My mum has recently moved into Birdscroft Nursing Home and was not in a great way when she moved in. I live in Australia and my sister is not in good health at the moment. We cannot fault the care she has received and the beautiful staff who have gone above and beyond in every way possible to help her settle into her new home. The staff have made her feel very special. I'm glad I got to visit and can rest assured my mum is in the best hands.

I would recommend this care home to anyone who asked me due to the care and compassion shown towards my mum whilst she resided here. The food was always described by my mum as plentiful and delicious and she was never short of a cup of tea or a biscuit. We were able to personalise her room and bring some of her own furniture. All the staff took the time to speak to my mum and when I phoned or visited we were always given a good update by people who appeared to genuinely know my mum. The staff work so hard here, it may not be the ritz but it is homely just how my mum liked it.

The care, compassion and respect that were shown to my mum, my brother and I when my mum was ill and sadly passed away were exceptional, I cannot thank them enough.

My mum was in the late stages of dementia when she moved into Birdscroft Nursing Home, we cannot thank the management and staff enough for the kindness, care and compassion they not only showed to my mum before she sadly passed away but also to my dad. Whenever he visited mum the staff were there to comfort dad when mum was having a bad day, they even made sure he had eaten and if not would offer him something to eat and drink.

We found all the staff very professional and always happy to help with any problems, the home was always clean and good home cooking, I can highly recommend Birdscroft and once again would like to thank the management and staff for the care that mum received during her time there.

My mother has been in Birdscroft for just over two years.
The staff are fabulous and always happy to help. We are always greeted with a smile when we arrive.
Over this time the home has definitely improved. Many of the resident's rooms have been updated as well as the communal areas. Cleanliness is excellent.
We have attended a couple of functions where relatives were invited to attend. The last event being a summer barbecue, complete with entertainment.
The gardens are now looking much nicer with the introduction of pergolas and grapevines.
There is a wide range of regular activities, with entertainers and animal visits. Bedridden patients are also included with room visits.
Recently a tropical fish tank and two budgerigars have been introduced for the patient's stimulation. This appears to have gone down very well with the residents. My understanding is that more is planned once funding is secured.

Could an external visit be planned to a garden centre or tea room at some point?

The staff were very caring and looked after my father well. He had a lovely room with a shower which was very good on the ground floor. It was overlooking the garden. The food was always good and I feel relieved that my Dad spent his last days at Birdscroft and loved it. This is indeed a good feeling.

We were always welcome to visit him at any time of the day and were always offered tea. The nurses kept us informed of everything and even all the carers were very informative. It was a pleasure seeing my Dad settled in so well at Birdscroft. Thank you to everyone at Birdscroft.

My grandmom has been in Birdscroft Nursing Home for the last 1.5 years. I would say that the care is excellent. As the home is small and has a limited number of residents, they look after my granny very well. They allocated a specific nurse/carer who looks after my granny and whenever I go and visit her, she explains in detail her medical condition. I suggest everyone go and have a look at the home before making up your mind.

My Nan has been at Birdscroft nursing home for the past months and despite we were not keen for her to go into care, we were pleasantly surprised by the professionalism, welcome and support we received from the Manager and staff at the home. The whole atmosphere is homely, dining room as you would expect in a good restaurant and the food is really good. We visit at various times of the day and week, so far we found that not only our Nan but all residents are treated with great respect. The staff knows us very well as if we have been there for a long time. Now with the good weather, we found that Nan and other residents are enjoying themselves in the garden, even having lunch under the pergola in the garden. Thank you for looking after our Nan so well.

My mother was a resident at Birdscroft for a short period of time. Both my sister and I found the home to be very caring, all the staff were very good with all the residents every time we visited. The activities were great and it was a pleasure visiting her and the home. All credit goes to the dedicated team and senior management.
