I can speak very highly of the service and quality of care offered at Kingston Rehabilitation Centre. My mother suffered a serious stroke and has been restricted to a wheelchair, but the physiotherapy team saw that as no barrier and has assisted her with standing exercises, which exceeded what we thought
possible.
Our thanks to the whole rehab team at Kingston. I can also recommend the high quality speech and language therapy offered by the centre.
Reply from Alice Bruce, Regional Manager for Rehab Services at Kingston Rehabilitation CentreThank you for your kind words, we will pass on your comments to the team, your feedback is very much valued. We will you and your mum all the best for the future.

Even though my wife was only in the rehabilitation centre for a week, the staff at all times were very friendly and extremely caring.
At all levels from the managers to the nursing staff, every one was extremely helpful, and went out of their way to assist in any way they could. The main reason my
wife was a resident was to receive physiotherapy, and the service she received in that respect was fantastic.
Reply from Alice Bruce, Regional Manager for Rehab Services at Kingston Rehabilitation CentreThank you Andrew for your kind review, it was a pleasure having your wife with us. Thank you for choosing Kingston Rehab Centre. We wish you both all the best.

A delightful place staff were amazing so friendly and welcoming. Great interaction with the residents. My great aunt was very happy and well looked after the premises were decorated delightfully for Christmas and the hairdresser was in the way to doll up everyone for santas arrival tomorrow . I can
honestly say I met some angles today.
Reply from Heidi Bradbury, Home Manager at Surbiton Care HomeThank you for the lovely review. We love celebrating holidays and by decorating the home we can make it feel like a home from home experience for everyone. Being in a care home should not mean that people miss out on these occasions. We are an extended family and therefore behave as such celebrating events together and by the person centred care we give to our residents every day.

My family & I wanted to fulfil my dream of going to watch the British super bikes. After I had my stroke I'd completely written off ever going again. My brother in law said 'let's make it happen'! He got the BSB calendar up to find a meeting at Brands Hatch, the end of the month. We were already at
the start. We looked at WAV hire, but it was too expensive! He looked at a price for a taxi. All hope was fading away. I suggested we went by train. My brother in law said it could be an option, but the track is in the middle of nowhere, the stations are miles away. We had exhausted all options, when I remembered that the home had a WAV. I told my brother in law that before we gave up all hope, I would email (due to the stroke, I physically can't speak) and ask if we could borrow it. We didn't have anything to lose. The worst they could do was say 'no'. To my surprise, it was ok. I got it insured and we were off. I was so grateful. Thanks to this home, dreams really do come true.
Reply from Alice Bruce, Regional Manager for Rehab Services at Kingston Rehabilitation CentreThanks for your review. It is fabulous to hear and we are so happy that we could support you with this. Look forward to hearing about the next trip!

I came for respite care following a hip operation. Had no experience of a care home before and have been pleasantly surprised. The staff couldn't have been nicer or care more. Nothing is too much trouble and the medical needs are met.

My mother required somewhere to stay whilst building work took place after leaving hospital from a hip replacement. The staff and management have been fantastic dealing with all the issues involved. They have looked after her medical issues better than the hospital did and have got mum walking with
much more confidence. I would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone.
Reply from Heidi Bradbury, Home Manager at Surbiton Care HomeHi, thank you for your lovely words. We at Surbiton believe that independence is very important to the people we care for . My brother has been at Kingston Rehab for months now. When discharged from hospital, he was in a sorry state both physically and mentally. Within a few weeks at Kingston Rehab he made significant progress in both aspects. It is a great relief to us, his family, knowing that he is safe, secure and is
being well looked after by excellent staff and management. Only issue I can think of is that it can be difficult to get through on the phone to Kingston Rehab in order to get updates on his condition, as my brother is unable to speak.
Reply from Lesley Wickens, Manager at Kingston Rehabilitation CentreThank you for your kind words. I will share with the team.I have noted your comment that it can be difficult getting through to the Home for updates. We are looking into how we can improve this.

The staff are very friednly and helpful. It would be useful if there was a list of all the staff so that we can learn their names. I have suggested this to the manager who is currently working on it. It would also be useful to understand the hierarchy and the correct communication channels, as we always
need to go through the manager, who is wonderful. We have had to return a couple of items of clothing that were assigned to Mum. I understand from Mum that some of the residents are a bit rude to staff so I apologise on their behalf. Thank you to all of the staff.

Time to leave an honest review now that my mother has been moved to another care home, where she will receive the care that Surbiton care home pledged to do. My complaints are in the space of two years, my Mother has been given the wrong medication. I have visited to take her out to find her in dirty
clothes. One summer visit mum was wheeled out in a Christmas jumper! We have had endless clothes, blankets go missing, medication found on the bedroom floor. She had been taken to hospital and left on her own, no notification to the family for several hours. Hospitalised due to an accident caused by a member of staff, twice! by same staff member that was subsequently sacked, as we were told by the manager. In all honesty there was not one single area that any of the staff excelled in. My mothers wedding ring that my late father bought over 70 years ago, has been stolen, obviously by a member of staff, it is no longer on my Mothers finger, and is nowhere to be found in the home, stolen!

Thank God my relationship with the rehab centre has miraculously changed for the better and I am most grateful that I am at last being treated with dignity and respect - I feel that I am being listened to and this has reduced my stress and anxiety. Please keep me informed about my wife's health and
welfare and kindly contact me immediately if any changes occur. The challenge is family relationships and meeting the faith aspirations of the husband with his wife's family. Thank you very much indeed for listening and supporting me.
