Very pleased with the care and support given to mom. She is always very clean and presentable and obviously well looked after. The home itself is always spotless and never smells. The staff are exemplary. Would recommend this home to anyone wishing the best for their loved one.

As my mum has an eating disorder the staff are always trying to get her to eat more. They took time to prepare what she likes. They keep me informed of my mum's progress and any concerns they may have so we can discuss any changes which need to be put into place.

It was never going to be an easy or comfortable decision to admit Mum into care. A chain of events over the previous six months left us having to really consider it. One with Mum being diagnosed with Alzheimer's and came into Lancum House on respite after Dad had to be admitted to hospital also. We
had nothing to worry about. The staff and carers at Lancum are amazing and very engaging. Almost a second extended family in fact. They undertake inclusive events such as bingo, dance and singing, exercise and crafting sessions. I was surprised when I found out they also arrange weekly trips. One such trip is to take part in a weekly dementia choir event where a few care homes meet up sing and dance. Truly amazing and extremely therapeutic. Mum is very well looked after and made to feel safe and valued.

I cannot praise Lancum House Care Home and all the staff enough, you are all worth your weight in gold. With my mum having to come in for respite care in January after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s last year and my dad being in hospital for the last six weeks, it has been such a difficult time for
us all as a family and knowing mum is being very well looked after is such a relief for us all. We all try and visit and spend time with her as much as we can and I can honestly say all the staff and the home are fantastic. Thank you all so much for the great work you do.

Nothing is too much for the staff here, they are all smiley and friendly, and very welcoming whenever I go to visit my nan, hot drinks are offered to me, and they take the time to listen to any concerns that I have and any questions I have. My nan always looks clean and tidy, a real. My nan is treated
as an individual and is included in any activity they have. Nothing is too much and the staff all go above and beyond for everyone in their care. As I walk through the building to my nan's room it is always clean, smells clean and nice, everywhere is tidy, and all the staff seem to work together. Even the residents give you a wave or a hello as you walk past. It really is a happy home and the atmosphere is lovely.

My mum spent the last seven months in the care home and she received an exceptional level of care. The staff were very friendly, compassionate and caring. They made my mum's stay a pleasure. The care they provided was excellent. She grew a special bond with all of the lovely staff and thoroughly enjoyed
the activities they had and the food was lovely. My mum was sad to leave and still misses the staff. Thank you.

This will be a short review. I have found the staff at Lancum House extremely caring and helpful. My husband has never been in the care system and it is my first experience. I was dreading this but when we arrived at Lancum House all my apprehensions just disappeared. My husband settled very quickly
and seems to be fine. Yesterday's activities with small animals was brilliant. All in all twenty out of ten!

Lancum House has not only become my granddad's home, but he’s told me they feel just like family! This made me feel so joyful knowing he’s happy and being well looked after. From the moment we first walked in and met the staff here, we knew this was the perfect place for my grandad, and it is! My grandad
enjoys the activities they provide, even though it took him a while to get involved, the staff helped encourage him to join in and he’s now made some lovely friends. It’s great hearing him laugh about the day he’s had. Thank you to everyone at Lancum House! You are all amazing!

Mum is continually receiving great care in Lancum House although with her V Dementia she does not fully understand this. The staff are always accommodating and go beyond to make her stay as pleasant as possible and it is hard for them at times.

Was a little unsure when my grandfather was moved to Lancum House from another Shaw Healthcare home purely due to how already unsettled he was in a care environment. Little did I know how much the move would benefit him for the better and has ultimately been a blessing in disguise. He has come on leaps
and bounds in Lancum House and I believe this is purely to do with the staff and care he is provided with. All of the staff are fabulous, they can't do enough for him and other residents and nothing seems too much trouble. The activities lady encourages him to participate in events which is great to see and the family love to see his updates through the app each week. A big thank you to all of the staff at Lancum House - we can't thank you enough for the care and compassion you show my grandfather. If there is anything that we can do to say thank you by helping the care home in whatever way needed, then please just ask.

My husband's uncle came to Lancum House two weeks ago after a two weeks stay in the hospital. Right from our first visit to Lancum House, we were all made to feel very welcome from each and every member of the staff team. From what we have experienced so far, everyone goes above and beyond their duties
to make their residents part of their own special family. We are sure that our uncle will be very happy here and certainly very well looked after.

My nan was a resident at Lancum House for just over two years and throughout her time there I was very impressed by how the home is run.
The staff are fantastic and I have observed them both with my nan and other residents, showing kindness and compassion.
There are various activities run that provide
stimulation and also social interaction.
The home also involves families and friends by holding garden parties etc.
The staff at the home don't feel like staff but in fact part of the family.
I cannot fault them.
One memory I will always hold is the fuss that was made of my nan on her birthday.
Banners and balloons were put up in and around her room, and cakes were made.
Simple touches yet made a massive impact.
Whilst Covid did play a part in restricting visiting, I was reassured that my nan was receiving the best care.

I cannot fault this care home. All the care staff are extraordinary. The Manager and the staff have all gone above and beyond to support and settle my mum into this home. They have treated my mum with kindness and respect.

I have worked at Lancum House since 2011. I am the deputy manager at Lancum House.


I started at Lancum as a support worker and through great training and support have worked my way up the ladder with lots of hard work and determination. I have many years of experience in care in different roles.


Here at Lancum House, we work very hard to ensure the home is welcoming and a hive of activity. Lancum House is a bright homely place full of compassion, laughter and fulfilment.


We put our Residents at the centre of all care and make sure residents and families are involved in all aspects of care planning. We believe we are guests within the resident’s home and provide the upmost of dignity and respect.

I have worked at Lancum House for many years and enjoyed every second of it. Over the years, care work has changed massively but the roots of it remain the same and that is making sure our lovely residents are happy and safe, here at Lancum House that is just what we do, we are like one big happy family. We have a fantastic team who go above and beyond to make people happy and content.


We have many staff that have worked here for a long time and continue to enjoy it. Lancum House is a lively warm home, we promote independence with dignity and respect, our resident’s happiness is very important to us all and we work hard to have just that.
