My brother has transferred here from supported living in Gloucestershire. The transfer of care has gone very smoothly. The staff are supportive and very kind. The communication between the lodge and myself has been excellent. I have been kept well informed on how my brother is settling in. My brother tells me he is happy to have come here.

Since I came here I have had excellent service and respect. If I need any help in any way, I only have to ask and the help is forthcoming. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and we all get along very well. I feel I have many friends. I feel life this is my home now and at times that I have never lived anywhere else. Also I would like to thank all the staff for their friendships - thank you.

My husband receives excellent ongoing support and care. The care team (the same care of individuals) and his GP attended to the home do their best to manage his multiple and changing needs. I'm a very regular visitor and always receive a warm welcome. Other members of the friendly workforce at the home also do their best to keep residents safe in their environment. On the rare occasion any issue arises, I've always been able to discuss any concern. The management values interaction, and my experience is that they quickly resolve any shared problems. My husband and I feel part of a very caring community who assist many needy seniors.

Entirely grateful for nursing home for helping me to care for my husband in his last stage of his life. I cared for him for 2 years, 7 months, and I understood how much work & commitments it takes to look after someone severely ill. I am grateful for nursing home for arranging all meidcal needs for his medical needs in the last days of his life. All staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Thank you.

Reply from Rahi Joshi, Marketing Associate at Freeland House

Thank you for your heartfelt review. We're truly honoured that we could support your husband with compassionate nursing care and medical support during the final stage of his life. Our team is dedicated to providing attentive, respectful care for both residents and their families, and your kind words mean a lot to us.

The dignity and compassion that the Freeland Care Team showed my father was excellent. Dad really felt comfortable and 'at home' in his room. He really enjoyed engaging with the staff on a daily basis. The response from his daily carers when he died was testament to how much they liked him and the relationship he had with them.

My brother has been staying at Freeland House since he left hospital mid October having been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. He is now having palliative care here. The whole experience of his stay has been marvellous. He was able to enjoy his first couple of weeks and constantly said how much he loved it here. Every member of staff are kind, caring and wonderful - they make you feel like a real member of the family. They truly could not have looked after my brother any better and give him and us much comfort and care.

My mum was a resident at the lodge, Freeland House Care Home for almost a year. During her time here, she was well cared for and very happy. From the managers, office staff, activity organisers, nurses and carers, they all made Mum's time here the best it could be. The lodge itself is beautiful and Mum had a lovely room with nice views. Mum took part in many of the activities, jigsaws, bingo, listening to music and the TV but she especially liked the singers that came in and entertained them all. Mum enjoyed being out in the garden, going for walks around the village and a few trips to the local pub for a Guinness. We, as a family, could not have asked for Mum to have had better care. The compassion everyone showed when Mum died on 23rd August 2023 was very comforting to us all. I recommend the lodge 100%.

Since he moved to Freeland House in October 2021, my brother has been very happy and settled. The staff always treat him with respect and work to understand his needs, despite his severe communication difficulties. He can be very difficult about joining in with the activities, but they use persuasion to encourage him and sometimes succeed! The management team is well-led and the staff seem confident and happy in their work, which definitely helps to create a warm and friendly atmosphere for the residents. My brother really likes his spacious room and enjoys the food. Given that it is a very old house, with lots of cosy nooks and crannies, it is as clean as it can possibly be and is obviously well maintained. I would be happy to recommend Freeland House to anyone looking for a safe home for their loved one.

My mother has been a resident of Freeland House for a few years now. I find the staff are very caring and informative about my mother's health and well-being. I do not worry about her as I know she is being looked after. She has a lovely room overlooking the gardens. The carers regularly communicate with me to update me on my mother's health and I am always welcomed when I visit.
