My mother spent her last 15 months in Knellwood. She was looked after by wonderfully dedicated carers and nurses. She definitely felt it was her home and they were her friends.

She was encouraged to take up knitting again, do exercises and go on outings. She loved the food and often commented how good the chef was. She received excellent medical care. I too was always made so welcome and felt part of Knellwood's family.

Clean, welcoming and caring of the residents. Varied activity programme, excellent food choice at all 3 meals per day. Good selection of drinks between meals. Good variety of entertainment to appeal to all abilities. Nice outdoor areas which can be used in the summer and even Guy Fawkes night! Photo's put up of residents for families to take. Phone access 1 day our of 7.

This is by far a really great care home.
My mum has been here now for four and a half years. The staff are lovely and treat everyone like family. Fabulous food, care to Mum is excellent and always something going on, ie Bonfire night, Quizz nights, Christmas Faire for everyone to enjoy.

For the residents, lots of in house shows and things always going on. Our sister-in-law's mum has now joined my mum at Knellwood, also our friend's mum is there. It's an excellent care home.

We recently attended 'afternoon tea' at Knellwood with a variety of sandwiches, scones, cream and jam and plenty of cakes! There was a singer who was extremely good and made for a very relaxing atmosphere. I believe there were 90 guests plus the residents. The activities team are to be congratulated on their continued work in making Knellwood such a nice place to live.

A very caring home, aware of individuals needs. Very welcoming to relatives. My mother was able to have her children, grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with her to celebrate her 97th birthday. It was amazing. I have also accompanied my mother on outings which are enjoyed by all and well organised. There is usually something going on to entertain and involve the residents. The decorating and planting containers with flowers was good fun and they look fabulous.

Knellwood was home to my beloved grandfather for the last 3 months of his life. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly, caring and professional. The environment is clean and organised, without seeming clinical and the grounds are attractive and well cared for. My grandfather was treated respectfully by well-trained staff who always had a smile and a kind word for him. My parents visited daily and were made to feel welcome too. I would highly recommend Knellwood to anyone looking for care for their loved ones.

I can't say enough good things about this place. We visit dad every day. The people who work here must be hand-picked, so caring and patient. The food is excellent and there is never a dull moment as far as activities and outings go. The place is magic and I would love to think the last chapter of my life was spent here.

I have been at Knellwood since the beginning of October 2017. I felt welcomed into the home. I have a lovely room overlooking the garden. The food is good and the home is kept to an excellent standard. I enjoy being in the committee and being given the opportunity to voice my opinions and to be told these opinions are valued. For activities, I join in with the quiz morning and enjoy the gardening and trips out. The trips are well organised, enjoyable and I always feel safe.

After my mother being cared for and spending 4 happy years at Knellwood, I decided to become part of the Companions Team to raise funds for the wonderful outings and activities the home provides for their residents. The staff are so friendly and welcoming whenever we return to Knellwood and they remember my dear mum well.

This is a charity home run on a very stringent budget and is our towns war memorial. Many local people have a great interest in the home and it has lots of outside visitors. All this provides a very caring and family atmosphere in the home. The staff ar every kind and attentive and residents are encouraged to carry on with crafts and other activities to keep them interested in life.

I am so pleased that we chose Knellwood as a care home for our mum. Mum has been in their care now for about a year and she is looked after so well. I have taken friends to visit and they all remark that Knellwood is one of the best care homes in the area.
A special mention to the activities coordinators. They both work so hard to provide stimulating activities for the residents. All relatives are welcome and Knellwood has become a family home atmosphere.

Finally, I must mention all staff who are all extremely kind and caring. We could not ask for more for our much loved mum.

My father became a resident of Knellwood in October 2018 after an eight-week stay in hospital, during which time his health deteriorated. Since moving to there his health and wellbeing have improved beyond all expectations. From day one the staff insisted on getting him dressed and taking him downstairs for mealtimes and activities every day. He enjoys the food prepared by the kitchen staff, thankfully has gained weight, the sores on his feet have vanished and the low blood pressure he suffered from has been eradicated. This is all due to the excellent level of care he has received from the fantastic staff at Knellwood. The medical care is first-rate, and visits from physiotherapists, dentists, doctors and opticians have all been organised by the staff to improve all aspects of his health. All these factors have combined to have a hugely positive impact on his mental health and emotional wellbeing, and he is happy to be living there.

Knellwood was chosen because my husband's father was a resident and the care and attention have not changed over the years. My mother has been there now for six months and it has changed her outlook for the better, with being with people her own age and the many trips which the home provide. All the activities keep them busy and alert. Medical care if and when needed is excellent.
