Review of Surrey Hills from Sharon M (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum has dementia and moved to Surrey Hills following an extended stay in hospital with a broken arm. She had fallen in the hospital and suffered a brain haemorrhage, which affected her behaviour adversely. She was also suffering from delirium. Surrey Hills took all of this in their stride and welcomed her and helped her adapt. There has been a marked improvement in the time she has been there due to their care. The home is well-run, always clean, well-staffed and well-maintained, with a lovely outside space, but by far its greatest asset is its staff, all of whom are, without exception, cheerful, kind and patient, all doing their best, working as a team, to add value to the lives of the residents, despite dealing with, at times, some quite challenging behaviours! They are genuinely caring and affectionate to the residents, very welcoming, and support not only the residents but one another and residents' families too!

Reply from Kensey O'Hara, Service Manager at Surrey Hills

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are so pleased to hear that your mum has settled well and that you've seen such a positive improvement since she joined Surrey Hills. Your kind words about our team mean a great deal.

Review of Whitegates Nursing Home from T M (Resident / Service User) published on 17 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My time here has been an eye opener. The staff and carers in general are very good, they help you when help is needed. As regards to management, Jash the manager has helped me in my new housing situation ie bank statements, birth certificate, citizenship card which has helped you obtained a relevant benefits that I am entitled to the activities throughout the day, good and the general wellbeing of the residents is off a high standard, apart from what I have said, I would recommend it to others being relatives husbands or wives and I have not had any problems been in Whitegates since I arrived. Thank you.

Review of Kingston Rehabilitation Centre from Sue J (Sister of Resident) published on 15 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My sister is a returning customer. She spent five weeks at Kingston for rehabilitation following a fall and enjoyed the experience so much she has had two further short stays while her carer is away and to top up her rehabilitation. This works very well for her and she thoroughly enjoys her time at Kingston. She has made friends and tries a wide range of activities aside from the therapies that are on offer. The staff are kind and caring and my sister looks forward to seeing them on her return visits. We hope that Kingston can continue to be part of her support and care plan going forward. The family couldn't be happier with the arrangements.

Review of Surrey Heights from J B (Wife of Resident) published on 13 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
So pleased to have found Surrey Heights and have now used it several times for respite care for my husband. There is no minimum stay requirement which has been fantastic and enabled me to visit family for long weekends.

It's a lovely home with very kind, caring staff. We are both made to feel very welcome and I have already booked more stays. It is really good to know that my husband is in such a kind, caring environment whilst I get a much needed break from full time caring.

Reply from Jean-Pascal Toussaint, Home Manager at Surrey Heights

Review of Bagshot Park Care Centre from M A (Wife of Resident) published on 3 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My husband had been very unwell for a while & was then hospitalised for 2 weeks. He was taken directly to Bagshot Park Rehabilitation & Care Home. He was very wary & weak & could not walk. At Bagshot he had his own room, with ensuite wet room & the care of extremely attentive carers, for his every need. Excellent food 3 times a day, where I could join him if I wished. He had physio to suit his ability, 5 times a week, to get him stronger & get his confidence back. He is now home after 3 weeks & we are continuing the physio as an outpatient. The staff were truly amazing, just like one big family.

Review of Whitegates Nursing Home from C F (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum (aged 92) has now been at Whitegates for eight months, and during that time I've not had cause to doubt our decision for her to move there, for residential care. I was initially concerned that she would hibernate in her room watching television. This certainly isn't the case. She is always in one of the numerous lounge areas chatting with other residents or staff. I have been particularly impressed with the ratio of staff to residents. There always seem to be two or three assistants or nurses nearby, Mum. Moving Mum from her own home of many years was a difficult decision for the family, but no regrets. Communication with management is excellent.

Amazing support provided to Mum, during her 10 weeks stay at Abbey Chase in a temporary step-down bed following hospital discharge.

Every staff member we met was extremely professional and efficient, they were always cheerful and encouraging with Mum. This kind and carefully measured level of support made her transition from living at home on her own, to moving into the Care Home environment so much easier.

Review of Kings Lodge Care Centre from Trisha R (Sister-in-law of Resident) published on 5 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Although only for a short respite stay for my sister in law I can wholeheartedly recommend King's Lodge. The diligent care of every staff member to my sister in law and also the warm welcome and help to myself as next of kin has been exemplary, faultless. One of King's Lodge values is to really understand the individual needs of their service users and demonstrably show this through the care they provide. They do this in every interaction. I have had a lot of experience with many care homes. The ones where the staff recognise that they are working in the home of the service users and treat people as they would there own relative are the best and King's Lodge certainly do all they can to deliver in this manner. King's Lodge is a small care home. Not many of the big bells and whistles of larger homes but those are not necessary. The small intimate home and a good staff to resident ratio allows for personal time to be given and thats the most important care of all. I highly recommend.
