Mum's care was exemplary. For the last week she received palliative care, she was clean, comfortable and had the most peaceful death. Her room was lovely and my sister and I were confident and pleased to place Mum in St. Michael's.
My mother was in the home for 9 years. In all that time we have not one single compaint. All of the staff are friendly and the care mum received and support to the family was amazing. I would highly recommend St Michael's Care at all times. A big thank you to every member of staff.
His room was adorned with his paintings and photos and he enjoyed a constant stream of visiting friends and relatives.
When he deteriorated staff did all they could to keep him as pain-free as possible. He died peacefully and my family is very grateful for the kindness he was shown.
My friend was at St Michael's Care for just under three months. During that time her care was excellent. She was given medical care appropriate to her conditions. Social care, being confined to bed meant she could not take part in activities, however, staff visited regularly for a chat and well being. Altogether her end of life care was made as comfortable as possible.
Absolutely every member of staff showed compassion, dedication and genuine care for father-in-law, and it gave us great comfort to know that he was really well looked after in the last months of his life.
Dad was only in St Michael's for 8 days. In that time he was met by extremely high standards in care, nursing and companionship. All of the team loved dad and he was made to feel so special. I have nothing but admiration for all they do and how they make the residents feel so wanted.
My father went to St Michael's for end of life care. The home and the staff made an excellent job looking after him, his health improved significantly and it became a question of long term care. I can highly recommend St Michael's Care.
The staff are superb and cared for my father amazingly. He was very fond of them and treated him with dignity and respect. Beautiful place, well kept and welcoming to all.
All staff pleasant and nurses giving updates on relatives.
Thank you.
Very happy with all aspects of the home.
My brother spent the last few weeks of his life in St Michael's care where he experienced a safe and peaceful environment. This was thanks to the very high quality of care and support provided by all the staff for which I am very grateful.
Dad suffered slight dementia and could be awkward at times, but the staff were always patient and kind, this gave our family such peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands.
The care given at St Michael's is second to none and I would recommend them without any hesitation.
Our Mother was a resident for five years and during that time we built up a good rapport with the staff. It was a difficult decision to make as a family for our Mum to become a resident of a care/nursing home, but our decision was the right one. My Mum was well cared for during her stay and we as a family had no concerns for her well being. The care provided for our Mum was of a high quality and the support given to us as a family was second to none, especially when our mother needed palliative/ end of life care. I have no concerns over recommending St Michael's in the future, and I thank them all for all the high-quality care that was provided.
Ao pleased my mother had the right care at the end.
The care my mother received in the last months of her life was kind, caring and professional. It is a difficult job and the staff here do it wonderfully well.
We were indeed lucky, as a family, to have my mother so well cared for and we can't thank the staff enough for giving us peace of mind.
My mother had a short stay at St Michael's but she was looked after and cared for excellently. Mum was very poorly but nothing was too much trouble for the staff at St Michael's. It was a very caring home and kept spotlessly clean. There was plenty going on and the social team didn't leave those out who were unable to leave their rooms even if they went in and had a chat or read a book with them. Receptionist very kind and helpful.
Dad was very well looked after by all the staff and they were friendly to all dad's visitors. I was impressed by the cleanliness and decor of the home and that there were many attractive and smaller rooms where residents could take visitors. The Garden Room was lovely and dad was able to sit in the garden when the weather permitted. His own room was pleasant too. I thought it was a lovely place for dad to have respite care and he was happy being there. I don't know about the food, dad said he didn't eat much and it was bland.
The end of life care my mother received was excellent, the staff are caring and treated the whole family with dignity during the last weeks of my mother's life. I would highly recommend this amazing nursing home and cannot say anything else but "thank you" for everything.
The support and care that my mother has been provided over a 5 month period has been amazing. The friendship of the staff provided was second to none as was their patience with my calls checking up on Mum. The consideration given to medical and palliative support was always well informed. I never had any doubts that Mum was being looked after professionally in a well-provided environment.
I have marked the section 'Management' as 'Good' - the ward supervision, alerts of health deterioration, and administration of care, food, drink, cleaning and activities was excellent, but in my 5 months association with St Michaels, I had no contact to assess the home's 'Management', perhaps because the NHS was the funding provider. So neither can I rate 'Value for Money'.
I would want to thank many by name but this site asks me not to do so. The personal service Mum and my family received made the end of her life calm, enjoyable, pain-free, and dignified in every way that was possible.

Meet the Team (7)

We are delighted to welcome Rema Sankaran as our home manager at St Michael’s Care.
Rema joins us with a wealth of experience, having started in the acute sector and worked globally in this field. Having joined St Michael’s in 2005 she quickly became an integral and valued member of the team, being promoted to Clinical Lead responsible for the nursing team. Her experience and knowledge of our home and the residents make her – we feel – the ideal person to lead the team and we are delighted for her. You can be assured of the very highest standards of person-centred care under Rema’s guardianship and we look forward to continuing the many years of success and great care that she has been a part of.

Sharon, our Office Manager has been a part of the team at St Michael's Care since February 2009.
She is friendly and has a welcoming approach, she is always willing to give advice, not only to the residents/relatives but to the staff too... she is the secret glue to our home!

Dawn was a qualified Nurse for over 20 years, previously working in the community with bundles of knowledge and experience.
She is our go-to lady when it comes to our online care plans and keeping our staff in check with their training.
Please remember the Management's door is always open should you need any support or advice!

Millie has been a part of the team at St Michael's Care since June 2011.
Millie started at St Michael's as a Health Care Assistant where she cared for our residents for over 6 years. She then became our Receptionist back in August 2017.
As the years have passed, Millie has worked hard and this time 4 years ago, alongside her Reception role she became our Customer Relations Officer where she looks after all our enquiries, holds viewings for the families of potential new residents and builds relationships with them to ensure a smooth admission into our home.Millie also keeps our social media and website up to date with St Michaels events & activities, and builds relationships within the local community, alongside organising our open days and events.
Millie is enthusiastic, bubbly and friendly... Often described as an excitable puppy. Should you have any questions you will find her at the reception desk or hidden in the small library lounge on Botany Bay.

Emma has been a part of the team here at St Michael's for 10 Years.
Emma started at St Michael's as a Senior Health Care Assistant on nights where she cared for our residents for 4 years, she then went on to be our Receptionist for 2 years.
6 years on from joining the team, Emma has progressed to our Senior Administrator, she shares the finance office with Linda and together they make a fab team.
Emma is friendly, chatty and always willing to help others... so, although she is hidden away in her office upstairs, remember the door is always open should you have any financial questions.

Gina has been a member of St Michaels for 12 years.
When she first joined the team she was a Healthcare Assistant, and she cared for our residents for 9 years before changing roles to be our Housekeeper.
Gina takes pride in her work to ensure that our home is cleaned to a professional standard and although her role changed 3 years ago, she still has that caring side, she is bubbly and friendly and engages well with our residents whilst cleaning their rooms and helps in any way she can.

Holly has only been a part of the team here at St Michael's Care as a Health Care Assistant for 6 months.
Although Holly has not been with us long and did not have previous experience with care work, she has certainly fit right into the role with her caring and compassionate personality.
Holly was keen to become a Health Care Assistant alongside going to University to study Psychology and is due to graduate this year. Once Holly has graduated, she then wishes to further her education by completing her NVQs in Health & Social Care here at St Michael's.
With the training and support from the team here, Holly has fitted in very well.
Thank you Holly for all your hard work.
