  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Abingdon Court Care Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.795 for Abingdon Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (67 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.795

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.469 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Abingdon Court Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 12.8 positive Reviews (64 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 12.8 Target = 0.469

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My Husband was cared for here for over 2 years. In that time the caring was exemplary:-
1. Carers were kind, compassionate and patient.
2. Everyone was helpful, understanding to residents and relatives. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone worked hard to please.
3. The food was nicely presented and very good.
4. Private and public rooms were cleaned daily and nicely furnished. Laundry done every day.
My family and friends were well pleased with this care home, we could not have chosen better.

My grandmother has been in Abingdon Court care home now for 4 weeks. I, her granddaughter, was worried about her going in to care but I've got to say they have been brilliant the staff are friendly and you can always ask them anything if you're worried. It’s my grandmother's birthday today, she’s 98 and they put balloons and happy birthday banners in her room what a lovely gesture thank you Abingdon Court.

It is very sad when your husband has to go into a nursing home, but I would like to say how happy I am that my husband is in Abingdon Court.
It is very clean and he is well looked after by very caring staff and very friendly to my family and I.
I have been visiting when he has had meals, I must say they have smelt very appetising and my husband has eaten them all up.

My mother was in the home since September on the top floor. All carers and nursing staff were very caring and helpful when it was her birthday, they decorated her room with balloons and posters and sang Happy Birthday. She was in the best place for her last few months of life. Despite her difficult healthcare requirements, she remained calm and comfortable and staff cared for her in every way. As a family, we were very content knowing how secure and content she was despite her critical medical condition. A first-class establishment and a special place to trust our relatives too.

My husband has been a resident for over four years and I visit him every day. He is immobile and needs a huge amount of care. The nurses and carers are all wonderful, so kind and caring and compassionate. The meals always look tempting and my husband really enjoys them.
The daily activities are very varied catering for all the residents. I have no hesitation in recommending Abingdon Court Care Home to anybody I know who is looking for a place some of whom have taken up my recommendation.

Abingdon Court is fantastic. It stood well above other local care homes when we were viewing them and my mother has had excellent care. The staff go out of their way to get to know each resident and their families. Residents are treated as individuals, they are treated with gentleness and dignity and there is good communication between everyone involved.
Staff are always available to speak to family members, from carers, nurses, the administrator and the manager, everything is transparent and well-managed.
