We can't thank the staff enough at broomy hill nursing home for everything they have done for our auntie/sister over the past 4+ years. From the excellent care she received, to the staff who were consistently kind, attentive and would go above and beyond for her. It really was a "home from home."You
always made us feel so welcomed and gave us peace of mind that she was with you at broomy hill. We are extremely grateful for you all. Again thank you from the bottom of our hearts, sister, niece and their families x

Mum has recently moved to Holmer Court. The reason we chose Holmer Court is its lovely homely feel. Mum has settled and adjusted well, I think this is mainly due to the excellent staff and the attention she receives. They go above and beyond, and you can see that they genuinely care, not only for
the residents but for family members too which is lovely. I look forward to visiting Mum and it's nice to see her in such a happy, friendly environment where she has made new friends and can join in with new activities. In Mum's own words - "the ladies are nice to talk too and the staff are so kind"

Engelberg Care Home

from Wendy K (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mom decided to move into Engelberg when daily living became a little more challenging in her own home. This was a massive transition for her but she was welcomed immediately by all staff, well looked after and safe and as a family we were also very well supported. Sadly, this was all too short a stay
but during her time there Mom enjoyed the wide range of activities offered to residents and staff were very supportive of her individual needs and included her in all activities as far as possible. She also looked forward to the twice weekly Church services which were conducted in a lovely, friendly manner and I enjoyed joining in with the services when I could. Staff were considerate and respectful at all times and tried their very best to make everything comfortable and easy for Mom. A new bed was organised - without request - when staff decided that this would assist with Mom's independence and mobility in getting in and out of bed.

Thoroughly recommend Engelberg for your relatives.

I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and professionalism of the staff at Moorhouse Care Home. They take amazing care of Dad, and it feels like one, big, happy family. Communication is excellent, and they are always there with advice and reassurance. The ladies at Moorehouse have set my mind at ease

My Mum was transferred to Moorhouse on the 13 June. The transition for Mum was a smooth process. Mum has settled in well over the past few days. The staff at Moorhouse are wonderful, compassionate, empathetic and welcoming. The environment is safe and staff extremely supportive in what can be a challenging

My father and I were made to feel so welcome on our initial visit.
Thank you so much.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from staff members..really rude...and the way they run the place.. first off all to be left in urine all day and they can't remember if they changed the service user or not is not acceptable. The fact that this care home has good reviews is a load of rubbish this service
user has been here less that 3 weeks and had so many issues please do not send your family members here nobody deserves to be treated like this no one goes and speaks or interacts with them they just left in the room it's so sad something needs to be done it's not acceptable safe garding is a issue and believe me we won't let it slide its out loved one that need the care so why isn't it provided at a good level. Totally disappointed

Reply from Jessica Bridgewater, Manager at Allt Y Mynydd Nursing Home

As a care home we welcome all feedback, both positive and negative, with the aim of continually improving our service to our residents. Having read your comments (and having had a follow up telephone conversation with yourself) it is obvious that you have genuine concerns of the level of care you feel has been afforded to your loved one.We always aim to provide excellent care for our residents and it is extremely disappointing to hear that you do not believe this to be the case. Many of our reviews are positive about our approach to care, however, I recognise that we must not be complacent. With that in mind, I fully appreciate you are concerned and will personally look into each individual issue you have raised as a priority. I can guarantee that a full and thorough investigation will be held and I will personally feedback the findings and subsequent outcome as is necessary.

She is enjoying the activities and the company of staff and residents alike, with the option to remain in her comfortable room

Mum has been a resident for about six months. During that time, she's been well cared for. When she was struggling to get in and out of bed, a new one that can be raised or lowered was provided without request. A wheelchair is provided for use within the home and for me to take her out. Care staff look

My mom has been at Engelberg since just before Christmas 24. The staff are so helpful and caring. My mom came in a shadow of her previous self, but after 4 months, she is back to her normal self and thoroughly enjoying life. The communication from her Key Worker is first class.
