Having had an aortic valve replacement surgery in hospital, I spent one week here at The Cotswold Home to help me to recover before returning home to my husband, who needs support. In every respect, the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful (especially with medication). Thank you to everyone.

Mum and dad came to this care home after a very unhappy experience in another in Kent. Thank goodness the homes are incomparable - the food, staff, care have been wonderful and despite difficult personal circumstances they settled in well. The manager and carers have been really well organised during
the lockdown and have managed to keep us well informed and to facilitate FaceTime when possible. Sadly, mum passed away in June 2020 after a short illness. Mum was treated with the utmost compassion, dignity and respect and Dad received extra attention and time and kindness during this difficult period. We, as a family, also received wonderful support and kindness and visits we’re facilitated in accordance with guidelines and despite restrictions to enable us to be at Mum's bedside during her last days. I have utter respect for the manager, and her team and am confident that Dad will continue to receive the support and care he needs, especially in these difficult weeks after mum’s passing.

The Cotswold Home is exceptional in every way. The way they have dealt with the pandemic is testament to the professionalism and dedication of the entire team. However, beyond the Covid crisis life goes on in care homes and in this one my parents have been well very cared for, very well fed and in truth
loved. The move to the Cotswold Home was from another home and the differences were stark. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Cotswold Home to anyone looking for a homely, peaceful atmosphere. The staff and management team are genuinely kind and caring, food is wonderful and every resident is loved, respected and treated with the utmost dignity.

My mother spent her last few weeks at The Cotswold Home. Although she proved a difficult case, she was always treated with care and respect, and because of this, her last weeks of life were made much easier. The newsletters from the Home were always helpful, and we (the family) are most grateful to
the manager and the team at Cotswold Home for looking after our Mum and making the last few weeks of her life as pleasant as possible. We are equally grateful for the care lavished on our Dad, who is also a resident and is in relatively good health. I phone him every Sunday, and he never has a negative word to say. I warmly recommend The Cotswold Home to anyone with elderly relations who need caring for.

This is a fantastic home - amazing staff, and a very caring atmosphere. It feels homely, the food is good and the gardens are lovely. It’s a big step when loved ones move into residential care, but I’ve no doubt at all that this is the best possible home my dad could be in.

My mother was admitted as a full-time resident after a life-threatening illness and a hospital stay, aged 94. Gradually, her health and mobility improved so much that several months later, she was able to return to her own home where she now had a live-in carer. She was wonderfully cared for by everyone
at the Cotswold Home and she and all her family are hugely grateful.

I was most impressed with the Elizabeth Finn Care Home at Bradwell Grove. The staff were all excellent and very kind and helpful. The home is well run, the accomodation comfortable and there is a nice atmosphere.
The food is good and also the entertainment. The garden is pleasant and well kept.

would have no hesitation in recommending the home to relations or friends.

Very friendly reception and all numerous staff.
Stayed for a week of "respite" and enjoyed good food and conversation at meals and pleasant view of a green landscape. As a first experience, (although 87 years old), it was entirely positive.
He is determined to do as much as he can for himself but
very friendly and accessible staff always there to help.

After falling an breaking her pelvis my mother was discharged from hospital into the wonderfully caring, compassionate and supportive environment of The Cotswold Home. Following intensive physiotherapy, she regained her mobility and continued enjoying all the comfort and benefits the home was able to
offer until her long and happy life ended just before Christmas.

My sister initially came to the home for respite. Her life changed dramatically when she had a urine infection. She then became a resident. For the next two years, she was so well cared for from the nursing staff who looked after her with such kindness, to the other carers who cared for her social life.
Everything was so well thought about from daily newspapers, hairdresser and even manicures. The responsibility of getting it right for your nearest is great, but I can honestly say I can only feel grateful to the home for making years special.

From the initial phone call, I felt relief that someone was there to help. They worked quickly and efficiently to help get Mum out of hospital and into their beautiful home. We knew we were looking at Palliative care for a short period of time but they made Mum's last week a calming and peaceful experience.
Everyone was so helpful and understanding. It is just a shame Mum didn't have longer to enjoy her surroundings.

The Cotswold Home accepted my husband for care at very short notice, he being in hospital, able to leave but no care package in place. I cannot express my admiration for the standard of care and all the staff which was, and are, excellent.
He returned home "100% better" in his words and was very happy
there, so much so that he is happily returning for 2 weeks respite care in June which gives me 100% peace of mind. For him to go there was the best decision I have made on his behalf.

The Cotswold Home is an outstanding care and nursing service. I would have no hesitation in making an unreserved recommendation. My mother had limited mobility but was encouraged to participate in many activities, the occasional outing and made friends at the dining table! She appreciated the excellent facilities. Gradually the physical abilities declined until she required full nursing care. This was well-planned and executed
with medical input as necessary. Her choice of pureed food and thickened drinks were always nicely presented and given right to the end. She retained her mental faculties and astute perception, enjoying conversations with staff sharing knowledge and life's ups and downs. She was fortunate to have a light sunny room looking into the orchard and country fields beyond - good bird watching over the years. The Cotswold Home became her home and the little oasis of calm for us as a family to visit and spend time, with support from us as well as her.

I feel the home is comfortable but on entry it is more like a hotel - reception area and dining room in particular. My father's room appeared to be smaller than some of the others but maybe that was his choice. I feel that fresh flowers in the public areas should be provided by the home and not the
resident's families who are given a very small budget to work with.

I had 10 days respite care and found it a very agreeable time. The staff were most attentive and kind and gave one the feeling of being very safe. The food was very good and very varied. I did find the bed and chair in my room rather uncomfortable but we always like our own beds.
I would recommend
the home to anyone as the standard of care is extremely high.

Rares has an established background in care. Originally from Romania, Rares completed degrees in nursing and physiotherapy choosing to focus his career on general hospital nursing. Following his move to the UK in 2014, Rares has built a career in the care home sector and is passionate about creating the best possible environment for those in later life.


Rares is a man of many talents having been a professional footballer at the age of 16 before deciding to take a more academic path and enter university. He has however continued his love of the game, managing a local football team in his home town of Swindon and he is committed to getting involved on a regular basis with the wide range of activities on offer at the home. Rares’s dog Rocco, is now also very much part of home life at The Cotswolds.
