My husband passed away on Jan 3rd 2019. He received the best care during his last month and remained calm, reassured and pain-free. He was frequently visited in his room by many staff members who spoke to him and let him know he was not alone. I was in the hospital during this time and unable to do my daily visits. I had complete confidence in the staff at Leighton House Private Nursing Home to care for him in the best way.

My mother received excellent care and attention at Leighton House. In particular, the staff take a lot of time to provide activities and to attend to personal issues such as doing nails etc.

My father passed away at Leighton House Nursing Home on 30.09.18. He lived here for one year, during this time he was treated with great care, kindness, respect, dignity and compassion. He became friendly with the lovely staff. It was a pleasure to visit him here and it was a relief to me to know that he was well looked after in capable hands.

Although my husband was not at Leighton House for long due to his poor health - he expressed how happy he was there.
Kind, caring staff.

Unfortunately, he was bedridden and unable to enjoy all the facilities, but we were both very glad that we had chosen Leighton House.

Excellent effort and care are taken to keep our mother comfortable and clean.
She has been a resident for over 2 years.
She is fed nutritional and appropriate meals regularly.
In particular, two of the long-term care staff have been key in welcoming family, keeping us updated.
They are cheerful and reliable in our mother's care.

It is really important to have continuity of care.

Always welcoming, friendly, helpful staff including ancillary staff. A very clean, pleasant environment, always ready to include family with the care, and care plans of my husband.
The care staff have always been very caring and showing consideration and love to my husband and indeed myself.
Nice garden and outdoor space, well looked after. The meals were well prepared to suit my husband's needs i.e., in the later stages of his life eg., pureed.

Overall very happy with the care delivered.

The team have a high level of care for my father given his level of dementia and complex needs.
I feel reassured that his welfare is at the foremost of the service provided.
He has recently started to fall over and I have been contacted immediately and informed, in particular when it was decided he needed to go to the local A&E.

One incident when he fell when I was present I witnessed first hand how they dealt with the situation and ensured he had the right level of support after becoming disorientated.

I am only able to see my dad for two weeks of the year as I live in the U.S. However when I come, my dad is always happy and obviously well looked after. There are always plenty of carers around who are happy to help you (the visitor) and care for you and your relative. The facility is clean and has plenty of things to do for the residents. The environment is peaceful and all the residents are happy here. The staff cater to the physical, mental and the resident's interests with care and attention.

My father was a resident at Leighton House from November 2015-April 2016.
He had Alzheimer's and was far from an easy resident at times. But, they handled him with respect and dignity. Always being sensitive to his and other residents needs. On his last day, staffing members to whom my father closely related with, stayed around to bring him comfort, which, for me and my sister was a real dedication of care.
The meals were always of good quality, hygiene and safety standards upheld.
The home has a beautiful light conservatory/sitting area over looking the garden.
It always looked clean and residents are well cared for and attended to. They had people coming in to provide activities on different days and there were plenty resources to keep residents entertained.

The staff were always polite, approachable, welcoming and supportive.

My first impression was that the manager was kind, gentle, positive and organised. It was apparent that Leighton House was clean, no smells whatsoever and the residents were receiving excellent care and attention.

My husband was an extremely difficult resident but he was always treated with great care and great respect. The staff were brilliant at overcoming his difficulties or the difficulties he created.

He had an excellent appetite all his life. Leighton House accepted this and he had double the amount of other residents at meal times. When he asked he would be given snacks between meals and at night.

Without question, I was delighted with his care at all times.

Whilst my mother's stay at the facility was short, we were thoroughly impressed with all aspects of care undertaken by everyone, from the management to the individual staff in general. Mum was treated with dignity, kindness and consideration, and a carer was always on hand to hold her hand or share a smile. It's difficult to find any fault with the care my mother received, plus the staff went the extra mile to make you feel welcome, even to visitors. I would wholeheartedly go on record to support this organisation. They helped us through such difficult times and made my mother's stay as gracious and as comfortable as possible. The care that was provided for my mum in her final hours with us was nothing short of exemplary. Thank you for being amazing at what you do!

My husband has been a resident at Leighton House since March 2016, It did take him a short while to settle but now he is quite happy. I find the staff extremely patient with him when he's giving them a difficult time. I find the manager and all the staff are very pleasant when I visit my husband. They make me very welcome and are always ready to talk to you no matter what the situation. The manager and staff are a good team and for that, I recommend Leighton House as highly possible as a care home.
