Would like to see more options for outside use. Small patio outside the day room would be a welcome addition. It wouldn't take much for it to be made safe and a bit bigger so that residents could enjoy fresh air and sunshine on good weather days.

Engelberg Care Home

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mum has been a resident for around 5 weeks now. She has no previous experience of care services or residential care and was living independently until her admission to hospital.
She has settled in very quickly considering and all staff have been understanding and supportive. Mom has enjoyed the activities
so far and particularly looks forward to meal times! She says they are really delicious.
Mom had to cope with the lockdown and then her own isolation and this did u settle her. She is now starting to settle down to the routine again.
Thank you to all at Engelberg so far.
Reply from Sally Lloyd, Home Manager at Engelberg Care HomeMany thanks for your kind words and review. Its been a pleasure helping your Mum settle in and getting to know her better and we all hope she is enjoying her stay at Engelberg

My aunt has been at Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home near on 1 year. During her time, she has been given the utmost care. Her wound has healed, but unfortunately, she is now unable to walk (possibly due to old age or lack of movement). The staff are extremely courteous and very caring.
Food wise, I feel
the standard should be better - some days it's very good, some days not.
It would be good on times if the staff would check to see if the patient are eating their food! All in all, it's an excellent place.
Reply from Jessica Bridgewater, Manager at Allt Y Mynydd Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to complete a review and provide such open feedback. Feedback like this helps me to understand where improvements are needed and I will certainly share this feedback with the catering team and drive some improvements in the food offered. Just a quick huge thank-you to Julie the Manager and all her staff at Moorhouse particularly Red and Penny the care managers for looking after my mother so well. Their attention to detail is superb and no request too small. My mother has been there for three years now under various regimes and since
those three have been in charge I have certainly noticed an improvement in the high standard of care that she receives. Mention must also be made to other long serving staff in Anjana, the Sikh gentlemen and Loren who are very kind and devoted to their jobs.. I have also noticed how well the staff are involved in all the activities (Katherine and Nikhitha)
Thank-you again.

My wife has been a resident for 18 months and has received excellent, caring support from all of the friendly staff. The house and rooms are clean and well furnished and kept to a very high standard. The management team are very helpful and are always seeking ways to improve the well-being of the residents
with plenty of interesting activities and resident involvement. There is always a welcoming selection of nutritious food and drive to satisfy all tastes and overall residents are very well looked after in a friendly, professional, supportive environment.

I can't thank Broomy Hill enough for everything they have done and are still doing for our mum. We had to remove her from a home that really didn't suit her needs and they have made her settling in a breeze. This is the first time we have seen her happy and getting involved. The manager & assistant
manager have been truly amazing with us and her and it is so lovely to see them so hands on with the residents. We really don't need to worry about Mum as she is getting such good care from the whole team there.

Due to extenuating circumstances, my mum required emergency residential care. My husband's late mother had been wonderfully looked after by the lovely staff at Holmer Court and it was to them that we turned to in our hour of need. Fortunately they were able to help us and in less than 24 hours mum has
been safely placed into their care. During this short space of time, I have been so impressed with their professionalism, warmth, kindness and a commitment to high standards of care that I am completely reassured that mum is in the best of hands.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My own mother was under the care of Holmer Court from Feb 2022 to Jan 2024 and you could not ask for a more conscientious, kind hearted and loving group of people to look after your loved one. So when it became necessary for my mother in law to have emergency care at very short notice I knew who to
call. Fortunately they were able to accommodate the urgent request and within 24 hours my mother in law was safely ensconced into their care. From the evaluation of her needs to accommodating her, the staff at Holmer Court have again gone beyond the call of duty. She has been so warmly welcomed and put at ease that the whole transition has been so reassuring for the family that she is in a place of safety and kindness with staff who are committed to the very best care you will find anywhere.
Special thanks to the Receptionist and Deputy Manager for their kindness and guidance through this time sensitive process.
