Lovely, caring staff dealt with my uncle with kindness and empathy. We were kept informed at all times and things were administered very efficiently. Thank you to all at Kite Hill for providing a safe and welcoming space for my uncle during the last few months of life.

Kitehill welcomed my dad with so much care and compassion. Dad had dementia and although he could be challenging, he was always treated with respect and dignity. Staff are so kind and professional. I chose kitehill because I had professional experience of them and I was not let down. I cannot praise
them highly enough. Dad enjoyed the meals that were provided and certainly enjoyed the desserts. Staff always greeted him with a smile and kindness. Dad could not have spent his final months in a better environment
I will always be forever grateful to each and every member of their fantastic team.

The staff at Kite Hill started looking after Dad (Harold) back at the end of Aug 25. They immediately fell in love with Dad and his little cheeky ways making him feel right at home. He would be made most welcome during their evening hand overs telling them that he was the governor, before helping
him back to his room.
They cared tirelessly for him till the very end in April 26. And even then they made sure that his room was left so nicely ready for us to take his things home.
We can not recommend Kite Hill highly enough. They are true caring people that made Dads time their a joy for him. It is the people that make a care home and these are truly a loving and caring group of people.
If in doubt, risk it and use them as you truly won't be disappointed as your loved ones become their loved ones.

Mum became a permanent resident at the home in September 2023 and remained there until she passed away in March 2026
All the staff were consistently kind and caring towards Mum. Her personal care was excellent, and the meals were always of a very high standard.
I would always receive a phone call from
the home if there were an concerns with Mum and how this was resolved.
As Mum approached the end of her life, she was always kept comfortable, clean, and treated with great dignity. The staff could not have done more for her.
Everyone at the home also cared for myself and my family when we visited. When I was upset, they always made time to talk to me and, when I needed it, offered a comforting hug. We were made to feel like part of the family.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Kite Hill Residential Home to anyone looking for a caring and supportive home for their loved one.
I would like to thank everyone at the home for looking after Mum to such a high standard at all times.

My Mum lived at Kite Hill Care Home for 5 Years. In that time the staff showed her outstanding love and care. Mum had been very happy there, she always spoke very highly of the staff and how well they looked after her. I was very impressed with the atmosphere of the home, friendly but also professional.
The home is well maintained and always fresh and clean. Though I never ate at the home, the meals I saw served to Mum always looked and smelt delicious and Mum ate a better and more varied diet than she had for years!
I can wholeheartedly recommend Kite Hill Care Home to anyone looking for care for a relative or friend.

I have a concern relating to a recent visit to my friend. I was buzzed into the premises, but left in reception for 15 minutes. When I pressed the doorbell again, no one was in reception, no staff were around, and I did not know my friend's room number. I could potentially have been anywhere in the
building all that time unsupervised. This is surely a safety risk.
Reply from Mary McLean, Director at Kite Hill Care HomeAs a small home our reception is not permanently staffed. Our door is locked and the person in charge answers the door via a mobile phone. They may have assumed that you have visited before and were not aware that you did not know where your friend's room is. Whilst this may have been frustrating for you, you would have signed in and given the name of the person you were visiting which meets our safeguarding risks whilst also supporting our residents to welcome visitors.

My husband has now been in your care for 1 year, and I would like you to know that I am very pleased with all the care he is receiving. He is now interacting in the lounge with other residents, and also has resumed doing his jigsaws, which I am very pleased about because in my opinion it is very stimulating
for him. I also like to see all the painting and things that all the residents make which they are very proud to show. The activities carer does a wonderful job for your resident as they seem to love her very much. I visit twice a week and always get a lovely welcome from all your lovely carers and other staff, which I find is very reassuring.

My mum was there for 4 weeks on end of life care. I found the staff very helpful and allowed me to visit whenever I wanted. She was always kept clean and comfortable and carers were very respectful and thoughtful. The room was small but clean, adequate, light and bright.

We didn't really know how

good the food was because unfortunately mum was at the stage where she was not eating so we can not comment.

Mum lived at Kite Hill for almost three years. We could not have asked for better care for her. Her health improved while she was there as they took such excellent care of her. So many things stood out, the standard of hygiene, the personal care, the food, the visiting GP weekly the very friendly and
caring staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were excellent at communicating any issues and we were welcome to visit or phone to see how Mum was at any time. I would highly recommend Kite Hill. The lounge has lovely views over Wootton creek and the very pretty garden. The staff really got to know Mum and knew her preferences. Despite not being a natural joiner in she came to really enjoy all the activities on offer. All I can say is she had a very happy life there and I am sure that her quality of life improved and that we wouldn't have been lucky enough to have her around for so long without the care provided by Kite Hill.

My mother was at Kite Hill for 15 months before she passed away.
She was completely immobile and reliant on the staff for everything. All the staff that we came into contact with were kind, friendly and professional.
We never worried about mum as we knew she was being well cared for and they also
kept an eye out for my dad when he visited and kindly helped him across the road to the bus stop.
I would happily recommend Kite Hill and can't Thank them enough for looking after mum until the end.

When my twin Sister and I chose The Kite care home for our 103yrs Dad, we won the lottery. Although he was only there for a very short time before he sadly passed away, he was REALLY cared for by all the staff. The best care we could have hoped for, with amazing dignity and compassion. They also cared
for us. Cups of tea, and a hug when needed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to each and every one of you. I wish I could name you, but you all know who you are.

Mum was in Kite Hill for 3 and a half years.
She had a very pleasant room with a sunny view over the decking area. She loved the food which was nicely cooked.
She initially found it hard to mix but the activities and entertainment brought her out of her shell. The activity staff are so enthusiastic.
The care staff, although very busy, were generally kind and thoughtful.
The care home definitely gave her the nearest to her own home possible.
We would definitely recommend it.

My mum became a permanent resident at Kite Hill on 1st October 2024. She settled in so quickly, better than we ever imagined, because she was immediately made to feel at home there. This is due to how wonderful all the staff are, so caring and welcoming. The manager has been there for over 15 years,
along with some of the other staff, this shows what a good home it is, consistency of staff is so important. They are like one big family. Another lady who is the activities coordinator and she is a bundle of joy! So enthusiastic and brilliant with the residents. My mum doesn't go out of her room at the moment, but the activities coordinator makes sure she sees her every day and gives her activities to do in her room. The food is amazing too, fabulous chefs! Everything is fresh and cooked from scratch. Mum says she's never had a bad meal, she really enjoys the food. The home is always spotlessly clean too. I cannot recommend it enough and neither can my dear mum.

My mum moved into Kite Hill in March 2024, I'd been caring for her on my own and we just couldn't manage by ourselves anymore. From the moment I knocked on their door, they couldn't have been kinder to me and my mum. The staff are absolute angels, they really do care for the residents and it shows.
My
mum has a lovely room and her own toilet, I bought her in lots of little things that make her room more homely and familiar.
The food is all home-cooked and fresh, my mum enjoys it.
I visit most days and spend a lot of time there, the level of patience and understanding they show every single day is amazing, not only to my mum but also to me, if I'm upset or struggling they're always really kind.
Everyone from the lovely lady at reception, all the carers, the maintenance man, the cleaners, and the chefs all go above and beyond. Me and my mum are very grateful to each and every one, we love them all. Thank you Kite Hill.

The care my mum received at Kite Hill was amazing, so kind caring and supportive.
My mum spent 2 years at the home, it helped in providing the support she needed.
Also their kindness towards me as her daughter, nothing was too much trouble, they would always listen to any concerns.
A wonderful

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.729)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.729) out of 10 for Kite Hill Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.829 for Kite Hill Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (167 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 193 Ratings = 4.829
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kite Hill Care Home is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
