Overall Experience

I came to Knellwood because of my very poor sight, at the age of 96 and living alone I didn't want my family to worry. I'm very independent except for my sight that stops me going out alone. I spoke to the general manager and he arranged for activity staff to take me out, which helped me settle. The staff and manager, especially the general manager, have great humour. They are very caring and responsive to our needs. If you sneeze you are surrounded by carers or nurses. The care is excellent. We have a varied diet, with lots of choice, covering our needs of fats, carbohydrate and protein. The food is good and they always find something to your taste. When I go out with activity staff it's like being with a friend I trust. I would highly recommend this home.

Excellently run by very friendly staff from management to cleaners. Very well organised activities and outings. I feel very lucky that we were able to find a room for my mother at Knellwood after contacting and viewing some 14 homes.

I find all the staff friendly and polite.
The care home is always clean and tidy.
The residents' rooms are always kept nice and the grounds too.
The care is excellent for the residents - health and social wise.

My overall view of this care home is excellent.

When we arrived to visit we were asked if we had had lunch - we said no and were immediately offered lunch and a coffee which came with a huge smile. Thank you so much for looking after us and hospitality.

Now ready to drive back to Worthing.

We would like to highly recommend Knellwood nursing home. My mum has been there for six weeks, and she has made some friends and all the carers, medical staff and ladies who run the activities are all really nice and friendly.

Overall Experience

My father moved into Knellwood in December 2017. The kindness and friendliness of the staff helped him to settle in quickly. Family and visitors are warmly welcomed. The welcoming atmosphere creates a homely yet professional atmosphere. Staff got to know Dad quickly and really treat him as an individual. They have responded to his changing needs. It is always a pleasure to visit. The range of activities has increased hugely in the past few months since 2 Activity Coordinators are now in post. Now the weather is improving, residents, staff and visitors are making good use of the beautiful grounds and terraces. There are continual improvements happening at Knellwood, currently building works to ensure fit-for-purpose workspace for nurses and care staff. I'm really pleased we chose Knellwood for Dad.

Overall Experience

I have started volunteering with the activity coordinators, for example last session we made soaps, bath bombs and body cream with the residents. All residents seemed to be enjoying the activities with many laughs and smiles. Staff were extremely enthusiastic, encouraging and kind. All needs of the residents were catered for through my sessions, with particular care for their welfare.
