My relative spent his last few years at Prebendal House. Covid was obviously the worst time to have someone in care but facilitated regular calls made the whole thing more bearable. The dedication of the staff was beyond excellent. Sadly, no one from the family was there when my uncle passed. The knowledge
that he wasn't alone and was with people he knew and who stayed with him during that moment, really offers a huge comfort to us. What was really great is that initially, he was living in a spacious independent flat on the premises and was able to move into full-time care as his condition worsened. This transition was simple and not a shock to him. I really feel this helped his quality of life in his last few months. Prebendal is such a beautiful, restful place. It is idyllic in many ways, not just in the setting but their staff really go above and beyond.

The difficult decision to move my formerly independent 98-year-old mother into a care home during a Covid pandemic was taken out of necessity and with much apprehension. Walking into Old Prebendal House set my mind at rest. It is a beautiful Cotswold building set in lovely gardens, but it was the warm
reception and attitude of the staff that most impressed me. The Director of Care is obviously passionate about providing a quality of care that puts the needs of residents first and foremost. My mother moved into a beautiful room overlooking a pretty courtyard and the kindness, care and consideration of all the staff made her feel at home remarkably quickly. With their professional support, she has progressed from being unable to get out of bed unassisted, to walking to a regular exercise class. I cannot thank the staff enough for creating such a friendly, supportive and homely atmosphere and to know my mother is safe and cared for.

This is a beautiful calm and welcoming care home. The Management and staff are all very kind and helpful. They have been very attentive to my parents-in-law at a difficult time. The building itself has a lot of character and has been recently refurbished and is set in charming gardens. I highly recommend

I could not wish for a better care home for my mother and father. The surroundings are idyllic, and the care staff are very kind and professional. When my father arrived just a few weeks ago after being discharged from hospital with spinal infection, he was extraordinarily thin and barely mobile, spending
most of his day in bed. In the short time he has been at the Old Prebendal house, he has made a remarkable improvement: he has regained his appetite and good spirits and can walk on his own with a zimmer frame. Thank you!

In these difficult Covid times, the staff have always let us know how my aunt is and if anything amiss has happened. We have been contacted on a regular basis and know she is in good care and well looked after. The staff are always keen to help when we are having to remotely manage her care from abroad
and never impatient when dealing with long-distance phone calls. It is extremely comforting to know she is in good hands.

My elderly friend came into the home at very short notice and the staff have been delightful towards her. Always positive and always helpful, one of them even offering to dance with her at an afternoon prosecco party! The staff's wealth of experience and smiling stance means that difficult situations
are diffused very easily and my friend has fallen in love with all the nurses. One of the key questions to be addressed by my friend was "What is the food like?!" I am happy to say she is thrilled with the food and the fact that if she has a special preference, they will prepare it for her. I would recommend this care home to everybody. In fact, I am thinking of putting my name down now!

I stayed at The Old Prebendal House for 9 nights following a hip replacement operation, after which I had spent four night in the hospital. The apartment where I stayed was comfortable, and I was impressed by the thoughtfulness that had gone into equipping it for my needs - a raised lavatory seat with
arms, an adjustable bed for heights and for raising the head or feet ends as needed and chairs with arms and seat high enough for my needs. The staff were kind, caring and respectful. The views of the garden were lovely from my sitting room and bedroom windows, and a number of staff accompanied me for a short walk. The atmosphere is happy and caring, and I felt ready and able to cook a meal when I came home after respite care. The medical report from the hospital was respected, and the necessary medications and injections were given to me.

This house is set in the beautiful Cotswold countryside which is steeped in history, surrounded by beautiful gardens with a river running through. This perfect mansion has a large number of associated cottages and flats all around and a very old historic church right next to the manor. The management
and staff are excellent in all respects. My stay was during the viral period and I feel I cannot comment fairly, but the staff coped extremely well. catering was out of this world. More facilities (swim pool) and activities needed, but very relaxing.

My brother bought a flat in Old Prebendal Court about a year ago. The location and gardens are delightful, the flat comfortable, well-appointed and, because it is on the upper floor, light. He was able to take his meals in Old Prebendal House, which also provided cleaning, laundry and other services.
Unfortunately, his health decayed rapidly and he could not enjoy his flat for long. Fortunately, he was able to transition smoothly to nursing care in Old Prebendal House, where he remains.

My mother was a fiercely independent lady who knew exactly what sort of accommodation she wanted. She loved the flat she purchased - the views over the river and gardens are so beautiful. She was reassured, as was I, that the House was on hand if needed. The staff are all so helpful. Sadly she had to
transfer to the House for her last few days because of illness, but because she knew all of the staff this was a place she felt safe in. As a family, we feel that we couldn't have found a better place for her last few years.

My mother has been resident on The Old Prebendal estate for nearly 10 years since early 2019 in the care home, previously in an apartment in the court section. My father was also in the care home for several years, he has now passed on. I have nothing but respect, admiration and gratitude for the care

The staff took my mother under their wing following her hospital stay. She is now a permanent resident and we cannot praise highly enough the care and attention she has received. Having been here in the past when recuperating from a hip replacement, I returned about ten days ago after collapsing at home whilst caring for my husband, who has early dementia. I have again experienced the greatest kindness and good care which the staff here give to all the residents - either full

Adrian's job role is varied - looking after all things maintenance in the main house and also with the independent living cottages and apartments. He ensures all equipment at the home is regularly serviced and is also our chief Fire Warden.


He is a familiar face to our Court Residents who he drives to Burford weekly for their shopping trip!

Theo started with us at the Old Prebendal House in 2017 as a Care Assistant, since then we have supported him to explore a different career path as our Groundsman; Allowing him to put his horticultural skills to good use by sculpting and maintaining the beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces on the Estate.
