Our dearest and beloved Aunt has spent her last 2 years at Rashwood. The facility itself is second to none. But it's the dedication, warmth and extraordinary levels of care, friendship, and empathy that the whole team provided that elevates the Rashwood experience to outstanding.
Our heartfelt gratitude
and appreciation to the entire team for all their hard work and commitment. Huge thanks to everyone.

I needed post operative care after major surgery before going home. I spent two weeks at The Lodge and from the moment I arrived I was treated with care and respect by all staff. The food is freshly cooked, with a wide choice on the menu, and it is very good in quality and taste. I joined a group of
friendly residents who made me feel part of the community. My time in The Lodge has helped my recovery enormously enabling me to return home and live independently again.

Rashwood Care Home

My Dad had expected to be in Rashwood for 2 weeks following a pacemaker procedure, and he's still there! He hasn't been well enough to go home and has been very happy to stay where he is. The staff are superb, look after him very well, and deal with him with great care and kindness.
The location is
incredible. The grounds are stunning, it's quiet, you can hear the birds singing, the gardens are very well-tended, and the nursing home is surrounded by fields.
Dad has had 4 or 5 very difficult years following my mother's own illness and physical decline and for more than 3 years has been living alone, too far away from me. I knew he would benefit from some TLC, and Rashwood have exceeded my expectations. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff have done all that they can to make Dad feel happy and cared for.
My only regret is that it's expensive and Dad won't be able to stay there permanently. However you get what you pay for and I do believe that Rashwood is worth every penny.
Reply from Rachel Wilson, General Manager at Rashwood Care HomeThank you for taking the time to complete this review. We are very happy to have been able to offer respite for your father and pleased to see that he has settled in so well.

We cannot thank the team at Halliwell Nursing Home enough for the care, compassion, and dignity they showed to my mother-in-law during her five months there. From the very beginning, the staff made her feel safe, comfortable, and truly cared for.
A special mention to the managers, Alison and Karl,
who consistently went above and beyond-not just for my mother-in-law, but for our whole family. Their leadership, kindness, and genuine compassion set the tone for the entire home, and it really shows in the way every member of staff cares for the residents.
Every member of the team treated her with patience, warmth & respect at all times. Communication was always clear and reassuring, which meant so much to us.
The home itself is warm & welcoming, and it's clear that the staff truly care about the people they look after. Knowing she was in such good hands brought us great comfort during a very difficult time.
We will always be grateful to Halliwell and recommend it to anymore who needs care.
Reply from Karl Pay, General Manager at Halliwell Care HomeThank you so much for your incredibly kind words and for taking the time to share your experience.
It was truly a privilege for all of us at Halliwell Nursing Home to care for your mother-in-law during her time with us. We are deeply touched by your comments about the collective team "Alison and I are so fortunate to have a great team", and we will ensure your appreciation is shared with everyone involved.
Your family's warmth, positivity, and support throughout such a difficult and emotional time was incredibly humbling for us all. The compassion and strength you showed right until the end will stay with our team for a long time.
We are grateful that we were able to provide comfort, dignity, and reassurance to both your mother-in-law and your family, and thank you once again for placing your trust in us.
With warmest wishes and heartfelt thanks,
Karl

Reception staff were very helpful, as we arrived it was lunch time 12.30pm. We were taken to see my Aunt Dorothy, said hello, and that we would wait in the lounge, see her after they had fininshed. While we waiting there was a paper to read and other, also told to help ourselves to tea, coffee, cold
drink and biscuit and cake if we wanted also fruit. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly. Everywhere spotlessly clean.

My mother lived at Grove Court from October 2025 until May 2026. She had a terminal diagnosis so we chose Grove Court for their ability to look after her whilst she was relatively well until she needed end of life care.

What a great decision. From the moment she came through the door she, and her family,

were given the best care possible. The nurses and carers did everything they could to make her comfortable and give her the dignity she deserved but the rest of the staff were fantastic too. Everybody worked with a smile and it was impossible to be in the building without being greeted by a smiley face at every corner.

A measure of how much the staff were invested in her was the stream of people who, after they had clocked off, just popped into her room to see how she was doing before they went home.

Superb - we couldn't have asked for more.

I have stayed in a number of care homes in the last year, and this is by far the best. A major contributing factor is the local management who always go above and beyond, and nothing is too much trouble, which reflects in the attitude of the rest of the staff.

My stay here at Eversfield was a short post operative 'respite' one. I was able to gain strength from the comfort and care given by the residential staff, their kindness and cheerfulness were really reassuring - Like walking sunshine.
I particularly appreciated the professional handling of my medication,
which I had felt too tired to deal with on arrival. Any call during the night was answered quickly, and I enjoyed the activities and the friendly, homely atmosphere. With grass and daffodils to look at was such a welcome. I was happy and impressed.

Halliwell provides a wonderful environment for my mother - caring, fun (yes, fun!) and extremely professional. Everybody, from the receptionist through catering staff to carers and nurses, is unfailingly helpful and cheerful. Cleanliness and the quality of the facilities and the food are all excellent.
It isn't cheap, but one really does get a very high level of service for the fees.

I spent a very enjoyable afternoon at the Halliwell on Sunday afternoon celebrating Mother's Day. The staff had made a big effort to make the dining room look special for the occasion. We were served a cream tea and a glass of Prosecco whilst listening to a harpist! The atmosphere was buzzing with conversation

Well done, once again to the wonderful staff!

The Lodge

from Philippa W (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 April 2026

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
We were very pleased with the care my mother received during the 6 years she lived at The Lodge especially as I live 200 miles away. There were always plenty of staff and they were all very caring and kind. While we felt Mums care was excellent their communication with the loved ones was seriously lacking.
I only discovered had a 'key worker' after she passed away. I repeatedly asked for information about her care, but got no serious response. She was clearly on an 'end of life pathway' but this was never communicated to me. I discovered a letter after her death, saying a doctor had been to see her as she had malnutrition. While this was no reflection on her care, I feel I should have been advised of this consultation. A GP appointment was booked around the time of her passing as she had deteriorated and I was not advised of this either. It meant her death was an unnecessary shock. I also found that as a long term resident her general teeth, eye and ear check ups were not done.
Reply from Mark Bennett, General Manager at The LodgeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I am truly pleased to read that your mother experienced such kind, compassionate care during her six years at The Lodge. It is especially reassuring to hear that you felt confident in the team despite living some distance away, and that their kindness and dedication made a positive difference to both you and your mother. We are very proud of the care our team provides, and it is encouraging to see this reflected in your comments. I am, however, sorry to read that some aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations. We take all feedback seriously and see it as an important opportunity to learn and improve the service we provide to the residents and their families. I would very much welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your experience and to discuss the areas you have raised.

I have been a regular volunteer at Grove Court for about five years.
Once a week with another volunteer I visit every room at Grove Court with a shop trolley selling toiletries greeting cards, sweets, chocolates and other treats the residents might like to see.
I also occasionally help at other social
events.
My Dad was a resident at Grove Court for 3 years until his passing in 2023.
I love volunteering at this wonderful home and feel valued.
I can honestly say that all the staff at every level are welcoming, professional, friendly, caring and supportive to all of the residents their families and each other.
In other words a great team who treat everyone with dignity.
Grove Court is the residents home and that is how it feels warm and welcoming.
It is an honour to knock on 61 doors weekly be invited into their home sometimes just to say hello but mostly for a chat and a look at what we sell.
I give Grove Court a five star review and I am proud to be a part of the Grove Court family.
