Built by CHD Living in 2009, Kings Lodge is a purpose-built care centre, accommodating 42 beds. It's set on a 2 acre site overlooking surrounding sports fields, and is located next to the local primary school.

A primary focus is given to nursing care, with a secondary focus on residential care, short/long-term respite and end-of-life care. Care is also offered to those living with dementia, and specialist support is also offered for wound healing and neurological conditions, including Parkinson's Disease.

As the first purpose-built CHD Living home, Kings Lodge is registered for 44 and features full en-suite wet rooms. Residents can enjoy a wide range of facilities, including a themed pub with pub garden, the use of two internal courtyards, and a hairdressing salon and cinema.

Located in a cul-de-sac close to New Haw Railway Station, the CHD Living-owned home is easily accessible for families. Byfleet, a picturesque town in Surrey, and Brooklands Shopping Centre are also located nearby, offering visitors the chance to explore the area if they wish.

All bedrooms, which overlook an inner courtyard or beautifully landscaped gardens, are well equipped with flat-screen TVs and full en-suite facilities. Residents also have access to a large secure garden, and enjoy home-cooked meals. They have the opportunity to engage in regular community outings, such as garden centres and local attractions, including Brooklands Museum, Wisely Gardens and Painshill Park. Children from the local school and nursery also make regular visits, promoting valuable intergenerational relationships.

Residents can also enjoy the use of entertainment facilities, such as the internet corner and library. Individually tailored activities are also offered, and residents have the choice of five lounges, as well as al-fresco and private dining.

All ground-floor bedrooms have private access, allowing for safe family visits.

I was made to feel really welcome and joined in with singing and dancing. The two hours I spent were really good fun.
The staff were fantastic, food very good.
The singer was able to get most people motivated.

I feel very well looked after at Kings Lodge, the staff are very kind and helpful. The manager is very caring and supportive, nothing is too much for her. The food is very nice, the environment is well cleaned. I feel happy living here and I will recommend King's Lodge to my friends and family.

My sister moved into Kings Lodge at the end of 2021.
The standard of care, and attention to her needs, has been exceptional.
The staff team are amazing and it seems that nothing is too much trouble for them.
The premises are very well maintained, and to a high standard.
My sister says the food is

Very pleased with the care and attention of all staff and their kind and understanding way. Building very modern with all facilities. Rooms are spacious with TV and cupboard space, WC and shower. Lovely large garden to the rear. Very helpful and welcoming to the visitor.

I came from hospital to stay at Kings Lodge for respite care. Since I been here my health has really improved, the staff have been extremely kind and did everything to support me. The home is clean, the food is lovely, and the activities are very good. The new manager is very kind and is always available
to listen to us.
I feel very happy being here. I would recommend Kings Lodge to everyone, this is the best place I have stayed, it feels like home.

My mother has been at Kings Lodge for just over seven months and has received a high level of care and kindness. She celebrated her 100th Birthday in February and the day they gave her was amazing. The activities coordinator arranged entertainment and a special tea for the residents as well as a small
private party for the family. The catering team put on a fabulous buffet. Various shops and organisations had contributed flowers, cards, balloons etc which the Kings Lodge staff has displayed around the room. Nothing was too much trouble and my dear old mum felt very special.

My husband had been at Kings Lodge nursing home for 15 months. The team there are amazing. From cleaners, catering, carers, nursing staff, activities and the manager, treated my husband, and ourselves, with such care, dignity and compassion, which brought tears to our eyes. It is a warm, caring place,
where I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who is looking for a home from home for their loved one.

This is a very well managed establishment with excellent all-round facilities. The management and staff are well trained, professional, and well equipped to execute their tasks at a very high standard. The interior is airy, impeccably clean, hygienic, and well maintained. The external garden is expansive
and well kept; though it could do with a little more TLC. The food is very good, fresh, prepared on the premises and plentiful. The carers are kind, compassionate, and diligent. A special mention must be made to all concerned on how the whole team have coped and managed the dreaded Covid saga with sensitivity, panache, and keeping things simple. This needed lots of hard work, cooperation, and sacrifice at all levels to keep things moving in the right direction whilst keeping the in-house deaths to a minimum. My wife has been at Kings Lodge since 2014 with Dementia. She is being very well looked after. They have made all the adjustments necessary for her to have a safe and secure level of comfort. The Covid issue had meant that when in the past I could visit my wife either in the communal lounge or in her
own room, that has now not been possible as the government guidelines and new laws have had to be followed and the Care Home have to adhere to these laws; Kings Lodge have made all the correct decisions. There was a brief time, when another resident had contracted Covid and had to be put into isolation which is when no one was allowed to see their own relative for security reasons, all totally understood. Fortunately, now we can visit, on a one-to-one basis or two to one basis, in their back-room library. I have always been very happy with the degree of responsibility that the Care Home has adopted, no matter how occasionally tough that might have been. Thank you to all.

We have had a really bad experience with Kings Lodge and absolutely do not recommend this care home. Our mother, who has frontotemporal dementia, was recently there for five weeks. We were shocked at how poorly equipped the home was to deal with our mum. We feel they misled us/social services about
their ability to care for her. They did not have the right hoist or equipment so she was confined to her room most of the time. We also found it really hard to see or speak to mum as they only have one person responsible for organising visits/activities/well-being. They were very slow in following up on requests to support her clinical needs. She seemed to really decline there. It was very hard to get hold of the staff, and we struggled to get updates or meaningful conversations about how mum was. We raised our concerns with the home, social services and CQC. We found the home’s response disappointing as they did not act on our concerns but just tried to defend themselves.

We absolutely recognise that the government restrictions on isolation following admission and visiting have and continue to be a challenge to the people we support and their families. We endeavour to achieve the best continued contact and engagement that we can in the current circumstances.
We have reflected on and investigated the feedback you have provided and liaised with the other professionals involved with your mother’s case. Our conclusion is that whilst we recognise that you were unhappy with the service, there is nothing more that could have been done or would have been done differently. All of the appropriate multidisciplinary professionals were involved in planning and providing for your mothers care. However, we acknowledge that this did not meet your expectations of service.

King’s Lodge Care Centre staff have demonstrated kind and professional care for my mother-in-law, who suffers from vascular dementia. They previously also looked after my father-in-law until his death. I have no doubt at times their behaviour could be challenging, but this has never been reflected in
the professional and caring treatment they have and she continues to receive. Despite the challenges presented by COVID 19 the staff, one member in particular, have facilitated valuable and meaningful communication between my wife and her mother. I have also engaged regularly with the manager and her colleagues and always found them courteous, helpful and supportive.

My mother has been a resident at Kings Lodge since October 2020.
I have found the staff and management to be very helpful, caring and friendly, and my Mum who suffers from Dementia has settled in very well.
From my initial conversation with the manager, I felt it was exactly the right place for her,
nothing is too much trouble and in these demanding times.
I have been to able to visit her weekly and phone her at any time.
Kings Lodge is everything I could have hoped for in a care home.

We moved here from another home, 4 months ago. The positive effect on my husband (dementia sufferer), of being at Kings Lodge, is amazing.
The welcome is warm and friendly, and everything is centred around the residents. The staff are happy and enjoy looking after the residents, and nothing is too
much trouble.
The food is good and varied. The surroundings are clean, and the rooms are well-appointed.
I feel that my husband is now receiving the care he deserves and needs, and he is so much happier here. All thanks to a great manager who has built a brilliant team around her. I can't thank them all enough for the difference they have made to our lives.

All staff at Kings Lodge are unfailingly polite and caring. My mother-in-law always looks tidy and has blossomed since moving here in March 2018. She is happy and settled and the staff all appear to know her well. The introduction of an Italian/English picture guide by the care home is a fabulous idea
as my mother-in-law is now more responsive if spoken to in her native language. We are always made welcome when we visit.

Staff are friendly, caring and approachable. Residents are treated as individuals and with respect. Concerns are taken note of and actioned appropriately. As Reception is not staffed all the time, there could be some issues with certain residents' safety and can cause difficulty for occasional/new visitors
at weekends. However, the positive aspects far outweigh any problems. Overall there is a very good ambience.

Kings Lodge Care Centre is a brilliant care home. My mother has been there since January, she has dementia and sometimes displays challenging behaviour. All of the staff/carers show such calmness, patience an are always smiling, happy and courteous. They treat mum with great respect and dignity too.
