Our lovely Mum had to leave her previous care home as they couldn't meet her dementia needs..
We moved her to Broomy Hill in August.
This was, beyond a doubt, the best decision we've ever made!
Broomy Hill is run to an extremely high, professional standard by the wonderful manager, Julie.
She clearly
knows how to run a care home as all the staff you come into contact with seem so happy to be working there.. and I mean all of the staff!
Everyone chats to Mum, no matter what their role is!
She's clean and happy, and is always smiling when we go to visit.. we have seen a massive change in Mum's personality since we moved her here.. she's back to being like our Mum again!! Laughing, chatting and smiling ..
We have nothing but praise for Julie and her wonderful team at Broomy Hill, and would definitely recommend this care home to anyone

My mum has been a resident for just over a year now. She is so very happy here, Moorhouse has the best staff and I would like to thank them all for yesterday. My mum turned 90 yesterday, and what a wonderful day she had. A private room was decorated for us and a wonderful spread and cake were provided.
My mum had the best day celebrating, thank you all so much. The level of care is second to none at Moorhouse, and I couldn't recommend it enough.

My mother only had a short stay at Broomy Hill Nursing Home and during that stay she was well looked after and the staff were excellent. Above all, the manager and another member of staff, in particular, were the beating heart of this home. My mother has moved to another care home which is under the
same management of this care home, so I'm confident that she will be looked after well. The other home is also run by Ashberry Care Homes. Well done.

Mum has recently moved to Holmer Court. The reason we chose Holmer Court is its lovely homely feel. Mum has settled and adjusted well, I think this is mainly due to the excellent staff and the attention she receives. They go above and beyond, and you can see that they genuinely care, not only for
the residents but for family members too which is lovely. I look forward to visiting Mum and it's nice to see her in such a happy, friendly environment where she has made new friends and can join in with new activities. Engelberg Care Home

from Wendy K (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 July 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mom decided to move into Engelberg when daily living became a little more challenging in her own home. This was a massive transition for her but she was welcomed immediately by all staff, well looked after and safe and as a family we were also very well supported. Sadly, this was all too short a stay
but during her time there Mom enjoyed the wide range of activities offered to residents and staff were very supportive of her individual needs and included her in all activities as far as possible. She also looked forward to the twice weekly Church services which were conducted in a lovely, friendly manner and I enjoyed joining in with the services when I could. Staff were considerate and respectful at all times and tried their very best to make everything comfortable and easy for Mom. A new bed was organised - without request - when staff decided that this would assist with Mom's independence and mobility in getting in and out of bed.

Thoroughly recommend Engelberg for your relatives.
