Springfield Care Home

The process for admission was handled smoothly, including funding arrangements, keeping the family informed of developments. Staff liaised with relevant agencies/organisations including QA hospital, physiotherapy, and local GP. We have found the Springfield portal very useful to get an update of dad's progress, as well as provide messages and photos of his grandchildren, particularly during his periods of isolation. The staff were very professional, supportive and friendly when my mother-in-law passed away, and treated the family with empathy and allowed as much time with her on the day as was needed.

My Dad has been a resident for just over a year. Springfield is a home from home as much as it is possible to be. I have seen other care homes and they seem more like a private hospital. My Dad can have furniture or anything to make him feel at home in his room. The management are very helpful and approachable and are regularly seen around the home talking to the residents and staff. They genuinely seem to care. There is always a choice for meals, my Dad can have what he likes, which is important as he has dietary needs, the food is very good. Mum and I regularly have Sunday lunch with Dad and we are made to feel part of the "family". I couldn't wish for better staff they are all very caring and considerate of my Dad, nothing is too much trouble for them. The management and staff also care for us as a family knowing how upsetting it is for us not to be able to care for Dad at home. We feel included in Dad's care and know that he is in safe hands so we don't have to worry. Thank you, Springfield.

The current Covid restrictions have been handled by Springfield with such professionalism in planning that they were well ahead of their game before other homes had made arrangements. Praise well justified!

My mother spent her last week in the nursing home and we could not have wished for better care. Right from the first telephone enquiry to admission a few days later, it was clear that all staff showed a very high standard of care, compassion and concern. Nothing was too much trouble. Relatives were made to feel very welcome and our feelings and wishes are taken into account 100%. Everyone involved in my mother's care showed great professionalism and humanity.

Kind, caring and made to feel as if he belonged to a loving family as was I on every visit. Standard of nursing is very good, lots of activities to stimulate and provide interest and involvement. The food is excellent, but most of all made to feel safe and cared for. Never left alone for long periods, everywhere clean and homely. A safe and loving experience. I am very grateful to all the staff, nothing was ever to much trouble.

Springfield is a welcoming home which my aunt is happy and well cared for. She has been there for five and a half years. The staff are caring and friendly. There is a varied programme of activities. The rooms are kept clean and my aunt is happy with the food provided.

We as a family have found the staff courteous and caring when visiting and always found the atmosphere a pleasant one.

Dad has been in Springfield for nearly two years he is very happy and settled. I am very pleased with the nursing staff as dd has a lot of medical problems. He loves the menus with so much choice. The staff are very helpful and friendly to us all.

I myself was a resident for respite care last year and so have seen it from all angles.

They provide a happy, homely culture and environment which is often very touching to witness. The care workers are exceptional and take great care with each resident to create a one to one relationship. I cannot recommend high enough to anyone thinking of approaching Springfield about providing a home to their loved one - it is a special care home.

Although mum was on palliative care whilst she was there (she passed away a week after arriving) the staff were so caring towards her. Mum was treated with dignity right to the end. The home has a very homely feel with entertainment for the residents every day.

Our mother required nursing care due to terminal cancer and had complex medical needs. The care, the team at Springfield gave her was excellent. They sought medical advice to ensure that Mum received the best care for her particular illness and purchased items to enhance her care. We loved the "buzz" of enthusiasm at Springfield and were all made to feel very welcome whenever we visited. As a family, the care and support we received from the staff, at a time that was very distressing for us was outstanding.
