I have been a regular volunteer at Grove Court for about five years.
Once a week with another volunteer I visit every room at Grove Court with a shop trolley selling toiletries greeting cards, sweets, chocolates and other treats the residents might like to see.
I also occasionally help at other social
events.
My Dad was a resident at Grove Court for 3 years until his passing in 2023.
I love volunteering at this wonderful home and feel valued.
I can honestly say that all the staff at every level are welcoming, professional, friendly, caring and supportive to all of the residents their families and each other.
In other words a great team who treat everyone with dignity.
Grove Court is the residents home and that is how it feels warm and welcoming.
It is an honour to knock on 61 doors weekly be invited into their home sometimes just to say hello but mostly for a chat and a look at what we sell.
I give Grove Court a five star review and I am proud to be a part of the Grove Court family.
Reply from Kelly Lockwood, Home Manager at Grove CourtThank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We are so grateful of the time you give up each week to volunteer with us.

From the minute you walk in the door of The Grove, everyone is so nice and friendly. We had activities every day also they do trips out in the mini bus. The food is outstanding here, and The Grove was so clean. Would stay here again and I was on rest bite.

Excellent care home with brilliant caring staff. Every member of the team is exceptional. When Mum moved in she quickly settled and after just a short time referred to Merlewood as home. Whenever we visit we too are made to feel welcome and nothing is too much for the staff. Mum has had her ups and
downs and the staff have liaised with outside agencies to ensure that her excellent care has continued.
Reply from Debbie Vellender, General Manager at MerlewoodThank you for taking the time to complete this review. Further confirmation of the staff ongoing hard work and team working.

My experience of my Mums life in Grove Court is wonderful. She took quite a lot of convincing to move into a care home but is so glad she did.
She considers the whole team her friends and they look after her so well. Unfortunately she is currently in hospital but the Grove Court team were quick to
spot a problem and take action. Unfortunately for the lovely nurses in the hospital she keeps telling them how wonderful Grove Court is and keeps asking for the team of carers who look after her.
Hopefully she'll be back with them soon.
Reply from Kelly Lockwood, Home Manager at Grove CourtThank you for taking the time to leave us this review. I will share your kind words with the team. I'm very glad that mum is back home with us now, she was so missed!

This is my Sister's second stay at Grove Court. After spending 5 weeks in hospital, we wanted to give her a little longer in a supportive environment before returning home to her flat. Grove Court is such an amazing care home. All residents are treated with much care and love and every member of
staff takes pride in their jobs. The chef and the kitchen team cook nourishing, tasty, home cooked meals each day and they are go out of their way to accommodate any special dietary needs. The Activity Manager and her team produce a daily programme, with varied activities to suit all interests. The home itself is well maintained, together with the grounds. Lastly, and very importantly, the home is managed by a very supportive and caring Manager and Assistant Manager and their attention to detail is very apparent. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone who is looking to place a family member into residential care for any period of time.
Reply from Kelly Lockwood, Administrator at Grove CourtThank you for taking the time to leave his review. It was our pleasure to care for your sister and see her able to return home with the spring back in her step. I will share your kind words with all the team. Kindest regards, Kelly

Our mother spent the last 6 months of her life at Grove Court and we couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional level of care she received there. She was treated with kindness, respect and dignity and always with good humour which helped to make her feel content and secure during the final part of
her life. The facilities and catering were top class and the activities provided and beautiful surroundings ensured that she felt happy and fulfilled. Every one of the staff went out of their way to make sure she was enjoying life and was comfortable and also that we always felt welcome when we visited.
Reply from Kelly Lockwood, Home Manager at Grove CourtThank you for taking the time to leave this beautiful review, which captures life at Grove Court perfectly. It was an honour to care for your mother in the final chapter of her life and she is missed very much by us all.

My father came to Rashwood for two weeks respite. We had all been impressed by a visit of the facilities and the wonderful grounds and my father decided to try it out for a short break. Within a few days he felt relaxed , happy and safe - so much so that he decided to stay long term in a lovely
room overlooking the grounds. All the staff are welcoming and caring and all greet my father by name. The fact that many of them have worked there for several years reflects the friendly and happy atmosphere. The carers are superb - so caring , always cheerful and very skilled. The activity leaders are dedicated to improving the residents wellbeing and provide an excellent variety of activities and social interactions . With lovely food, beautiful gardens and comfy resident lounges, bar and conservatory -I cannot recommend Rashwood highly enough.
I have not seen my father laugh so much and look so happy for many years. Thank you Rashwood.
Reply from Rachel Wilson, General Manager at Rashwood Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review about Rashwood, your fathers respite stay and that he chose to remain with us on a permanent basis. He is a pleasure to spend time with and I am pleased to see he has settled so well and is always so cheerful.

Carehome itself appears well maintained and comfortable and appropriate for its residents and staff. All staff are warm, friendly and professional, particularly the activities team, chefs, reception team and immediate clinical care teams. Clinical care is very attentive, considerate and adaptable and
medically they are extremely knowledgable and intuitive and have a good relationship with the local doctors. Activities team are thoughtful and caring at all times - they are brilliant! Interactions with myself have always been professional, thoughtful and balanced in terms of care needs. Really pleased and impressed with the whole team at Rush Court.

Mum has had wonderful support during her four years at the Elizabeth Finn, especially in evidence with her recent move to a different room where Mum has settled back in very happily and her excellent care has continued. The entertainment team involve mum in activities. Her favourite is visiting the
Lechlade singers, although she still talks about the trip to Farmoor last year, and she will never forget the Virtual Reality experience. Pamper days are a big hit too. She also loves simple visits for coffee in the library, and just generally being around listening to music and chat whenever she can.
From the receptionists to the laundry service and cleaners the support is always there and always friendly. But topping everything, from mum's point of view - the food! Lovely and varied menus and special days and the sweet trolley and hot coffee; waitering and proper napkins; a wine or a sherry available - she loves it!
This is now her home and we couldn't have chosen a better one.
Reply from Rares Pop, General Manager at The Cotswold HomeThank you so much for your kind words. We are delighted to hear how happy your mum is and that she feels so at home with us. Your appreciation of the team truly means a great deal, and we will be sure to share your lovely feedback with everyone.

We're very happy to have had Mum at Rush Court over the last few years. The staff are always very positive and friendly and have a great rapport with her. There is a good deal of refurbishment going on the moment which will provide a freshened dining area in the nursing section together with a cafe.
We're looking forward to sitting in the courtyard in the sun drinking tea with her. I must make a special mention of the 'entertainment' team who are bursting with enthusiasm and novel ideas to enrich the lives of the residents.

My experience directly collates with the personal relationships exercised by staff member and degree to which this is established with me. There are bound to be times when staff shortages affect the ideal and I accept the ups and downs of life in a care home overall.

My mother had advanced terminal cancer and was resident at the Lodge for about a month receiving palliative end-of-life care. All the staff involved with my mother's care were incredilbly understanding about the complexities around end-of-life and symptom management, the psychological as well as the
physical. The Manager and admin staff were also very supportive of me as her daughter during what was a very difficult time which coincided with the Christmas period. The Home is beautifully maintained, has a warm welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff which meant a lot when I was visiting regularly. I am very grateful to the nursing staff and carers at the Lodge for their professionalism, kindness and care of my mother in her last days, every effort was made to make it peaceful and comfortable. I consider the Lodge to be an exceptional residential and nursing home and would recommend it to others.
Reply from Deborah Skinner, General Manager at The LodgeWhat can I say other than thank you so much for this review and for your kind comments. I am rightly proud of The Lodge staff who all try the level best to get it right for every resident. I am delighted that you feel we managed this for you and your mother. Again, thank you.

Respite care for 3 weeks is best shown in the impact on mum's spirits and general wellness. She is relaxed, positive and cheerful - more of which were traits showing at Christmas time. She has loved the company of residents and staff alike and felt welcomed and immediately comfortable. Lovely ambience
in immaculate surroundings, and the care was faultless. Thank you.
Reply from KARL PAY, General Manager at Halliwell Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review.
We are truly delighted to hear how positively your mum's time with us was and how her stay impacted her spirits and overall wellbeing. Knowing that she felt relaxed and comfortable in our care means a great deal to our entire team. Creating a welcoming, supportive environment where people feel at home is always our priority, so your kind words are especially appreciated.
It was a pleasure to care for your mum, and we are grateful for the trust you continue to place on the team when your mum comes into Halliwell. Thank you again for your lovely feedback. We wish you and your family all the very best.

My mum spent 7 weeks in hospital and needed more care and support and from the moment I was greeted at Eversfield by the lovely Chloe I was made to feel comfortable and heard, she listened to everything I said and was very empathetic, she gave me the tour of Eversfield and was very informative, I came
across several members of staff who were all so welcoming.
When it came to the decision of where mum should be hands down Eversfield came out on top.
Mum has now been with the lovely Eversfield team a month now and is starting to settle down, I visit her daily to help with the settling in and have become familiar with most of the staff, the Manager Josephine has been amazing, the chef Glen has accommodated mum's fussy eating, Kate has been amazing too, mum is settling with the help of the activities team, and the lovely carers, Joseph, Sally and Mary are some of the many wonderful team, Tara is so very helpful and has helped me so much, thank you all for taking good care of mum so far
Reply from Kate McDonald, administrator at EversfieldThank you Sandra for such a wonderful review. It's great to see Mum settling in, watching her take part in the chair Yoga yesterday morning was precious and it looked like so much fun. Can't wait to see Mum at the next event.

My mother has been a resident for over three years and we are very pleased with the care she is receiving. The staff look after her well and encourage her to take part in activities within the Home. She likes to walk with the aid of a zimmer frame and is encouraged to do so .
She particularly enjoys
concerts by visiting musicians and this is a regular feature of the activities provided. The team providing social events work hard to provide entertainment and activities throughout the year, producing a stimulating environment.
The meals are good and many alternatives are offered .
The Home looks attractive and comfortable. The different seasons are marked by colourful and attractive decorations. The Dining room is often decorated to mark particular events.
The bedrooms are a bit small but have en-suite facilities and are kept at a comfortable temperature. We're impressed with the efforts to keep the rooms cool in heatwaves.
Regular visits by chiropodist and dentist would be good.
Reply from Rares Pop, General Manager at The Cotswold HomeThank you for your feedback. We're delighted your mother is happy, enjoys the activities, and feels well cared for. We appreciate your comments regarding chiropody and dental visits and will consider how to enhance these services. Your kind words will be shared with the team.

My Mother has been in the care home for about three months.
I think that she is receiving excellent care from the staff.
They are friendly and willing to help when it is needed. Her medical needs are attended to by the Local GP practice, and the on-site staff, with support from hospital staff if required.
The
home is clean and spacious, with a sheltered central garden area and good facilities.
