Knellwood originally opened as a memorial to local servicemen and servicewomen who gave their lives in the Second World War and, as both a residential and nursing home, aims to have a positive impact on the lives of those in Farnborough with care needs.

The Home is run by a non-profit making charity called the 'Farnborough (War Memorial) Housing Society Ltd’. It is run by a Board of Management with a Manager providing day-to-day control. It offers a homely atmosphere, comfortable accommodation, excellent food and a 24-hour care service.

Knellwood is a large Victorian country house with two newer wings set in a delightful garden with several acres of lawn and woodland.

Where possible, Residents may bring small items of furniture and personal effects to place in their accommodation.

My father moved into Knellwood in December 2017. The kindness and friendliness of the staff helped him to settle in quickly. Family and visitors are warmly welcomed. The welcoming atmosphere creates a homely yet professional atmosphere. Staff got to know Dad quickly and really treat him as an individual.
They have responded to his changing needs. It is always a pleasure to visit. The range of activities has increased hugely in the past few months since 2 Activity Coordinators are now in post. Now the weather is improving, residents, staff and visitors are making good use of the beautiful grounds and terraces. There are continual improvements happening at Knellwood, currently building works to ensure fit-for-purpose workspace for nurses and care staff. I'm really pleased we chose Knellwood for Dad.

I have started volunteering with the activity coordinators, for example last session we made soaps, bath bombs and body cream with the residents. All residents seemed to be enjoying the activities with many laughs and smiles. Staff were extremely enthusiastic, encouraging and kind. All needs of the
residents were catered for through my sessions, with particular care for their welfare.
