A very safe and relaxing visit. Lovely, caring and welcoming staff. The garden is looking transformed since Dad's last visit - a great space to meet. He is happy and relaxed, enjoying the short stay and speak very highly of the staff.

The staff had everything organised concerning PPE. Felt totally safe myself, plus it was obvious the residents were well looked after.

Overall my experience is very positive. Any issues have been taken on board and discussed and sorted with politeness and dignity. The whole staff (carers, nurses, cleaners, catering staff, entertainment as well) have always been approachable and friendly. I have not had many occasions to talk with the management which is a good sign but when I have they have always been there to listen and discuss constructively. A massive thank you to ALL during the Covid-19 pandemic.

My mother was a resident of Abingdon Court for many years. During all that time the carers and all staff - and we say many come and go over the years - treated my mother with dignity, respect and fantastic love and care. I visited many times on different days and times and always found my mother happy, well and cared for. The food is amazing and they adapt to residents needs amazingly well. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. The loyalty and devotion of the staff is truly remarkable - particularly those on the second floor, where my mother's room was. The duty nurse on the floor and all the staff were wonderful. I will miss them.

I was at Abingdon Court for respite care following a long spell in hospital. My room was bright and airy, overlooking a river and trees and fields beyond. Staff are welcoming, genuinely caring, and so helpful and cheerful, finding time to feed residents if needed, or just perform like acts of kindness. The activities are varied and designed to involve all types of resident. Nursing care is efficient and responsive. I hope to return here to convalesce after my next operation.

Very welcome feeling as I enter the door. As far as I can see, my husband is very well looked after. He doesn't communicate so difficult to look after, as shows no interest in anything, but his carers are brilliant.

Our friend is a resident. We have power of attorney in financial matters for this resident who has been a resident for three years. We would especially mention the staff who treat her with care and respect. There is a high turn-over in the manger's position but the deputy manager who is long term is always patient and concerned to resolve any difficulties that arise responding by phone, email or during a visit.

In general, we are very pleased with the care my wife receives. The staff are attentive and polite and the management of the home is very good. Hospital appointments have been arranged and dealt with efficiently and on time. We understand new carers are coming in all the time and that sometimes their English is not so good but communication of needs can be awkward if more experienced staff are not present. Thank you for looking after my wife.

My mother has been in the home for just over a year and I visit about twice a week. The staff give excellent care and are very friendly. The nursing staff have been very professional when dealing with any problems with my mother's health. The office staff are also excellent and the only small complaint relates to the food, which is not great and is usually cold.

My mother entered this care home in June 2017 which over the last 19 months really did become her home. My sister and I and the rest of the family became part of the furniture there. We knew most of the staff on first name terms and nothing was too much trouble, from making a cup of tea for us all or helping to arrange our mum's 80th surprise birthday party with providing all the food and a massive cake for 30 people and children. There were a few minor issues in the early days but these were quickly sorted by the staff. In Mum's final days we found the staff to be even more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for Mum or us.
We looked at several different care homes in the Abingdon area and I am glad we chose this one - five star.

With sadness, mother passed away in February 2019 surrounded by her family.

The staff in Abingdon are always excellent, but in light of the outbreak of the Norovirus over Christmas, when the home was closed to visitors, all carers and staff were put under extra pressure, but always had time for phone calls and kept us updated.

Extra thanks to them all.

For over five years my husband has been a resident at Abingdon Court. Throughout this time he has been extremely well cared for and I cannot praise the manager and staff too highly. The nurses and carers are very well trained, dedicated and caring. My husband is immobile and needs an enormous amount of care and attention. He looks forward to and always enjoys his delicious meals which are well presented. The daily activities are varied and cater for the varying needs of all the residents. I visit the home every day so I am very aware of all the excellent care which goes on there and I recommend it to anybody I know who is trying to choose a nursing home.

My aunt has been a resident for two years and this is my third visit to the UK to see her during this time. Having spent many hours a day each time I have come, I'm impressed at how hard the carers work. I was happy to see consistency and familiar faces amongst the staff. They're genuinely caring towards the residents and I'm appreciative of this. I would strongly recommend this care home and am happy my aunt is well cared for here.

For the last 6 weeks, there has been quite a few agency staff covering summer holidays which has not been very satisfactory because they do not know my husband who is extremely ill and dying of cancer, as well as being very confused from his dementia.
I think that the long-term care since February 2018 has been very good and the permanent care staff good throughout.

I wish there was someone who could look after our worries - outreach worker.
