Seaview nursing home is a lovely very clean nursing home.
The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful in every way !!!

My friend has settled in really quickly, and I do feel that this is due to the way the staff treat their residents here. I have visited several nursing/ care homes and none have ever come anywhere near to this place. It's such a relief to know that at last my friend is getting the care he needs and deserves. Fully recommend this lovely home.

My husband has been several months at Seaview, and we are happy to say he is very well cared for, with kindness, and thoughtful staff help him be aware, with conversation, and humour, as well as a professional handling of his needs. No matter who is on duty there is uniform kindness shown to my husband and ourselves when visiting. Manager, Carolyn Volker, from the first, has been available, and listens to any thoughts we have about new situations as they arise, and you never have to wonder who to approach, in any event.

My Father has been resident here for a few years now. He is not mobile and needs to be hoisted out of bed daily. He also has dementia.

The staff at this nursing home are so warm, cheerful and friendly. The really take care of the residents and my father. My father has many activities from painting, to picnics in their gardens. He enjoys sitting in their home cinema room and watching the big screen. He is always happy and smiley. Good communication from the nursing home too. It's a lovely atmosphere in a beautiful building and the care providers are fantastic.

Since a change of management, the welcome and atmosphere at the home has greatly improved, and it smells clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. The two gentlemen I visit, who both have considerable needs, are well cared -for and appreciate the attention they receive. I can see that bedrooms which were dull are gradually being cheered up with pictures etc. Communication with the home ( by phone, in my case) is prompt and efficient. I understand that the food is good: it certainly looks and smells nice! Special occasions and events are marked with celebrations for all to enjoy, and visitors are invited to attend.

My mother who was suffering wth late stage dementia was admitted to Seaview in late October last year when my father who was her carer was also diagnosed with cognitive impairment and admitted to hospital and then a care home himself. Sadly my mother passed away on the 8th of June but I have nothing but praise and thanks for all the staff who cared and looked after her during her time at Seaview they made her more comfortable.

I wanted to express my gratitude to all the staff who were on duty on 8.2.25; the day our mum died. Mum had been increasingly poorly, and on chat day it was clear things weren't good. My sisters and I were in with Mum. The nurse was in touch with the Dr. and kept us informed. The carers kept coming in to check on Mum and bring as much-needed tea. We were given the space to be with Mam during her feral hours, but know support was there id needed. When Mum died the staff continued to treat her with kindness and dignity; and us with hugs, kind words and compassion.

Each time I visit my Nan the staff have gone above and beyond the care and attention they give her is superb. We recently celebrated her birthday at Seaview Nursing Home and the staff could not have been kinder or lovelier, they made space for us in the dining room, organised tea and coffee and a cake which included a mini cake for the two other family members attending. They were on hand when we needed letting in and out, all in all we can't thank them enough.

What a truly wonderful afternoon we were given by the staff at Seaview Nursing Home for our mothers birthday, 24 family members join mum for her birthday celebrations in the dining room. The staff had decorated the room with balloons and moves tables and decorated them and it all looked beautiful. Coffee and tea was provided an incredible birthday cake was made for us, the cake looked and tasted beautiful. We were so thankful at how all very kind and friendly staff went so above and beyond to give us and mum the most perfect afternoon. We cannot thank you all enough.

The care given to my mother is very good and the staff are friendly and approachable.
Mum chooses not to eat in the restaurant so her meals are kept warm under a heat lamp and often dry and unappetising by the time it gets to her (maybe they can look at this procedure). The building itself is very tired and dated and would benefit from a deep clean. Mum is in a very small room resembling a corridor and has been promised on numerous occasions, a larger more comfortable room (as boasted on their websites), but it has been 5 months now and she remains in the room she was admitted into. This does upset her a bit with what she calls ‘false promises’.

I’m not sure about the facilities as Mum’s a bit of a loner. It would be nice if a physio visited weekly and helped with exercise as she is getting terrible muscle wasting. I think this should be a mandatory part of the care package as mum literally walks on average 100 steps a day. But I guess that the most important thing is that mum is comfortable and the staff make her feel welcome.

Reply from Francesca Ddungu, Manager at Seaview Nursing Home

I am glad to hear that you feel the care your mum receives is excellent and that the staff have made her feel welcomed and comfortable. I will discuss with the kitchen team an alternative to your mums eating pattern and and choice. The building itself was built in 1897 and can take a lot to...

My first impression - nursing home was clean, tidy, and warm. Receptionist very friendly towards me, able to show me to the room of the person I was visiting. Room very tidy and clean. Drinks by bed. TV on. My friend was very happy with everything at the home. I also spoke to the manager and carer who popped into the room while I was visiting.

I was very impressed with my visit. No issues at this nursing home. Good on all the staff I saw.

So happy for Seaview to look after Dad.
He is being cared for so well, and the staff/patient ratio is excellent. The staff are caring, sensitive and attentive.

My parents had their 66th wedding anniversary on the weekend, and we had arranged to bring Dad home to be with Mum on their special day, but Dad wasn’t well enough. The staff saved the day by making a beautiful table for us in the lounge, complete with Buck’s Fizz; we were so touched, and we had a very special family occasion to remember. Thank you, Seaview.
