My father was a resident in The Close from January 2017, until he passed away in October 2018. My father was looked after with compassion and love from all involved with his care. Nothing was too much trouble both for him and the family. We were made to feel at home from the very start of his stay.
The nursing staff and carers were all excellent with their support and care and had a genuine love for the residents. The cleaners all so friendly, the entertainment team could never do enough for you and The Bistro staff always had a welcome, a cup of coffee and a friendly ear when needed.
The end of life care was so respectful of everyone's wishes. I truly believe we could not have chosen a better place for Dad to spend his final months.
We as a family can never thank The Close enough for everything and will always be very special to us. We miss everyone.

My mother has been here for 2 months now and in this time she has been well looked after. She is only waiting for the home support to be arranged, obviously, I would prefer her home but I know she is cared for, safe and happy most of the time. Thank you to all the staff.

My wife was admitted to the close in August 2017. Since then until her death on 6th April 2018, she was looked after lovingly and compassionately by all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and concerns were dealt with promptly. Her end of life was dignified and respectful. The nurses and carers
were excellent with their support. Truly a home from home.

My uncle recently moved to The close. This is the best care home ever. He has been in 2 homes before and this is by far the most caring place he has ever been. It's a real family atmopshere from the housekeepers to the owners. The staff are amazing and so loving we know he is safe and happy. The food
is delicious even with his special requirements. Thankyou to everyone there. This place is outstanding.

My mother was a resident at The Close Care Home for a little over a year and died recently. I believe there was no better care home that she could have lived in.


I would like to thank the director and the managers and staff who were deeply caring and helpful to mum and who made her final year very

happy.


The Bistro was where mum used to love to go and chat with her friends and other residents and we, the family sat with her and were made to feel very welcome especially by a lady who always made us a cup of tea. Always looked forward to the brownies when they were available to purchase on the counter!


We will remember those times with great affection and will miss coming in.

I have no hesitation in recommending The Close as a truly excellent Care Home. My father was a resident at the Close for six years until December 2017 and I believe there was nowhere better he could have spent his final years. All of the team at The Close truly care about residents, treating them
as individuals and working hard to build personal relationships. The care and nursing staff are highly professional as well as friendly. There is also a large emphasis placed on activities at the home which means there are opportunities for residents to enjoy trips out, music events, games, cooking classes and much more. The food at The Close is of a very high quality with creative menus available. The facilities are excellent and well maintained, helping The Close to feel as close to a home environment as possible. Beautiful gardens and an idyllic riverside setting make it a lovely place to stay and to visit.

I have been visiting The Close for around a year or so now and I have to say what a fantastic place to be. The staff are deeply caring, friendly and willing to help out in any way, the managers are fantastic and always willing to go the extra mile. They have received a flood of awards in the last year

I come to visit The Close Care Home on a regular basis an love seeing the residents so happy and living fulfilled lives. The home is clean, calm and the managers and Managing Director is engaged with all the residents and families. It’s a family home and you can really feel that in the atmosphere. The
gardens and bistros are stunning and the nurses and carers are so wonderful!

The staff and managers are amazing. Every single resident is catered for individually. The staff, cleaners, cooks, bistro staff and reception always have a smile and a 'Hello' when passing or on your way out.


The food is also quite amazing, different menu's every week, giving choice for everyone.

The home has no awful smells and you see the cleaners around all the time. You pay for what you get.

I am extremely happy that my husband is staying at The Close Care Home. All the members of staff are extraordinary people who are always keen to help. My husband is unable to communicate or express himself in any way but I am 100% sure that he is in good hands. The management team is outstanding if
I have any issues. I am convinced that they are there for my husband and myself. The whole atmosphere feels like I am at my own home. People are very friendly and helpful. I am more than happy that my husband can be here. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants their relatives to have exceptional care and an uncommon quality of life.

My father was transferred from a hospice to The Close, to manage his end of life care, I met Victoria at the hospice with my dad. She spent 3 hours looking through all his hospital and hospice notes, writing down every little detail and noting everyone that was involved in my fathers treatment. Then
spent quite some time talking with my father to ensure a smooth well informed transition.
More recently my father was informed he could no longer receive the treatment that was keeping him alive due to the deterioration in is health, and he was gaining no benefit from the treatment.
So the conversation took place with a nurse and Dr and his family supporting him in the warm surroundings of his room at The Close. He was then kept busy planning what he would like to over the next two weeks. He planned a meal for all his children and their spouses in the private dining room down stairs. Dad decided what he wanted to eat, a three course meal. The food was the quality of any 5* venue with the presentation and detail put into the gathering. The lady who served the meal was a bubbly Welsh lady. She brought light and love into the room and gave us a wonderful memory to take away with us to treasure. Lots of laughter love and a celebration of my Dad's life whilst he was able to enjoy it with us. We will always be grateful to the staff member at the gathering and those involved with the preparation.
My Father asked me to write this on his behalf, I have just read it to him and the biggest smile I have seen for a while appeared on his face, with a thank you!
