The Grange Care Centre

My mother has been a resident for 2 and a half years and is very comfortable despite poor mobility. I have recently needed to move my aunt to The Grange, at relatively short notice. The management team were great at helping to arrange a suitable room and enabled me to set it up like her home. They agreed to have her hearing dog and went out of their way to arrange for its care and safety. Finally, on arrival, my aunt was very distressed and confused but the staff were very kind and soon settled her in.

My father-in-law does well when he sees familiar faces. He has his favourite carers.

I have been visiting The Grange about every ten days for a year. I visit a resident with his wife, I believe The Grange to be very well run. The patients are listened to and treated with dignity. The staff are always welcoming. They make an effort to involve residents with a variety of activities. I am told the food is usually good. I admire the flexibility of the management making residents feel as much as possible. The role of the owner as befriender is quite exceptional.

Mum is always up and looking clean and presentable (if I go in about ten). Always has a drink close to hand and all staff are friendly and chatty. Care home always looks and smells nice and clean too.

My Mother has been looked after by The Grange staff and managers since November 2014 after suffering a stroke in 2010. After being housebound at home with many "unknown carers" coming in daily to look after her, she was allocated a room at The Grange and has not looked back. She has many new friends to talk to, activities to do and entertainment most days. She loves it.

The carers are kind and helpful and treat the residents as a family even down to the resident's families we have made many new friends there.

Mum was a resident for 9 months, in this time she was well cared for by the lovely members of staff who work tirelessly to provide excellent care. As a family we were made to feel extremely welcome and part of the "Grange Family" with mum. In mum's last weeks of life, we were kept informed at all times of any changes in herself or care. Mum died knowing all the people that cared for her and not a number in a strange hospital. She was treated with complete and utter dignity and as a family so were we.

My Mum was in The Grange for nine months before she died from a stroke. During that time she was always treated very well by the carers, nurses, cleaners and management. They were also friends to us, her relatives. It is situated in a very pretty village and it was easy to take my Mum out in a wheelchair so she could see 'the outside world'. During the last week of her life, when we knew she was dying, she couldn't have been cared for better. We were always kept informed of any changes. She was treated with dignity while she was alive and while she was dying. I cannot fault The Grange.

The Grange cared for my mother for the final 9 months of her life. The staff and management were very caring and professional whilst also being very approachable. This facility feels like a family and we as a family felt welcomed every time we visited. In the final few days, the staff were very kind and helped us cope.

My husband was a resident here before me. I am very happy and very well looked after. Everyone is kind and friendly.

A very dear relative of mind has been at The Grange Care Centre for fifteen months now. I visit her frequently and over the months have got to know the wonderful team of nurses and carers. I cannot praise them enough, she is happy, safe and very well cared for. I am relaxed knowing that she is in such excellent hands.

The staff are very supportive to me also in accepting mum's new and very different lifestyle.

The Grange Care Centre is a kind, caring and well run care home. My mother received the best of care and was treated with dignity and compassion during her eight years with them.

She died in March this year and her last weeks were peaceful and she was looked after very well by all concerned.

My mother who died on February 7th, 2018 aged 97 from old age and mixed myeloma first entered The Grange Care Centre in 2016 for respite. We chose it because it was near to her home village of Buckland and with her condition of myeloma it was good to have nursing care. She had also broken both hips. I also found the staff very willing, caring and friendly. My mother enjoys the food on the whole which was always last. She died in the home and her death was dealt with very well.

My Mother was a resident of The Grange for the last 4 weeks of her life. From first contact to discuss her admission, through the detail taken in assessing her and the superb care she received, I have nothing but complete praise and satisfaction. All carers were kind and helpful, without exception, always having time to talk and explain. Mother had a peaceful end, managed by the superb staff of The Grange. Thank you.

My father was a resident of The Grange for four years until his death aged 91 in January 2017. The Grange provided exemplary care for him during these last years of his life. He was in a kind, safe environment and was happy there. The management and staff of The Grange looked after him very well - they were reassured that he was being well looked after and was being treated with dignity and respect.

Whenever we visited The Grange Care Centre, we found the carers were friendly and the management were always available to answer any queries we had. All in all, we felt that we made the right decision for my aunt to be cared for.

My mother was looked after outstandingly at The Grange. At all times my mother was cared for with dignity and great professionalism. It is a warm, friendly place with caring staff who are interested in what they are doing. This shows, management is superb. My mother enjoyed the last few months of her life in a place where all our family felt she could not have been better placed. Thank you.

Without appointment called into The Grange Care Centre and was promptly taken to the manager who advised me on mum's care. From then onwards, I was guided by him including assessments of mum to ensure she would be suited and The Grange suited her. Equipment was purchased to aid mums needs. Mum settled very quickly and got on very well with all the staff. She was always referred to her by name and they took into account her preferences on daily activities. Having trained nurses on site and a weekly visit from the GP is a great plus. The use of the lounge for family gatherings was always available and very much appreciated.

I recently stayed at The Grange for respite care for 2 weeks. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. My room was adequate with an en-suite toilet and sink. The care staff were excellent, very friendly and treated me with dignity at all times. I would happily go back for respite again and look forward to seeing the 'PAT' dog!
