My mother has dementia and is not mobile, she is not really aware of her surroundings.
Overall the home is good, the staff are excellent very kind and caring and provide a great standard of care to my mother.
The home itself is very basic but always appears clean.
There is a wide range of activities
for those who wish to join in & special days are celebrated.
The cost is ridiculous, I do not know how this is justified. I would want 5* luxury for that.
Reply from Oksana Savka, Home manager at Birdscroft Nursing HomeDear Julie, thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your insights and I have passed your comment to the senior management team. Please feel free to contact me directly so we can discuss how to resolve this. My mother has been a resident at Dene Place, West Horsley since October 2021.
The carers and all the staff are very caring, friendly and professional.
Nothing is ever too much trouble and all the carers/staff bend over backwards to make life as comfortable as possible with a 'homily atmosphere'.
My
mother has settled in very well, all her care needs are met. But, most importantly my mum is happy to be living at Dene Place.
So a big thank you from myself (and also my sister) for all the wonderful ongoing care that you provide.

My 88-year-old father-in-law has been a resident at Dene Place since May 2024, and we could not be more grateful for the care he receives. Moving a loved one into a nursing home is never an easy decision, but the team at Dene Place made the transition incredibly smooth and welcoming.
The staff are
the true heart of the home. They treat him with the utmost dignity, patience, and genuine affection, which has given our family immense peace of mind. He has a comfortable room that truly feels like his own space, and, when he is able to, he enjoys spending time looking at and relaxing in the beautiful gardens. It is so reassuring to visit and see him settled, content, and well-looked-after in such a lovely environment. Communication with the family has been excellent, and we always feel welcome and informed whenever we visit. Thank you to everyone at Dene Place for your dedication, kindness, and for making it a home away from home for him. Highly recommend!

Since a change of management, the welcome and atmosphere at the home has greatly improved, and it smells clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. The two gentlemen I visit, who both have considerable needs, are well cared -for and appreciate the attention they receive. I can see that bedrooms which were
dull are gradually being cheered up with pictures etc. Communication with the home ( by phone, in my case) is prompt and efficient. I understand that the food is good: it certainly looks and smells nice! Special occasions and events are marked with celebrations for all to enjoy, and visitors are invited to attend.
