My mother, who will be 96 in July, has been a resident at The Close Care Home for three years and my brother and I are delighted with the care she receives. Last weekend, to celebrate His Majesty's upcoming Coronation, The Close organised a street party-style event and it was heartwarming to see so many of the residents, their family members and carers together. The entertainment was first-class and the food delicious. Mum has dementia but is treated with dignity and respect by the wonderful caring staff. She's not on any medication and can become agitated but the majority of the time she's contented and happy, a tribute to the wonderful care she receives.

We have been very grateful to The Close for caring for my husband after his brain haemorrhage in May. He has had very good care and there is a friendly atmosphere. The gardens in the summertime were a great pleasure and we pushed him around them every day.

I would just like to thank the team in the Willows for looking after my Dad so well whilst he was staying in a hub bed and waiting to go home. My father is a resident at The Close. He has been here since May this year and is in a hub bed at the moment and we are hoping he will become permanent soon. The quality of care, the staff, and the overall running of the home is excellent. They are so well looked after and nothing is too much trouble. Family also get looked after with the offer of a cup of tea and the odd slice of cake as well - happy days.
It is recommended by myself and my family 100%.

My mother recently stayed at The Close awaiting home support, she sadly passed away 21/05/2019. During her time at The Close, she received very supportive care from the care team, when she refused to eat, they individually encourage her and tempted her at every meal, even the chef visited her to tell her he would cook anything she desired, this made her feel so special.
l personal found the care staff and the lady who was part of the housekeeping team to be so supportive to both mum and the family. We were all made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home in its beautiful surrounding.

Nothing was too much trouble both for him and the family. We were made to feel at home from the very start of his stay....
My father was a resident in The Close from January 2017, until he passed away in October 2018. My father was looked after with compassion and love from all involved with his care. Nothing was too much trouble both for him and the family. We were made to feel at home from the very start of his stay. The nursing staff and carers were all excellent with their support and care and had a genuine love for the residents. The cleaners all so friendly, the entertainment team could never do enough for you and The Bistro staff always had a welcome, a cup of coffee and a friendly ear when needed. The end of life care was so respectful of everyone's wishes. I truly believe we could not have chosen a better place for Dad to spend his final months. We as a family can never thank The Close enough for everything and will always be very special to us. We miss everyone.

My mother has been here for 2 months now and in this time she has been well looked after. She is only waiting for the home support to be arranged, obviously, I would prefer her home but I know she is cared for, safe and happy most of the time. Thank you to all the staff.

My mother was a resident at The Close Care Home for a little over a year and died recently. I believe there was no better care home that she could have lived in.
I would like to thank the director and the managers and staff who were deeply caring and helpful to mum and who made her final year very happy.
The Bistro was where mum used to love to go and chat with her friends and other residents and we, the family sat with her and were made to feel very welcome especially by a lady who always made us a cup of tea. Always looked forward to the brownies when they were available to purchase on the counter!
We will remember those times with great affection and will miss coming in.

I have no hesitation in recommending The Close as a truly excellent Care Home. My father was a resident at the Close for six years until December 2017 and I believe there was nowhere better he could have spent his final years. All of the team at The Close truly care about residents, treating them as individuals and working hard to build personal relationships. The care and nursing staff are highly professional as well as friendly. There is also a large emphasis placed on activities at the home which means there are opportunities for residents to enjoy trips out, music events, games, cooking classes and much more. The food at The Close is of a very high quality with creative menus available. The facilities are excellent and well maintained, helping The Close to feel as close to a home environment as possible. Beautiful gardens and an idyllic riverside setting make it a lovely place to stay and to visit.

I am extremely happy that my husband is staying at The Close Care Home. All the members of staff are extraordinary people who are always keen to help. My husband is unable to communicate or express himself in any way but I am 100% sure that he is in good hands. The management team is outstanding if I have any issues. I am convinced that they are there for my husband and myself. The whole atmosphere feels like I am at my own home. People are very friendly and helpful. I am more than happy that my husband can be here. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants their relatives to have exceptional care and an uncommon quality of life.

My father was transferred from a hospice to The Close, to manage his end of life care, I met Victoria at the hospice with my dad. She spent 3 hours looking through all his hospital and hospice notes, writing down every little detail and noting everyone that was involved in my fathers treatment....
My father was transferred from a hospice to The Close, to manage his end of life care, I met Victoria at the hospice with my dad. She spent 3 hours looking through all his hospital and hospice notes, writing down every little detail and noting everyone that was involved in my fathers treatment. Then spent quite some time talking with my father to ensure a smooth well informed transition. More recently my father was informed he could no longer receive the treatment that was keeping him alive due to the deterioration in is health, and he was gaining no benefit from the treatment. So the conversation took place with a nurse and Dr and his family supporting him in the warm surroundings of his room at The Close. He was then kept busy planning what he would like to over the next two weeks. He planned a meal for all his children and their spouses in the private dining room down stairs. Dad decided what he wanted to eat, a three course meal. The food was the quality of any 5* venue with the presentation and detail put into the gathering. The lady who served the meal was a bubbly Welsh lady. She brought light and love into the room and gave us a wonderful memory to take away with us to treasure. Lots of laughter love and a celebration of my Dad's life whilst he was able to enjoy it with us. We will always be grateful to the staff member at the gathering and those involved with the preparation.
My Father asked me to write this on his behalf, I have just read it to him and the biggest smile I have seen for a while appeared on his face, with a thank you!
