Conewood Manor Nursing and residential care home has been under new ownership and management for the last five years and has gained a high reputation in East Hertfordshire and beyond for outstanding care.

Nearly all bedrooms have en-suite wet rooms and there is a purpose-built extension with garden rooms.

The original part of the home is grade 2 listed and provides a comfortable, homely atmosphere.

Conewood Manor ensures that residents have all home comforts and receive outstanding care from the highly-skilled nursing, caring and professional staff.

The home prides itself on its professional and comprehensive service. There is a full range of activities to enhance the resident's well being, led by the activity team, who devise activities to meet the resident’s abilities and interests. These can include musical entertainment, yoga and personal grooming services.

There are over 50 members of permanent staff at Conewood Manor and agencies are not used. At least one fully qualified nurse is on duty at all times. There is an above-average carers to residents, as well as one or two activity staff supporting residents every day.

Wellbeing is very important in the home and therefore, ensure freshly cooked wholesome food is served every day.

My mum came to Conewood Manor in October 2019 and she was extremely poorly. With Conewood's nurturing care she survived for an additional 9 months. The staff go above and beyond for the residents (and for their family) and I can honestly say that it was their care and support that helped mum continue
with her Alzheimers journey for so much longer than expected. Every single member of staff cares and this is evident. Mum was always clean, well-fed and looked after and I cannot fault Conewood Manor. Mum sadly passed away on 30th June but whilst I was with her at the end the staff would continually ask me if I was ok or if I needed anything (even though they had all of the relatives to care for). I felt that they genuinely cared for my mum. The final act of kindness was when they all stood outside the home as mum took her last journey past them. I would recommend Conewood without a doubt to anybody looking for care for someone they love.

My father spent the last 4 years of his life in Conewood Manor. It was an extremely hard decision to put Dad into a nursing home but all the staff were wonderful and caring and could not do enough for him. Dad was always well presented and although he was unable to communicate he always enjoyed being
part of the extensive activities offered. As a family, we can not thank everyone who looked after Dad so well enough. They are a very good team and we will always be grateful for the care and respect bestowed on him.

Was able to visit my dad yesterday, his 92nd birthday. Due to Covid haven't seen him since early March. He looked so well and relaxed. He said he liked it there and had made friends and he loves the food!
Every single member of staff has been so kind and helpful both to dad and his relatives. We sat
in the beautiful rose garden, it was lovely to see dad smiling. It is such a weight off the family's mind that he is being so well looked after and is happy at Conewood Manor.

The staff and care at Conewood Manor for our Mum, who has sadly passed away now, exceeded our expectations. We so appreciate the arrangements that were made by the staff for us to spend time with our Mum in her final days. Thank you so much to the staff who cared for my Mum, they often spoke warmly
of her which gave us peace of mind knowing that she was in good hands and really well cared for.

We are very pleased to be able to highly recommend this Care Home. The dedication of the staff is second to none, a great example of this is that in the 22 months our mother was under their care, there were hardly any changes in personnel and we have to say that we have made friends for life as well.

I have nothing but praise for the quality of care that my mother received during her time a Conewood. It had been recommended by a friend, but it still exceeded my expectations. The transition was smooth and my mother was treated with such compassion and kindness by the staff that she often believed
herself to be in a top hotel. Her room was bright and attractive and there were large, airy sitting rooms in which to enjoy the wide range of activities; everything from armchair yoga to floristry. Children from the local nursery used to visit and older children played the piano or sang during impromptu concerts. The overall ambience was warm and friendly, and my mother ended her days with dignity.

My father came into your care in April 2019 after being fast-tracked for NHS continuing healthcare as he was deteriorating at a very fast pace in hospital. My father is still with us today and I can only put this down to the care that all your staff gave and still give to him on a daily basis. He has
a light in his eyes again and is enjoying life. He is treated with respect and dignity and we have just been informed that he has a permanent residence with you and myself and my family are absolutely delighted. We wish to thank everyone at Conewood Manor Nursing Home and cannot sing your praises highly enough for the care he has and will receive in the future.

This is about my sister who has spent at least 8 years in Conewood Manor with Alzheimer’s and who recently passed away. I would like to say a big thank you to the way the staff have looked after her over the years, treating her with love and dignity by day and night, where nothing was too much trouble.
The home during that time has improved in many ways, refurbished, new equipment and well managed by the latest management company.
The staff l would love to thank over her time at Conewood.

Following residence of 3 years and a 6-week stay in a hospital, I have great confidence in the ability of the staff at Conewood Manor to care for my husband.
He is going through a very difficult period at present.
I have watched the staff persuading him to eat and swallow and their patience and gentleness
are outstanding.
The nursing staff are happy to answer questions I have and are very supportive and caring to me and my family as well as my husband.
I have nothing but praise for Conewood Manor.

Conewood is absolutely brilliant, five stars.
The kindness and support shown by all staff from management downwards has been fantastic.
My father, having just spent 6 weeks in hospital after a second stroke, has been given fantastic care and support, including extended to family by all staff.

Our father was a resident in Conewood for just over 3 months until his death at the beginning of May. We wish to acknowledge the care and professionalism shown to Dad while he was a resident. He was treated with respect and kindness that made his last weeks peaceful. The management helped us tremendously
when we needed to find a suitable place for Dad when he was discharged from hospital. The nursing staff picked up his care seamlessly. I cannot praise them enough. Thank you.

We cannot express highly enough the level of care and support that our mum and our family have received whilst she was at Conewood Manor.
The staff were excellent, friendly and approachable. They all treated mum with respect and dignity, we were kept informed at all times and knew that she was being
watched constantly.
We were able to sit with her all day and drank lots of cups of tea, that were brought to us regularly.
Thank you all for making this experience bearable.

Not only do the staff at Conewood Manor Nursing Home care for my Mum who is the resident, they all care about my Dad as well when he visits. They greet him (and me) warmly by name and if we arrive at mealtimes they always give us a cup of tea and insist my Dad has a meal or tea time snack. They have
also taken his blood pressure when they thought he looked under the weather one day. Cannot fault the care and consideration that ALL staff have for them both.

Roza

Roza Gyarmati

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2014

Roza is the Deputy Manager at Conewood Manor since 2014 and is a registered nurse in the UK since 2009. She is a qualified nurse in Hungary since 2006. She provides hands-on care to patients by administering medications, observing and monitoring patients' conditions, maintaining records and communicating with a multi-disciplinary team, for example: doctors, social services, dieticians.


She leads the patient's care with the other nurses and carers in our home. She provides advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.


Roza helps create a nurturing and empathetic home with her excellent interpersonal skills. Roza helps to instil first class care for all of our residents.
