Brownscombe Care Residences

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I cannot begin to express how excellent Brownscombe was in all areas. They helped expidite my father's move from hospital for end of life care, and this gave him the dignity and respect that he deserved for his final few days, in a place of clean, quiet and attentative sanctuary. The change in his levels
of stress the moment that he arrived was palpable, and the kindness and understanding that he was shown made such a difference to him. Everyone at Brownscombe from management, care staff, nurses, cleaners and chefs were exceptional.
Reply from Kevin Lorimer, Head of Hotel Services at Brownscombe Care ResidencesThank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Brownscombe that you took the time to share your experience. We are deeply honoured to have been able to support your father, and your family, during such an important and sensitive time. Providing comfort, dignity, and compassionate care at the end of life is something we hold at the very heart of what we do, and it is reassuring to know that this was felt so clearly by you and your father.

The care that King's Lodge Centre Centre provided to our Auntie Ann was exceptonal during her time with you. Thank you all so much for you efforts to keep her as comfortable as possible during the time she was with you, in what were very difficult circumstances. Your personal interest in her care

My aunt spent the last few months of her life in The Summers. She was treated exceptionally well in every respect. They really cared for her to the smallest detail, and were extremely patient with her. They were also very kind to the family when we visited.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Easter Monday was the Easter Party at Surrey Heights and what a lovely party it was. My partner is a resident at Surrey Heights and though she was a bit sleepy this morning news of the party woke her up.
A beautifully laid out table greeted the residents. Food served by care home management and staff
was eaten with obvious delight by the residents who were all made to feel special by all the staff including the events co- ordinator who goes above and beyond to make sure the residents are happy
With children invited the atmosphere was lovely and my partner thought they were cute (she's always liked children)
There was then entertainment provided by a lovely couple who sang songs that residents sang along to
One of the staff had a birthday the day before and a surprise cake was made for her to her obvious delight as everyone sang Happy Birthday to her
My partner had a wonderful time and the kindness shown to everyone by management and staff was lovely. To top it off the sun shone too

We have both been very appreciative of the level of care provided to our Auntie Ann. I wanted to take a moment to share how much we appreciated the team at Surrey Heights. A close family member was cared for there on and off over a couple of months while he was in and out of hospital with various health issues.
He was a proud and independent man who really didn't want to be in a care
home, but the team looked after him so incredibly well. It genuinely felt like they were caring for their own family member.
Having had previous experience of care homes, I know how much standards can vary. The investment in Surrey Heights really shows - it's a warm, welcoming environment, and most importantly, he was happy there.
There's a genuine sense of compassion and respect in the way the team care for residents, which makes such a difference to both residents and their families.
He passed away recently, surrounded by family. While there are some concerns around the wider circumstances of his passing, I want to be very clear that none of these relate to the care he received at Su

After several bad experiences with care homes, it's such a relief to find Abbey chase for my grandmother. After an accident in hospital my grandmother unfortunately had to go into permanent residential care which has been quite difficult for us as a family to come to terms with. However Abbey chase
has made the experience and transition as smooth as possible. The entire team treat her like family and we feel confident in her care there which hasn't been the case elsewhere. She is treated with respect, love and dignity which we think is so important. They are open with communication and recommendations and have been a great help throughout our experience. My grandmother has settled in well and seems very happy with her surroundings and new extended family. We would highly recommend Abbey Chase Nursing Home. Thankyou Maria, Gino and the team!

I can't speak highly enough of The Summer's Nursing Home, where my mum lives. The staff and management have been incredibly hospitable and supportive, allowing me to host a monthly cheese and wine evening for residents and their families.
Our first evening took place this week, and it was absolutely
wonderful. The manager and staff went above and beyond-nothing was too much trouble. I provided a list, and they kindly sourced all the food, set up beautiful cheese boards and wine, and made sure everything ran smoothly.
We had music, singing, and dancing, and the atmosphere was truly joyful. Residents, families, my husband, and everyone involved had such a lovely time. The home created a caring, relaxed, and welcoming environment that made the evening very special.
These evenings will now be held on the last Thursday of every month, which says so much about how accommodating and caring the home is. A truly wonderful place with exceptional staff.
Reply from Charlotte Playford, Home Manager at The SummersThank you so much for your kind words. We are happy that the first cheese and wine evening was such a success! I can speak very highly of the service and quality of care offered at Kingston Rehabilitation Centre. My mother suffered a serious stroke and has been restricted to a wheelchair, but the physiotherapy team saw that as no barrier and has assisted her with standing exercises, which exceeded what we thought
possible.

My wife is content, safe & well cared for at Surrey Heights where she has lived for almost 9 months. All staff are excellent at focusing on those cared for, they are cheerful, accomplished, professional & above all show real concern for the wellbeing of all. I visit at many & various times
seeing day to day activities exactly as they are - I'm unfailingly welcomed plus my comfort & needs are clearly important to the staff & also supported by them.
Day to day activities are many & various, organised with enthusiasm & flare by a dedicated Wellbeing Organiser. Entertainers are brought in, specific interesting & fun activities set up, residents birthdays celebrated etc. A current example being a splendid special candlelit Valentine's Day lunch set up for all those who are couples.
Moving my wife into residential care wasn't an easy decision but has proved to have been exactly the right & best thing to do.

All of the management, staff, carers and even kitchen staff were so kind, caring, smiley and happy. We can't thank each and every one of them enough
