- Overall experience good. Key concern was room size, access to the ensuite toilet was difficult, large and sophisticated bed seemed to overwhelm the limited space. (Room 23)
- Food seemed excellent in my limited experience.
- Staff had good English, but foreign accents difficult for the aged and
hard of hearing.
- The best use was made of building not designed for the purpose. Lifts good.
Reply from Haris Khan, Chief Executive Officer at Field House Care HomeThank you for your honest feedback and for recognising the positives in our home.
We're thrilled you enjoyed the excellent food and appreciated the effective use of our building, including the reliable lifts - these are key to creating a welcoming, practical environment for residents.
Your observations about Room 23 are valuable; we prioritise resident comfort and ease of movement, and we'll review the layout to enhance space.
We also celebrate the diversity of our team, whose varied backgrounds and stories enrich residents' daily lives with fresh perspectives, cultural insights, and engaging conversations that make every day more vibrant. Our staff are trained in clear, patient, inclusive communication to ensure everyone - especially those with hearing challenges - feels heard and valued.
Thank you again - your input helps us continue delivering exceptional care.

Came in for respite care in June 2025. Became a permanent resident within 6 weeks.
I struggled to settle initially, even though the staff were kind and patient. My condition is rare and therefore it's not immediately apparent what my needs are.
My main issue is that I have to call staff to enable
me to get to the toilet but they then leave me for too long sitting on the toilet. I would prefer them to stay close by to help me off the toilet when I'm ready.
I would like to have a full and proper shower not just a fleeting spray over!
I do struggle with communication/speech, the staff are patient with me.
The daily activities have improved considerably recently making the mornings fun, with a community feel.
Although I wish I could have continued to live in my home, Field House is becoming my home.
Reply from Fran Donno, Customer Service Adviser at Field House Care HomeWe appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Kind" and "Patient" being used to describe our staff. We want our home to feel like a community, and it's lovely to hear that you feel a part of it. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.

My overall experience of Field House has been excellent. Mum has been here for7 months after we found that she wasn't coping at all on her own due to her rare medical condition.
The relief that she is being cared for , well fed and watered, and most importantly that she is safe from serious injuries,
is immense.
Mum looks brighter, has put on weight( she was underweight) she is healthier and happier now. It's lovely to walk towards and see her smiling again.
All the staff are friendly, polite, caring and considerate to Mum, and all her family.
The rules are. "It's your Mum's home".
There is a varied daily activity schedule. Crafts, quiz's, sound and dog therapy and a choir!! This is a small example of the activities. The staff follow 'national days'. They are currently gearing up for a Valentines lunch with a profession singer attending. The home is decorated with hearts that the residents have created.
Any issues/problems are quickly resolved. Management are very approachable

My mother has been in Fieldhouse for 12 months, in this time there has been '3' managers, various members of staff have left and now appears to be running with the bare minimum. The activities have been very poor and always seem unplanned and rushed. (lack of staff) It took me 4 months to get regular
updates on my mothers overall health and well being and this was with me visiting weekly. The change of managers doesn't seem to change anything, when I'm there they are always in meetings!!! Please note the majority of the staff are amazing.
Reply from Natasha Burns-Leigh, Customer Service Advisor at Field House Care HomeThank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry your experience didn't meet the standards we aim to provide. Following a recent change in management, we have introduced additional support and training to ensure continuity of care and maintain our high standards. Resident wellbeing remains our top priority, and we would welcome the chance to discuss this further. Please contact our Feedback Team at feedback@bupa.com or call 0113 381 6293.

Ashview Nursing Home is a very good, well organised Nursing Home. All staff do a very difficult job very well indeed. My late mother was made very welcome and comfortable by the staff, as were all the visitors to my mother. The operation of the end of life care enabled my mother to have a comfortable,
pain free stay. Overall, very impressed and very thankful.
Reply from Haris Khan, Chief Executive Officer at Ashview Nursing HomeThank you for your kind words. We will share your feedback with the team who deserve all the credit, and more.

Many thanks to the staff who helped my friend have a special lunchtime celebration with friends for his birthday today. He enjoyed his fish and chips followed by a birthday cake supplied by the kitchen and a rendition of "Happy Birthday". Thank you Field House for helping him have a lovely day.

I would like to thank all the staff for their care of looking after my friend in his final month. Their dedication attention and care was the best I have experienced. All the staff at Ashview Nursing Home made his last month pass with dignity and care, plus made his widow's experience more bearable.

I cannot honestly say that I have enjoyed my three years at Field House. I do not claim that the care is very poor, but it is certainly not adequate in many respects. There are not enough carers to be able to spend time with each of the residents and not all the carers have the right attitude to make
us feel respected or comfortable. The activities are not always suitable for our age or abilities. It would make us feel more normal if we had more contact with life outside the home. This month (April 2025) a new Home Manager has arrived so it remains to be seen whether any shortcomings will be improved. I certainly hope so.

Generally, my experience is excellent. However, there should be an additional toilet on the first floor for residents. At the moment, there is only one toilet for 23 residents.

Thank you Field House. Mum was there for several months. The staff have been very caring, changing Mum's bandages every few days. I was able to assist several times! Not that I minded as I could evaluate Mum's condition and encourage Mum. The management and administrative staff were exceptionally helpful
given the logistical situation (I could only visit once a month for a few days). Everyone has been very kind and helpful, especially at the end, when I needed to talk and ask for practical advice. I warmly recommend Field House whether for a short stay or for longer.
Reply from Maria Ricketts, Customer Care Adviser at Field House Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. Our mother was a resident at Field House for a 28 day assessment following a long stay in hospital with several health issues and in particular a high output stoma! She was so well cared for here ! I have to especially mention her nurse who was mums favourite, she really went the extra mile for mum
at all times and had such a lovely caring nature. We would definitely recommend this home.

Field House was a gem of a find! My wife stayed there in November recovering from a hip fracture. I visited her almost every day thus seeing much of the activity in the home. Administration is exemplary from the initial assessment to the final discharge report; so detailed and caring. Security is good,
so that one can be sure residents are safe. The atmosphere is very homely; whilst the building is older this gives it a warmth and charm difficult to recreate in more modern functional establishments. It has its quirks, of course, as the building has been adapted, but nevertheless it creates a warmth and quietness perfect for a healing atmosphere. The little garden is a real bonus.
The staff were exceptional: kind, compassionate, encouraging and professional, in all cases, especially the nurses, activity coordinators and catering staff. My wife benefitted greatly in Field House so accelerating her healing, for which we are very thankful.

I am very grateful for the particular care and attention as her anxiety levels increased and she could not be left alone. Staff were very considerate and caring.

I consider Field House excellent and would recommend it. I have had nothing but care and kindness and smiles from every member of staff from management, nurses, carers, cleaners, laundry lady, kitchen staff, and the lovely ladies who keep us busy with exercises and quizzes. I would also mention the
nurses and carers who feed the people unable to feed themselves.

My mother was a resident at Ashview for nearly three years before sadly passing away in September. She had a number of health problems including dementia which eventually meant that the care she had been receiving at home had become inadequate. She very quickly settled at Ashview and we soon noticed
a significant reduction in her anxiety levels which had been a major cause of concern to us whilst she was at home. The nurses, carers and staff at Ashview are very competent, caring and friendly, the care given to Mum throughout her stay was second to none. Communication with the nurses was excellent and they always found time for a chat about Mum's health. For us as a family the peace of mind we had during Mum's stay at Ashview, knowing that she was safe and well cared for 24 hours a day was invaluable. Ashview is a little gem!

The staff have always been very helpful but they surpassed themselves with Mum's 100th birthday. They arranged for a room to be decorated and welcomed over 18 visitors to celebrate with her. Nothing was too much trouble and all of those who came to the home were extremely complimentary about the atmosphere
and attentiveness of the staff. I cannot say how much we appreciate the care and support given and the reassurance that Mum is very well cared for is invaluable to us.

Excellent care home where the quality of the care for my mother has been consistently excellent not only during the last 12 months but also the last 6 years.
Not only is the care excellent, and delivered by committed carers, the care home also support the residents and their families by ensuring special
days (birthdays and wedding anniversaries etc) are celebrated in style.
A truly excellent care home.

I will forever remember the happy atmosphere at Ashview Nursing Home created by the lovely helpful, caring and professional staff. The nurses, caring assistants, kitchen, administration and maintenance colleagues all made me feel that my mother was settled, safe and properly looked after day and night.
I was impressed with their use of technology together with their caring instincts to monitor my mother's health and mobility. They kept her interested by organising many themed days involving making decorations and serving special meals. The house itself is a lovely old building with a few challenges but fit for purpose and always warm and comfortable. Thank you to everybody.
