homely atmosphere of the home and the staff are always helpful. In these difficult times, it has been very comforting and useful to speak to my sister on the telephone whenever I have contacted the home. My experience of the home is somewhat limited as we do not live locally and visiting
is restricted, but I am pleased that my sister has been encouraged to participate in some of the activities. In the beginning, it would have been useful to have information stating what is and what is not provided for residents.

Mum has been living at Lancum for about 18 months now. At first it was a difficult transition for her, she soon settled in and loves all the carers, gets involved with the activities, praises the food and is very settled. My experience with the staff at Lancum is that they work hard to keep the residents
happy and clean, with a gentle approach. The laundry service can be second to none and the food is tasty and varied, with little treats included. The residents are treated with respect and make their own decisions when it is appropriate. The entertainment is just right, the Activities Champion is very dedicated, and this was something we noticed when we first looked for mum's move to a care home. Her priority was obviously the residents. If there is ever an issue with health it is always dealt with promptly and appropriately. We are extremely happy with our experience to date. Thanks to everyone involved.

We found the whole quality of care given to our mum exemplary. The kindness, diligence understanding and empathy of all the staff, given, at all times was hugely appreciated by our family and is a real credit to Lancum House. Nothing is ever too much trouble would best summarise their philosophy.

I started at Lancum as a support worker and through great training and support have worked my way up the ladder with lots of hard work and determination. I have many years of experience in care in different roles.


Here at Lancum House, we work very hard to ensure the home is welcoming and a hive of activity. Lancum House is a bright homely place full of compassion, laughter and fulfilment.


We put our Residents at the centre of all care and make sure residents and families are involved in all aspects of care planning. We believe we are guests within the resident’s home and provide the upmost of dignity and respect.

I have worked at Lancum House for many years and enjoyed every second of it. We have a fantastic team who go above and beyond to make people happy and content.


We have many staff that have worked here for a long time and continue to enjoy it. Lancum House is a lively warm home, we promote independence with dignity and respect, our resident’s happiness is very important to us all and we work hard to have just that.
