My Father came to St Michael's for End of Life Care. He was so well cared for right up to the end. Thank you to you all for the wonderful care and support for him and us as well.
My mother has just moved into St Michael's and I can not emphasise enough just how super this care home is. The levels of care; compassion and love given are wondrous and that includes the thought; care and compassion given to my husband and I. This is a new chapter for us all and St Michael's allows us all to make new memories. New memories with my mother but also with other residents and staff.
The facilities were first class and ensured all residents were treated with respect and dignity.
I would definitely recommend St Michael's Nursing Home to anyone looking for a care home with nursing facilities.
I arrived at the hospital at 11.15, and she passed away at 12.30; she looked so peaceful, bless her.
Thank you for your kind words; we were all very fond of your friend. She holds a very special place in my heart and the carers. She was full of character and had a wonderful sense of humour.
My husband has been in St Michael's for two weeks after several months in hospital. All of the staff have been extremely professional, kind and supportive. They have made the move into the home for my husband as easy and welcoming as possible. The nursing staff are fully engaged with his complex health conditions. The care
Score out of 10 - 100! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you, Carol, for your kind words and recommendation. It was a pleasure to welcome both your husband and you into our family even though it was only for a short period. You are both missed by all the staff, please do come back and visit us for our events, if able, we would all love to see you again.
Mother was in a very poor state when she came into the home but the staff managed to get her strong enough to stand and walk by herself. She's a vegetarian and they've catered for her needs very well. At first, Mother was unhappy at leaving her flat but thanks to the very kind staff and particularly the carers, she is now happy and enjoying all the activities.
It is a pleasure having your mother here with us at St Michael's. We always enjoy a little joke together, sharing a secret lack of appreciation for a certain musical artist in the Garden Room. Your mother has a wonderful sense of humour and she is well-loved by all the staff.
My mother moved into St Michael's Care on the 5th of September 2023. I am very impressed with their care for her. She has settled in very quickly. The manager and staff are brilliant. I very highly recommend this nursing home for one hundred percent care.
Mom came into St Michael's following a fall and was there for over five years. From the first day to her last, she was cared for with love and compassion, from all the staff. Due to the fall, Mom was bedbound from day one, but the entertainers would come in to sit and talk with mom, the carers and nursing staff looked after her so well, it was a credit to their care that she was 92 when she passed earlier this month. In her last few days, we sat in her room 24/7 and the staff looked after us as well as mom, that time was so precious to us for which we thank you. The food was varied, sometimes Mom didn't want to eat so staff got banana or a bit of toast for her. Her room was always clean and tidy with a view of the garden, we put seed holder by her window, she watched birds and squirrel's feed. Our family would like to thank them all for looking after Mom and wouldn't hesitate to say to anyone if you care about your loved ones, then let St Michael's Care Nursing Home care for them, they will be in excellent hands.
Thank you for your kind words, unfortunately I was on annual leave when your mum passed away and I could not be there with you and the rest of the staff, but it brought a great sadness to my heart when I found out of her passing. You mum was a great character and all the staff were very very fond of her, she is sorely missed by all of us here at St Michael's Care.
My husband was a short-term patient but he was very happy there. All staff were very efficient, always with a smile. The staff also took interest in and cared for patients' relations. A very happy and caring home to be in, I am grateful for all the care that my husband received.
Thank you for your kind words. Your husband was only with us a short time but he was a lovely gentleman and all the staff were very fond of him, he is sorely missed.
I found it was so lovely how all the staff made it a very special day for my friend and are always kind to me and very helpful in many ways. I would like to say a very big thank you to them all for all the care they give.
Thank you, we are glad that you had a positive experience and enjoyed your special day with your friend.
Wonderful - very hardworking carers. Unfortunately, the management of this home is shocking; they kept my stepfather's death a secret for three weeks! My legal team will now deal with this bias lying management team. The food is disgusting, and this home puts so much responsibility on staff - they only work 10/4 - no weekends. They will be hearing from my lawyers. They have bullied me and made the last two years hell. Everything has been illegal. Duty of care failings everywhere. I have lots of proof!

I cannot praise this nursing home highly enough. From our very first enquiry, we have experienced great kindness, courtesy and thoughtfulness. The home is extremely clean, tidy and well-organised. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I particularly single out one member of staff who is so professional. My mum is very happy here, and we know she is being very well cared for.
Thank you for your kind words, Wayne; it is a pleasure having your mum here with us and having your dad visit on a daily basis. They are a lovely couple.
All the staff are wonderful to the patients and to us when visiting. I would recommend the home to anyone that wants to put their loved ones in a home, come to St Michael's. When I come in, I feel welcome by the secretaries. One lady is wonderful and kind and is there if I need help and showed me around the home. If I had to go into a home, I would come here myself.
There were three lovely ladies who organised entertainment for the residents, and when my father no longer wanted to get up from his bed, they and other staff would frequently pop in to say hello. The food was generous and varied, and menus were supplied so that the residents could choose their own meals. The home has a large garden and two large rooms for entertainment and gatherings. The general decor is smart.
Dad passed away recently, but I have fond memories of his time there.
My sister came to St Michael's in March this year. We didn’t know what to expect, as hadn’t had any experience with care homes. The staff were amazing and put us at ease straight away. My sister received the best care and continues to do so. The staff are always friendly and have time for you even at their busiest times. My sister is happy and well cared for. It really does feel like family, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend St Michael's.
I cannot express enough my gratitude for the wonderful care, love and attention all the staff gave to my relative at St Michael's Care. We were treated like family, and I would not hesitate to recommend this excellent nursing home.
Upon entering the building, you are always greeted with a smile. Everybody has time for you, even the odd jobs man. Since the new manager arrived, everything is better, it was good before, but it's even better now. Residents and staff appear happy, and I am more than satisfied that both my relations are well cared for.
I have nothing but praise for the care and support my close friend received at St Michael’s. I found all the staff to be very caring, friendly and helpful. I was always kept informed, and I found everyone very approachable and kind. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend St Michael’s.
Thank you for your kind words; your friend will be greatly missed, and we are thinking of you at time.
I cannot recommend St Michael's Care highly enough. My mother has complex health needs but is thriving. Every day there's something to enjoy and be occupied with. So much variety in entertainment and opportunities to socialise. The staff are so lovely, very approachable and clearly all know their job roles very well. Nothing feels like too much trouble and I feel I am kept well informed. I'm welcomed to join Mum in activities or spend quiet time with her in her homely room. Mum also cannot praise the staff enough for giving her such joy, comfort and kindness. She enjoys the enrichment of in-house chapel services, generational interaction afternoons, opportunities to exercise physically and to engage her mind, services like haircuts/chiropody/therapies and from pet therapy dog visits. The menus are excellent. The building and grounds are also lovely; near amenities and the seafront to go out if we wish. Mum's blissfully happy and says she feels like she's living a holiday, in a wonderful hotel, for rest of her days.

Meet the Team (7)

We are delighted to welcome Rema Sankaran as our home manager at St Michael’s Care.
Rema joins us with a wealth of experience, having started in the acute sector and worked globally in this field. Having joined St Michael’s in 2005 she quickly became an integral and valued member of the team, being promoted to Clinical Lead responsible for the nursing team. Her experience and knowledge of our home and the residents make her – we feel – the ideal person to lead the team and we are delighted for her. You can be assured of the very highest standards of person-centred care under Rema’s guardianship and we look forward to continuing the many years of success and great care that she has been a part of.

Sharon, our Office Manager has been a part of the team at St Michael's Care since February 2009.
She is friendly and has a welcoming approach, she is always willing to give advice, not only to the residents/relatives but to the staff too... she is the secret glue to our home!

Dawn was a qualified Nurse for over 20 years, previously working in the community with bundles of knowledge and experience.
She is our go-to lady when it comes to our online care plans and keeping our staff in check with their training.
Please remember the Management's door is always open should you need any support or advice!

Millie has been a part of the team at St Michael's Care since June 2011.
Millie started at St Michael's as a Health Care Assistant where she cared for our residents for over 6 years. She then became our Receptionist back in August 2017.
As the years have passed, Millie has worked hard and this time 4 years ago, alongside her Reception role she became our Customer Relations Officer where she looks after all our enquiries, holds viewings for the families of potential new residents and builds relationships with them to ensure a smooth admission into our home.Millie also keeps our social media and website up to date with St Michaels events & activities, and builds relationships within the local community, alongside organising our open days and events.
Millie is enthusiastic, bubbly and friendly... Often described as an excitable puppy. Should you have any questions you will find her at the reception desk or hidden in the small library lounge on Botany Bay.

Emma has been a part of the team here at St Michael's for 10 Years.
Emma started at St Michael's as a Senior Health Care Assistant on nights where she cared for our residents for 4 years, she then went on to be our Receptionist for 2 years.
6 years on from joining the team, Emma has progressed to our Senior Administrator, she shares the finance office with Linda and together they make a fab team.
Emma is friendly, chatty and always willing to help others... so, although she is hidden away in her office upstairs, remember the door is always open should you have any financial questions.

Gina has been a member of St Michaels for 12 years.
When she first joined the team she was a Healthcare Assistant, and she cared for our residents for 9 years before changing roles to be our Housekeeper.
Gina takes pride in her work to ensure that our home is cleaned to a professional standard and although her role changed 3 years ago, she still has that caring side, she is bubbly and friendly and engages well with our residents whilst cleaning their rooms and helps in any way she can.

Holly has only been a part of the team here at St Michael's Care as a Health Care Assistant for 6 months.
Although Holly has not been with us long and did not have previous experience with care work, she has certainly fit right into the role with her caring and compassionate personality.
Holly was keen to become a Health Care Assistant alongside going to University to study Psychology and is due to graduate this year. Once Holly has graduated, she then wishes to further her education by completing her NVQs in Health & Social Care here at St Michael's.
With the training and support from the team here, Holly has fitted in very well.
Thank you Holly for all your hard work.
