Over all time Dene Place Care Home has 50 reviews.
They welcomed her with open arms, settled her in and for the next three weeks of her stay made sure she was comfortable, cared for and well fed.
Their policy of allowing access at nearly all times (plus being able to bring in my dog to entertain my mum!) was superb and meant I was able to visit her as my schedule allowed.
Their care was 2nd to none and after the ongoing refurbishment I am certain that the ascetics of the building will match the quality of the staff.
The carers and all the staff are very caring, friendly and professional.
Nothing is ever too much trouble and all the carers/staff bend over backwards to make life as comfortable as possible with a 'homily atmosphere'.
My mother has settled in very well, all her care needs are met. But, most importantly my mum is happy to be living at Dene Place.
So a big thank you from myself (and also my sister) for all the wonderful ongoing care that you provide.
Astrid (daughter of Lise)
The staff are the true heart of the home. They treat him with the utmost dignity, patience, and genuine affection, which has given our family immense peace of mind. He has a comfortable room that truly feels like his own space, and, when he is able to, he enjoys spending time looking at and relaxing in the beautiful gardens. It is so reassuring to visit and see him settled, content, and well-looked-after in such a lovely environment. Communication with the family has been excellent, and we always feel welcome and informed whenever we visit. Thank you to everyone at Dene Place for your dedication, kindness, and for making it a home away from home for him. Highly recommend!
I can't praise the staff here enough for caring for my mum who has been here for 5 months now. They treat her with respect, care and nothing is too much for them. The home has a warm friendly presence no matter what time of the day you go and visit. Would highly recommend.
Dene Place is a very happy (and efficient) home, where my father has been happily settled since June. The staff are all friendly and caring - they even greet my often muddy dog with enthusiasm when he comes along for a visit. The food is freshly cooked and delicious - for the first time in a while, my dad is really enjoying his food. The rooms are all spotless. The team is run by the very professional, knowledgeable and friendly manager who sets the tone for a welcoming environment. She not only knows all the residents by name but also their individualities. I highly recommend Dene Place.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your father in our care. It is always nice to hear words like "friendly and caring" being used to describe our care. We will certainly pass your comments on to the manager. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your fathers stay as comfortable as possible.
We are very lucky to have found Dene Place.
Hello and thank you for sharing such a wonderful review for Dene Place Care Home. We are thrilled to hear that your mum thinks of the home as her own and that the staff are always so "kind" and "considerate" to all residents. We are sorry to hear of your mum's recent fall although are glad she was...
The staff have been caring, attentive and thoughtful throughout my mother's stay. The flexibility to make her room homely made a big difference to her happiness. The staff were always supportive of her attempts to integrate and make the most of the facilities. The team were proactive in making modifications to the room to ensure it fitted my mother's needs. In particular, they were there for her in her final minutes. I highly recommend this care home.
Thank you for your kind words. We are saddened to hear about your loss. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
My father has been a resident of Dene Place for 4.5 years. The residents are always placed at the heart of the service and as a result of this, my father continues to thrive at the age of 95 years. This is due to the high standards of care he receives from skilled carers and nurses who genuinely know and understand their residents' needs and preferences. Many of the staff have been working at the home for several years which provides consistency of care and creates a lovely homely feeling for residents and their families. The home is run well by the manager and her team are a credit to her. The activities programme keeps my father's interest in living a good life. They include quizzes, painting, cooking, poetry, talking, exercise, team games, music, yoga, singing, dancing and more. My father is quite clear that this is a good place and he doesn't want to go anywhere else.

It was clear from the outset that the care extended not only to my husband but care for myself and my family, which was greatly received.
I would really like to thank the staff personally for their kindness and sensitivity, albeit for a short period of time.

During my period of respite I received polite, caring and friendly support, service and attention.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback. Thank you for choosing Dene Place for your stay.
When it suddenly became impossible for me to continue to care for my husband at home, the manager at Dene Place Care Home found him a room there as a matter of urgency. It was agreed from the start that this would be on a trial basis as my husband has Alzheimer's. Staff received him with the utmost kindness and made every effort to help him settle in. He enjoyed the wonderful garden in the fine June weather. After a few weeks, it became apparent that his condition actually required the attention of a more specialist dementia home, and he was quickly found a room in another care home. The transfer was carried out seamlessly and kindly. I am incredibly grateful to all the staff at Dene Place Care Home and would recommend the home to anybody.
Thank you for your feedback. We are really pleased to hear that Dene Place did everything they could to make the transition of your Husband into care, and then to another home, as easy as possible. Hopefully, you have gone away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
Resident's families were most kindly invited to celebrate the Coronation by joining them for the Monday Bank Holiday. We turned up just as the heavens opened, this is England after all! The staff were so kind and the plans sufficiently flexible that we all joined in a quiz relating to the Coronation itself, followed by all sorts of fun involving passing large sponge balls around, and batting balloons with foam sticks. We were encouraged to bring our picnics into the lounge, where we were able to sit and eat with my mother, who was provided with a marvellous buffet lunch by the staff. Then there was further entertainment, with a lot of laughter and singing. The house had been beautifully decorated with flags and bunting and the atmosphere was very jolly. Thank you Dene Place for a very happy day (photographs are on Dene Place’s social media page, and show clearly how much everyone enjoyed themselves).
We appreciate you taking the time to leave such a lovely review. The staff are kind and very friendly. Put new residents at their ease. We have new cooks, and the food is excellent. The activities are excellent, and the manager finds interest for each resident, plus group sessions to exercise, Wordsearch and spot the difference to use our minds. Televisions in every room 9plus large screens in the dining room and lounge rooms). Health doctors, nurses and carers. The manager makes sure everything runs smoothly and solves any problem we might have.

Very caring and helpful staff. Always willing to respond to requests about relatives and, in general, lovely older but refurbished and modern inside. Building spacious. Rooms with ensuite and all amenities. The home is in a lovely rural setting with a large garden.

Dene Place found a room for Mum at short notice when she had an eye operation, so couldn't cope at home. Her room is large, with a lovely outlook over the garden and fields, and wild animals (rabbits, deer, horses) can sometimes be seen. The staff have been very friendly and caring, and Mum says she likes the food. They brought her a new TV when the old one was playing up. Her only complaint is that the bed is not as comfortable as her bed at home!
