My Step Dad has been staying at Whitegates after having had repeated falls at home.
He seems very happy at the home. The building is very secure, so we have no concerns regarding Step Dad wandering off. Lovely and warm building, the menu looks delicious and my Step Dad says he really enjoys the food.
Lovely room, over looking the garden. Staff are very friendly, helpful. Good level of staffing. It is good to know that he is being well looked after, thank you.
Reply from Josh Barlow, Home Manager at Whitegates Nursing HomeThank you so much for your lovely review. This feedback is very much appreciated and we will be sure to share this with all of the team. The Summers

from Emma R (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I can't speak highly enough of The Summer's Nursing Home, where my mum lives. The staff and management have been incredibly hospitable and supportive, allowing me to host a monthly cheese and wine evening for residents and their families.
Our first evening took place this week, and it was absolutely
wonderful. The manager and staff went above and beyond-nothing was too much trouble. I provided a list, and they kindly sourced all the food, set up beautiful cheese boards and wine, and made sure everything ran smoothly.
We had music, singing, and dancing, and the atmosphere was truly joyful. Residents, families, my husband, and everyone involved had such a lovely time. The home created a caring, relaxed, and welcoming environment that made the evening very special.
These evenings will now be held on the last Thursday of every month, which says so much about how accommodating and caring the home is. A truly wonderful place with exceptional staff.
Reply from Charlotte Playford, Home Manager at The SummersThank you so much for your kind words. We are happy that the first cheese and wine evening was such a success! It was a real pleasure to work with you to create a special and enjoyable experience for residents, families, and everyone involved.

I can speak very highly of the service and quality of care offered at Kingston Rehabilitation Centre. My mother suffered a serious stroke and has been restricted to a wheelchair, but the physiotherapy team saw that as no barrier and has assisted her with standing exercises, which exceeded what we thought
possible.
Our thanks to the whole rehab team at Kingston. I can also recommend the high quality speech and language therapy offered by the centre.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife is content, safe & well cared for at Surrey Heights where she has lived for almost 9 months. All staff are excellent at focusing on those cared for, they are cheerful, accomplished, professional & above all show real concern for the wellbeing of all. I visit at many & various times
seeing day to day activities exactly as they are - I'm unfailingly welcomed plus my comfort & needs are clearly important to the staff & also supported by them.
Day to day activities are many & various, organised with enthusiasm & flare by a dedicated Wellbeing Organiser. Entertainers are brought in, specific interesting & fun activities set up, residents birthdays celebrated etc. A current example being a splendid special candlelit Valentine's Day lunch set up for all those who are couples.
Moving my wife into residential care wasn't an easy decision but has proved to have been exactly the right & best thing to do.

As a family we have been told nightmare stories about care homes and were so worried about leaving our mum in one. However, Abbey Chase have been amazing! All of the management, staff, carers and even kitchen staff were so kind, caring, smiley and happy. We can't thank each and every one of them enough

We couldn't have wished for any more!
From being exceedingly nervous regarding nursing/care homes and quality rumours of, we most definitely landed on our feet with our mother having been assigned from St Peter's to Kingslodge.
Oggie and his team were first class in their attention to care and detail
for our mother, something that simply put us at ease from onset, providing us nothing but confidence in staff' attentiveness, response & overall professionalism and level of excellent care provided.
We cannot recommend Kingslodge, Oggie & his team more highly.

My wife has been in Whitegates since 14/11/25 while I had a heart operation and recovered from same. She suffers from Vascular Dementia and I have not been able to care for her while I recover. I have only ever heard good things about Whitegates and my expectations have been fully met. The management
and staff are excellent and this was demonstrated by the Christmas Lunch to which family were invited and which completely exceeded my expectations. The staff were superb. The lunch was typical of the care that residents receive. Fully recommended Whitegates as a home for relatives.

I was totally amazed with the Home with how they helped my aunt celebrate her 100th birthday. It was such a lovely day for her, which she enjoyed. the huge birthday cake was incredible.
