My mum moved in about a year ago and they made her feel at home and well cared for right from the beginning. The staff are caring and well led. When I visit mum they always treat me with respect and look after me just as well as all the residents. I would highly recommend Moorhouse to family and friends as a brilliant place to send their loved ones.

My mother became very ill on 29th June. We were advised to go into Moorhouse immediately. Everybody in the home was very supportive. We were provided with food and drink and me and my son were offered rooms to stay in. We were given breakfast everyday. My mother sadly passed away on 4th July. Thank you everyone for the support and sympathy given to the whole family

Arriving at Moorhouse after a longish spell in hospital, my wife was a bit disoriented and a bit weeply, of course she was! 'Only to be expected,' they said calmly. Let us have her for a while, you'll see...' and an hour later, and a visit to the hairdresser, there emerged a butterfly with a new haircut and a wide smile! By teatime, she was sitting at the table in a proper chair with two other elderly ladies exchanging tales about their grandchildren! And I was moved by how kind Moorhouse's people have been to both of us - wholly understanding the moment! She has been in Moorhouse for about a month. She has a very pleasant room, her own pictures on the wall, her own eiderdown on the bed, her familiar things around her. By day, she joins the residents in the common room and is now thoroughly at home there. These common rooms overlook a delightful garden (I found her planting seeds at Gardening Club), and residents will be outside in good weather. And always when she needs help with the small things of life or simply kindly reassurance, a carer is ever there for her.

What a wonderful welcome at Moorhouse!
Julie and her team are quite the friendliest people we have met. Nothing is to much trouble as they care for mum. She even had a hairdresser appointment on her first afternoon!
The home is just that....a home. It feels relaxed and happy and safe. Just like home does.
The property is beautifully looked after and the garden is gorgeous. The other residents are welcoming and cheery, making mum feel very well received.
Mums care is considered at every level and Julie in particular really knows mums details and needs.
As visitors we are really embraced by the same kindness. The staff know our names and a cup of tea is never far away!

There is a real feeling of kindness and compassion, which is the thing we were most hoping for. Thankyou moorhouse.

Just a quick huge thank-you to Julie the Manager and all her staff at Moorhouse particularly Red and Penny the care managers for looking after my mother so well. Their attention to detail is superb and no request too small. My mother has been there for three years now under various regimes and since those three have been in charge I have certainly noticed an improvement in the high standard of care that she receives. Mention must also be made to other long serving staff in Anjana, the Sikh gentlemen and Loren who are very kind and devoted to their jobs.. I have also noticed how well the staff are involved in all the activities (Katherine and Nikhitha)

Thank-you again.

My wife has been a resident for 18 months and has received excellent, caring support from all of the friendly staff. The house and rooms are clean and well furnished and kept to a very high standard. The management team are very helpful and are always seeking ways to improve the well-being of the residents with plenty of interesting activities and resident involvement. There is always a welcoming selection of nutritious food and drive to satisfy all tastes and overall residents are very well looked after in a friendly, professional, supportive environment.

My mum has been a resident for just over a year now. She is so very happy here, Moorhouse has the best staff and I would like to thank them all for yesterday. My mum turned 90 yesterday, and what a wonderful day she had. A private room was decorated for us and a wonderful spread and cake were provided. My mum had the best day celebrating, thank you all so much. The level of care is second to none at Moorhouse, and I couldn't recommend it enough.

I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and professionalism of the staff at Moorhouse Care Home. They take amazing care of Dad, and it feels like one, big, happy family. Communication is excellent, and they are always there with advice and reassurance. The ladies at Moorehouse have set my mind at ease with their warmth and a listening ear, and I have no qualms about having their dedicated team caring for Dad. This is a care home where they really do care. A home away from home. Wonderful! Thank you.

My Mum was transferred to Moorhouse on the 13 June. The transition for Mum was a smooth process. Mum has settled in well over the past few days. The staff at Moorhouse are wonderful, compassionate, empathetic and welcoming. The environment is safe and staff extremely supportive in what can be a challenging working environment.
Moorhouse feels very family orientated with the welfare of its residents at the centre of the care home.
My father and I were made to feel so welcome on our initial visit.

Thank you so much.

Auntie moved in on 3rd April this year so not been long but. She has settled in quickly, looks happy & younger, her eyes are brighter, she chats laughs, she's suffered with anxiety since young but this seems to have lifted from her Shoulders. The staff are fabulous, friendly, kind, take time to get to know people, not just the resident. Its like a family, really lovely & welcoming.

Moorhouse nursing home where both my parents are currently residing are doing an excellent job for which we are extremely grateful. They have excellent management and all the staff are committed to giving those at the care home the very best care that they can give. From the first contact with them they were super-efficient, and everything was done quickly and with no fuss. The care given is outstanding. One reason being that their model is to always have sufficient staff to deal at peak times during the day and staff are always all motivated and professional. The leadership is outstanding and sets the tone for staff. Form excellent. We are glad that this is where our parents are.

Mum has been at Moorhouse for Just over 4 years and things have been a bit up and down with Care. But since a new experienced manager was appointed in September 2024 there have been many improvements to the care and quality of life for the residents. Staffing levels have been good, with many long term staff who provide excellent and compassionate care to the residents. Always found staff v welcoming, although they're always busy with residents care. The overall impression is a well maintained and vital care home. Residents appear happy and content, no one is agitated or insecure, this would indicate residents needs (physical & emotional) are being met consistently. Staff are professional and friendly. The home is a perfect size - not too many residents, nice balance in numbers. No neglect - everyone is caring, compassionate to the residents needs. Spotlessly clean environment - reassuring loved ones are in good hands. Would highly recommend the are home - note for improvement a small day room near reception for more private visits.
