Welcome to The Grange Care Centre in Faringdon. Situated in the tranquil village of Stanford in the Vale, the charming home offers 24-hour nursing care for adults, on a long-term basis or for short-term respite care. They are blessed with a long-serving team of nursing and support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment.

The Grange comprises 40 single bedrooms and 4 companion rooms for couples wishing to share. Most of the bedrooms are equipped with an en-suite W.C. and a hand basin. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the home's light and airy communal day rooms offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films.

At The Grange, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of the activities take place within the home environment and include garden parties, barbecues, arts/crafts and quiz nights. The team empowers individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. As well as being encouraged to enjoy the home's landscaped gardens, residents also enjoy regular days out and seasonal trips further afield.

The Grange's professional catering team delivers nutritionally balanced meals that are appealing to all its residents. The professional food suppliers specialise in delivering high-quality food designed specifically for the healthcare sector.

My husband received first-class care at the Grange so that the last 14 months of his life were very happy. Nothing was too much for the lovely staff. Right up to his last breath they were attentive and kind to both of us. I also run a singing club there and can see how content and well cared for the
residents are.

While my husband is well cared for and looked after, I would have liked him to have some physio included in the package, without having to pay extra, as I pay enough already and should come under the NHS funding. Also, his feet looked after as he is diabetic, under the NHS funding.

My father spent 8 months at The Grange Care Centre and in this time I had no concerns for his well-being.
All the staff at The Grange treated my father with dignity and respect at all times.
When I came to visit I was always welcomed and nothing was too much bother. I would highly recommend The Grange
to anybody who needed the best care.

After nursing my husband with Dementia for many years, when he fell and broke his hip, I could not have him back home. It was a very stressful time because I did not know where he would eventually end up. I was so grateful to have the opportunity for him to spend his last few months in The Grange. It
is such a kind, caring and friendly place. I spent so many hours there with my husband. I always felt very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.

The Grange at Stanford-in-the-Vale always provides a very warm, happy and reassuring environment. It is totally professional and well-staffed. Over the past years, many relatives and friends have spent happy times within its walls. Our neighbour, who is now a resident, has been in other care homes.
She thinks The Grange is the best.

I am generally happy with dads care. There are some very good staff carers. I am not happy with the amount of agency carers. It is very clear as a visitor that regular staff spend most of their time showing agency carers the ropes. A lot of agency staff seem reluctant to interact with residents and
family members, and some appear to be lazy. However, a few agency staff are very good indeed.

My mother has been a resident for 2 and a half years and is very comfortable despite poor mobility. I have recently needed to move my aunt to The Grange, at relatively short notice. The management team were great at helping to arrange a suitable room and enabled me to set it up like her home. They
agreed to have her hearing dog and went out of their way to arrange for its care and safety. Finally, on arrival, my aunt was very distressed and confused but the staff were very kind and soon settled her in.

I have been visiting The Grange about every ten days for a year. I visit a resident with his wife, I believe The Grange to be very well run. The patients are listened to and treated with dignity. The staff are always welcoming. They make an effort to involve residents with a variety of activities. I
am told the food is usually good. I admire the flexibility of the management making residents feel as much as possible. The role of the owner as befriender is quite exceptional.

My Mother has been looked after by The Grange staff and managers since November 2014 after suffering a stroke in 2010. After being housebound at home with many "unknown carers" coming in daily to look after her, she was allocated a room at The Grange and has not looked back. She has many new friends
to talk to, activities to do and entertainment most days. She loves it.

My brother-in-law moved into The Grange 11 months ago his care has been outstanding.
The carers are kind and helpful and treat the residents as a family even down to the resident's families we have made many new friends there.

Mum was a resident for 9 months, in this time she was well cared for by the lovely members of staff who work tirelessly to provide excellent care. As a family we were made to feel extremely welcome and part of the "Grange Family" with mum. In mum's last weeks of life, we were kept informed at all times
of any changes in herself or care. Mum died knowing all the people that cared for her and not a number in a strange hospital. She was treated with complete and utter dignity and as a family so were we.

My Mum was in The Grange for nine months before she died from a stroke. During that time she was always treated very well by the carers, nurses, cleaners and management. They were also friends to us, her relatives. It is situated in a very pretty village and it was easy to take my Mum out in a wheelchair
so she could see 'the outside world'. During the last week of her life, when we knew she was dying, she couldn't have been cared for better. We were always kept informed of any changes. She was treated with dignity while she was alive and while she was dying. I cannot fault The Grange.

Mum arrived at The Grange on 14th December 2017 after a stroke on the 5th October. I have been very pleased with the care mum is receiving. The staff always helpful and polite and are treating mum with respect and kindness always giving her choices. It has been a very difficult time for us as mum although
has dementia lived independently and has been very active until the stroke.
The staff are very supportive to me also in accepting mum's new and very different lifestyle.

The Grange Care Centre is a kind, caring and well run care home. My mother received the best of care and was treated with dignity and compassion during her eight years with them.


She died in March this year and her last weeks were peaceful and she was looked after very well by all concerned.

My mother who died on February 7th, 2018 aged 97 from old age and mixed myeloma first entered The Grange Care Centre in 2016 for respite. We chose it because it was near to her home village of Buckland and with her condition of myeloma it was good to have nursing care. She had also broken both hips.
I also found the staff very willing, caring and friendly. My mother enjoys the food on the whole which was always last. She died in the home and her death was dealt with very well.

I am fortunate to have had The Grange in my life for over 35 years, it has been a constant delight and source of great comfort and support to me and my family over the years. I am extremely passionate about The Grange and consider myself lucky to be employed to do something I love so much. I always put our residents first and will never let The Grange down.
