Knellwood originally opened as a memorial to local servicemen and servicewomen who gave their lives in the Second World War and, as both a residential and nursing home, aims to have a positive impact on the lives of those in Farnborough with care needs.

The Home is run by a non-profit making charity called the 'Farnborough (War Memorial) Housing Society Ltd’. It is run by a Board of Management with a Manager providing day-to-day control. It offers a homely atmosphere, comfortable accommodation, excellent food and a 24-hour care service.

Knellwood is a large Victorian country house with two newer wings set in a delightful garden with several acres of lawn and woodland.

Where possible, Residents may bring small items of furniture and personal effects to place in their accommodation.

I can't say enough good things about this place. We visit dad every day. The people who work here must be hand-picked, so caring and patient. The food is excellent and there is never a dull moment as far as activities and outings go. The place is magic and I would love to think the last chapter of my
life was spent here.

I have been at Knellwood since the beginning of October 2017. I felt welcomed into the home. I have a lovely room overlooking the garden. The food is good and the home is kept to an excellent standard. I enjoy being in the committee and being given the opportunity to voice my opinions and to be told
these opinions are valued. For activities, I join in with the quiz morning and enjoy the gardening and trips out. The trips are well organised, enjoyable and I always feel safe.

After my mother being cared for and spending 4 happy years at Knellwood, I decided to become part of the Companions Team to raise funds for the wonderful outings and activities the home provides for their residents. The staff are so friendly and welcoming whenever we return to Knellwood and they remember

This is a charity home run on a very stringent budget and is our towns war memorial. Many local people have a great interest in the home and it has lots of outside visitors. All this provides a very caring and family atmosphere in the home. The staff ar every kind and attentive and residents are encouraged
to carry on with crafts and other activities to keep them interested in life.

I am so pleased that we chose Knellwood as a care home for our mum. Mum has been in their care now for about a year and she is looked after so well. I have taken friends to visit and they all remark that Knellwood is one of the best care homes in the area.
A special mention to the activities coordinators.
They both work so hard to provide stimulating activities for the residents. All relatives are welcome and Knellwood has become a family home atmosphere.
Finally, I must mention all staff who are all extremely kind and caring. We could not ask for more for our much loved mum.

My father became a resident of Knellwood in October 2018 after an eight-week stay in hospital, during which time his health deteriorated. Since moving to there his health and wellbeing have improved beyond all expectations. From day one the staff insisted on getting him dressed and taking him downstairs
for mealtimes and activities every day. He enjoys the food prepared by the kitchen staff, thankfully has gained weight, the sores on his feet have vanished and the low blood pressure he suffered from has been eradicated. This is all due to the excellent level of care he has received from the fantastic staff at Knellwood. The medical care is first-rate, and visits from physiotherapists, dentists, doctors and opticians have all been organised by the staff to improve all aspects of his health. All these factors have combined to have a hugely positive impact on his mental health and emotional wellbeing, and he is happy to be living there.

Residents and staff are very friendly and helpful. I couldn't get over the activities they do during the week also they take them on days out and have people in to entertain them. Relatives are also included to join in if they wish to.

From my first impressions of the home, I found that it is a warm and friendly environment for my grandmother to spend her latter years in. I feel that everyone in the home (staff and residents) are warm and friendly and are always willing to help and listen. I am very impressed with the activities that

Knellwood was chosen because my husband's father was a resident and the care and attention have not changed over the years. My mother has been there now for six months and it has changed her outlook for the better, with being with people her own age and the many trips which the home provide. All the
activities keep them busy and alert. Medical care if and when needed is excellent.

I came to Knellwood because of my very poor sight, at the age of 96 and living alone I didn't want my family to worry. I'm very independent except for my sight that stops me going out alone. I spoke to the general manager and he arranged for activity staff to take me out, which helped me settle. The
staff and manager, especially the general manager, have great humour. They are very caring and responsive to our needs. If you sneeze you are surrounded by carers or nurses. The care is excellent. We have a varied diet, with lots of choice, covering our needs of fats, carbohydrate and protein. The food is good and they always find something to your taste. When I go out with activity staff it's like being with a friend I trust. I would highly recommend this home.

When we arrived to visit we were asked if we had had lunch - we said no and were immediately offered lunch and a coffee which came with a huge smile. Thank you so much for looking after us and hospitality.

We would like to highly recommend Knellwood nursing home. My mum has been there for six weeks, and she has made some friends and all the carers, medical staff and ladies who run the activities are all really nice and friendly.
