My husband has been in Brook House since October as his needs made it too challenging to cope at home. Brook House was recommended by a resident we met in hospital who spoke highly of it. Having visited several homes Brook House had much more of a family feel, yes the building is old and has its issues
which must have its own challenges for the team, but it also gives it its character.
From the first contact the support and help you receive is excellent and everyone is very friendly coping with the challenges I was unable to manage. It has been an enormous relief to me that my husband is being cared for so well. Everyday he comments about how nice the team are. You can visit at any time and you're always made to feel welcome. I would recommend Brook House to anyone

Brook House Nursing & Residential Home

My wife has been a resident of Brook House for over 5 years now. We feel she is part of that family and is treated as such. This is her home!
It is heartening to know that the Manager has an "open door" policy. In essence this means she makes herself available to chat, listen and address key issues.
I can say this from personal experience. I consider Brook House a 'Small Home with a Big Heart'. We personally know all the staff and they know us. Moreover, the management, nurses and carers are familiar with my wife's specific individual needs. It's also comforting to know that both the cares and nurses constantly call or keep us posted of appointments, medications, my wife's condition etc.
Brook House has other benefits for my wife -- her church is across the green from the Nursing Home and she loves the food!! What's more the GP's Surgery and the Dentist are within walking distance. Altogether reassuring.
Reply from Haris Khan, Chief Executive Officer at Brook House Nursing & Residential HomeWhat a heartening message to read!

Feel that the whole place needs redecorating. Is very run down.
The staff are all very friendly & look after Mum as best they can.
I think laundry could be better as some of Mums cardigans havent been laundered properly.
Food is good.

Ashview Nursing Home is a very good, well organised Nursing Home. All staff do a very difficult job very well indeed. My late mother was made very welcome and comfortable by the staff, as were all the visitors to my mother. The operation of the end of life care enabled my mother to have a comfortable,
pain free stay. Overall, very impressed and very thankful.

My husband was accompanied to the dental clinic in Weston-Super-Mare by a young male member of staff, who gave outstanding support. Not only did he give my husband reassurance but he also assisted in hoisting him in and out of the dentist's chair, he was the most knowledgeable about how the hoist worked.
He then had the dubious pleasure of keeping my husband calm and cheerful while they waited ninety minutes for hospital transport.

The care staff at Clevedon Court Nursing Home are professional and work extremely hard to give my mum an enjoyable life, a friendly and thoughtful experience of support.
We got regular updates from management, and I feel confident to speak to them and the nursing staff should I need to discuss any
issues.
Their 'open door' policy works the best for relatives, like me, who work full time and can simply 'pop in' when I can/when I would like.

Mum was incredibly anxious for the first few days as she had just been discharged from a very poor hospital stay. The staff were really friendly, professional and accommodating and she settled really quickly considering how unwell she was when she arrived. All staff have been excellent but my greatest
praise is for the manager and team leader.

Clevedon Court is my first experience with a care home, and the level of care my husband receives is exceptional. The staff are amazing and do a wonderful job, even if sometimes they are short-staffed. The food looked appealing and appetising. Puddings are homemade. The laundry and cleaning is good.
My
one criticism is the carpet in my husband's room needs removing and a wipeable flooring put in place.

My mother has been a resident at Broome End for just over three months. During that time, we as a family have been very pleased with the standard of care given to her. The staff and management are very kind, attentive, discreet, friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is situated

An outstanding care home. This is evident by many factors;
1. The smile when you first greet the team.
2 . The personal effort made by staff to meet the desired goals and results.
3 Management is approachable and consistent in its mission to understand my brother.
4 Care has made a huge difference
to my brother's wellbeing and thus that reflection on family is positive.
5 My brother speaks very honestly of his happiness . He can be very critical.
6 Every time there has been an incident. The nursing team has been outstanding by informing me on time and have taken relevant steps. One such step was his last admission to hospital for a chest infection. On this occasion a doctor saw his shaking and administered medication which has result resulted in reduce dripping from the mouth And an enormous difference in the shaking to almost none.
I think that has made a lot of difference to my brothers well-being.
Thank you to the management , staff for all your hard work. It means a lot.
Reply from Haris Khan, Chief Executive Officer at Brook House Nursing & Residential HomeThank you so much for your kind words. We are truly touched by your thoughtful feedback. My father hasn't been in this home for long, as it was his birthday we asked if we could have a few family over to help him celebrate the day. We were offered a room and a buffet, the room was decorated with pics of my father doing in-house activities, some of which we didn't know he'd done. The home
went above and beyond to make this difficult day a very special day for all of us. My dad really enjoyed it too. Thanks to the lovely staff.

I feel my mother is very well carried for at Brook House. The staff are very kind and patient, even when dealing with challenging behaviour. things I buy her go missing.
