Welcome to The Grange Care Centre in Faringdon. Situated in the tranquil village of Stanford in the Vale, the charming home offers 24-hour nursing care for adults, on a long-term basis or for short-term respite care. They are blessed with a long-serving team of nursing and support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment.

The Grange comprises 40 single bedrooms and 4 companion rooms for couples wishing to share. Most of the bedrooms are equipped with an en-suite W.C. and a hand basin. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the home's light and airy communal day rooms offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of the guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films.

At The Grange, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of the activities take place within the home environment and include garden parties, barbecues, arts/crafts and quiz nights. The team empowers individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. As well as being encouraged to enjoy the home's landscaped gardens, residents also enjoy regular days out and seasonal trips further afield.

The Grange's professional catering team delivers nutritionally balanced meals that are appealing to all its residents. The professional food suppliers specialise in delivering high-quality food designed specifically for the healthcare sector.

A very dear relative of mind has been at The Grange Care Centre for fifteen months now. I visit her frequently and over the months have got to know the wonderful team of nurses and carers. I cannot praise them enough, she is happy, safe and very well cared for. I am relaxed knowing that she is in such

Mum arrived at The Grange on 14th December 2017 after a stroke on the 5th October. I have been very pleased with the care mum is receiving. The staff always helpful and polite and are treating mum with respect and kindness always giving her choices. It has been a very difficult time for us as mum although
has dementia lived independently and has been very active until the stroke.
The staff are very supportive to me also in accepting mum's new and very different lifestyle.

The Grange Care Centre is a kind, caring and well run care home. My mother received the best of care and was treated with dignity and compassion during her eight years with them.


She died in March this year and her last weeks were peaceful and she was looked after very well by all concerned.

My mother who died on February 7th, 2018 aged 97 from old age and mixed myeloma first entered The Grange Care Centre in 2016 for respite. We chose it because it was near to her home village of Buckland and with her condition of myeloma it was good to have nursing care. She had also broken both hips.
I also found the staff very willing, caring and friendly. My mother enjoys the food on the whole which was always last. She died in the home and her death was dealt with very well.

My Mother was a resident of The Grange for the last 4 weeks of her life. From first contact to discuss her admission, through the detail taken in assessing her and the superb care she received, I have nothing but complete praise and satisfaction. All carers were kind and helpful, without exception,
always having time to talk and explain. Mother had a peaceful end, managed by the superb staff of The Grange. Thank you.

My father was a resident of The Grange for four years until his death aged 91 in January 2017. The Grange provided exemplary care for him during these last years of his life. He was in a kind, safe environment and was happy there. The management and staff of The Grange looked after him very well - they
were reassured that he was being well looked after and was being treated with dignity and respect.

My mother was looked after outstandingly at The Grange. At all times my mother was cared for with dignity and great professionalism. Without appointment called into The Grange Care Centre and was promptly taken to the manager who advised me on mum's care. From then onwards, I was guided by him including assessments of mum to ensure she would be suited and The Grange suited her. Equipment was purchased to aid mums needs. Mum settled
very quickly and got on very well with all the staff. She was always referred to her by name and they took into account her preferences on daily activities. Having trained nurses on site and a weekly visit from the GP is a great plus. The use of the lounge for family gatherings was always available and very much appreciated.

I recently stayed at The Grange for respite care for 2 weeks. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. My room was adequate with an en-suite toilet and sink. The care staff were excellent, very friendly and treated me with dignity at all times. I would happily go back for respite again and look
forward to seeing the 'PAT' dog!

In March my dad was admitted to The Grange Care Centre as my niece and I could not longer care for him at home with a terminal illness. It took a while for us to "let go" of dad into their care. During this time the manager and staff were kind, patient and understanding.


Dad settled immediately.

He liked his bright room overlooking an attractive patio area with fountain. He loved his big screen TV to watch horse racing and enjoyed chats with the manager and staff. Dad was very happy there, as he deteriorated the carers spent prolonged periods with him to comfort and reassure. I was able to be with dad during the night he died. The night staff were kind and caring to me also. We could not have wished for a better home for dad to end his life.

I have found The Grange to be a wonderful place in a really beautiful part of the village. The staff- all of them- are the nicest people, so very helpful, always letting me know how my mum is and always there for me as well as mum. I'm asked every day how I am and it makes me feel welcome. They always
have time for both of us and mum feels as if she is at home, she loves it here!! Everyone is so nice to her. She is fed well, the food always looks good. I really can't say enough wonderful things about The Grange - because there isn't enough space. Great wonderful etc etc etc.

My mother only spent a few months at the Grange before sadly passing away aged 92. She was firmly of the view that she never wanted to go into a home. Within a few days she was settled in and happy. Because of her deteriorating health I was visiting three or four times a week so quickly met all the
staff involved with Mum. All were extremely friendly and caring. They clearly respected Mums wishes and always allowed her to make choices. The respect for Mums dignity was reinforced as she entered "end of life" care. Staff were regularly checking with me to make sure I was happy with Mums choices be it about feeding and pain relief.

With over 20 years of experience in social care, and having grown up in a village myself, leading a care home rooted in village life feels genuinely special to me.
