Lovely staff. Very helpful. My mum has been well looked after at the Dene place care home. They seem to look after the residents well plus every so often have entertainment for them. Would highly recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are happy to hear you feel like a part of our Dene Place family. We hope to continue providing your mother with the best possible care.
Dad became a resident of Dene Place just before Christmas 2021 following a diagnosis of an untreatable brain tumour at the age of 86. The six weeks he spent at Dene Place before he sadly passed away, provided precious time for the family to spend with him. The whole team provided amazing care for Dad during this time, particularly as his condition deteriorated. Their support and flexibility for the family, and particularly my mother, to visit Dad was hugely appreciated.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are sorry for your loss, please accept our condolences. It is nice to hear that you felt you as a family were supported whilst Dad was in our care. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your dad received the best possible care.
Some of the staff are very good. But the agency staff that are brought it, while properly trained, don't know the ropes sometimes. You do get the feeling they're all too often "shorted staffed". That said, there are positives! Dene Place is clean, well maintained, in a peaceful, rural setting. Residents are certainly treated with dignity, though how promptly this is done may vary. I do feel that being here has helped my recovery considerably.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is nice to hear that you feel being in our home has aided your recovery. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Dad became a resident in March 2021 following a two-week stay in hospital for severe COPD. He also suffered from diabetes and early-onset dementia. The staff did a wonderful job of getting him settled and making it home. They managed to keep him safe from Covid during the height of the pandemic by following a stringent testing and hygiene regime. Dad started to refuse medication and food at the end of September. In consultation with his GP and nursing staff, it was decided to respect Dad's wishes and keep him in the familiar surroundings of Dene Place, rather than admit him to the hospital. Despite Dad's challenging behaviour, staff continued to try and gently encourage him to take his medication and eat, tempting him with favourite meals and special orders. Unfortunately, Dad continued to refuse both and got progressively weaker until he died peacefully in his sleep in mid-October following a visit. It's comforting to know Dad was cared for with compassion during his time at Dene Place. With sincere thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry to hear about your loss, please accept our condolences. It is lovely to hear that while your dad was in our care you felt he was cared for and comforted. Hopefully, you can go away feeling like Dad had the best possible care.
There is a good variety of food and her room is comfortable with beautiful views of the grounds. There are plenty of outside seating areas.
If I have any concerns I can contact the home easily.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad to see how much your mother is enjoying the activities and social life at Dene Place. Thank you again for your review.
My Grandfather is staying at Dene Place for short-term respite. He was made extremely comfortable by the staff at the home and is enjoying his time at the home. The food has been good, and the room is comfortable and meets his needs. The gardens and outside spaces are beautiful and very peaceful.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We are happy to hear that your Grandfather is enjoying his stay with us. Please let us know if there is anything further we can do to make his stay as comfortable as possible.
The home is well run and the staff are warm, friendly, helpful and professional.
I feel so pleased and assured that she is being well looked after. Thank you.
It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Thank you for your kind words.
The overall standard of the home is very good care and support are excellent and the staff are friendly and attentive. There is an extensive programme of activities which residents are encouraged to take part in. Overall 9 out of 10.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your father-in-law in our care.
My Dad came to Dene Place for palliative care in December 2018. The care he received was outstanding. The first seven months he was well enough to enjoy his life here. He joined in with every activity and there were many - every day something was going on. Quizzes, cooking, craftwork, trips out. This suited my Dad, as he always liked to be busy. The staff were so friendly - I was always welcomed and offered tea and cake. When my Dad was nearing the end of his life, he was looked after with care and dignity. Ever day, even to the last day of his life, he was washed and shaved and made comfortable. He was happy here, calling it a home from home. I was happy too because I knew Dad was being looked after. Dene Place is a wonderful, happy care home, and I would highly recommend it.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind comments. We are very sorry about your loss. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you and your family through such a difficult time.
In the event, my mother-in-law's stay was only three and a half weeks. During that time she was assessed with dementia and it was thought by the Home Manager that a secure dementia unit would be more appropriate for her.
During this short period of time, Dene Place lived up to the high expectations that we expected and my mother-in-law was extremely happy there.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very delighted to hear you found your mother-in-laws short stay beneficial. We really wish you and your family the very best.
We recently held my dad's birthday party at Dene Park so mum could be part of it and the staff could not have done more for us.
I'm so pleased this is the care home my mum is in.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review, Hazel. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with mum in our care.
Moving an elderly parent into the care system is a decision of the utmost importance to get right. It is a period of high stress especially for the new resident who is likely to be somewhat bewildered by the experience. From the very start, Dene Place has been outstanding. From the senior management to the chef the care has been of the highest order. All work to ensure that their residents quality of life, in what is often their final years, is full of fun and empathy. Thank you.
Thank you for such a lovely and genuine review Chris. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.
This care Home gave my father-in-law the best last 6 months of his life. They showed nothing but respect and promoted his dignity and individuality at all times. I also witnessed this was how they treated everyone in their care. Every single staff member knew everything about my father-in-law's care and was able to answer any questions we had. The activities provided were varied to suit all residents needs irrespective of their capabilities. Nothing was ever to much trouble and they even supported my father in law attending my daughter's wedding which would not have been possible without them. I and my family will always be forever grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to share your lovely review with us. We are saddened about your loss and we can only hope you can go away from this feeling like your father in law received the best care possible.
I am usually visiting at least once a week and always met with kind, friendly, caring staff who are so good to my mother. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel so pleased and assured that she is being well looked after. Thank you. Anything that they are concerned about they always phone me.
Thank you for your praise. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mother in our care.
I had huge reservations about my father moving into a care home. I am happy to say that I couldn't have wished for a better place for him to live. All the staff are wonderful and so kind. My dad hasn't been this happy or looked so well for a long time.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your father in our care. Moving into a care home can be a difficult transition both for the resident and their family, therefore we are delighted to hear dad is settling in well.
The home is always clean and tidy. The staff always friendly and they treat my Nan with kindness and dignity. Very happy with the service they offer.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear your nan is settling in to the home well. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make her stay as good as possible.
I have been visiting an old friend in the home for approximately 7 years. She sustained a stroke and requires full nursing care. She is extremely happy with the high standard of care provided. The home is very friendly, caring and all the staff are very helpful, kind and work extremely hard long hours. Entertainment is good and most of the residents enjoy the variety provided to them. The Manager of the home is very efficient and has a lovely rapport with her staff. The rates of pay for all staff need to improve bearing in mind the hard work they perform.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments on our home. We will certainly share your feedback with the home's manager. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
Great comfort and peace of mind leaving mum, knowing that a trained team are responsible for her care. Pleased to see that she has been encouraged to join in the activities and she is realising how varied, beneficial and enjoyable her day now is. She requires fewer visits from us now!
