Review of Broomy Hill Nursing Home from Joanne B (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father was a resident of Broomy Hill Nursing Home for the last two years of his life.
During this time he received outstanding care and dedication this reflected on his person centered care.
The leadership from the Home and Deputy manager has been excellent throughout , they have always been approachable and supportive to the whole family
My father was happy and contented and we as a family were able to share special memories with him that we will cherish

We thank every member of staff who has contributed to making his stay at Broomy Hill a happy one.

An incredible team of staff who made me feel very welcome from the start. Everyone has gone above and beyond. My Mum was treated with dignity at all times. I couldn't have asked for better care. The Support given to me meant more than I can say, making a difficult time easier. I am truly grateful for the care and kindness both my mum and I were shown. The kindness of every staff member will stay with me always. Thank you all.

I have nothing but praise for the staff and all the wonderful activities that they do with the residents. Facilities are kept to a very high standard.

Since my mum has been in their care she seems to be enjoying herself a lot more. Always has a smile for any staff member who walks by and they never fail to interact with her even when busy.

My mum moved in about a year ago and they made her feel at home and well cared for right from the beginning. The staff are caring and well led. When I visit mum they always treat me with respect and look after me just as well as all the residents. I would highly recommend Moorhouse to family and friends as a brilliant place to send their loved ones.

Kind caring staff who are 'always' there to help.
I just feel giving a lunch of lasagne + garlic bread to a patient who is not eating was not a good idea. Perhaps scrambled egg, icecream or some v soft food would have been a better option.
As for the haircut or shave - I am still in shock!

Perhaps the hairdresser should address her hair cutting procedure.

Im so sorry we have not met your expectations, i did of course investigate your hairdressing complaint at the time and feedback given to our stylist.

My mother became very ill on 29th June. We were advised to go into Moorhouse immediately. Everybody in the home was very supportive. We were provided with food and drink and me and my son were offered rooms to stay in. We were given breakfast everyday. My mother sadly passed away on 4th July. Thank you everyone for the support and sympathy given to the whole family

I currently have a family member who is a resident at Allt y Mynydd Nursing Home. He is happy there and over time has settled in well. The staff are kind and helpful and he feels that they are now a part of his family. All his needs are met, with a healthy balance of independence from having his own room and the opportunity of dining and partaking in various activities with other residents. We as family are treated with respect and kept well informed. Always greeted with a smile!

I have been here a month now and I cannot speak highly enough of the home. The staff are so very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them no matter what time of the day you need their help. In the hot spell that we've just had the staff made sure that the patients were alright plenty to drink and kept us cool as as possible but they must've been melting in the heat themselves. The food is very nice and plenty of it and if you don't like something, you can always ask for something else.I mustn't forget to mention the cleaners and the laundry people who are also very caring. I would just like to finish this review by saying a big thank you to everybody at Allt Y Mynydd For making me feel welcome and looking after me so very well.

I am so grateful to all the staff for taking good care of my mum. I cannot fault anyone. The staff were excellent with their kind, respectful dignity that they gave towards my mum. Review of Moorhouse Care Home from C P (Husband of Resident) published on 1 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

Arriving at Moorhouse after a longish spell in hospital, my wife was a bit disoriented and a bit weeply, of course she was! 'Only to be expected,' they said calmly. Let us have her for a while, you'll see...' and an hour later, and a visit to the hairdresser, there emerged a butterfly with a new haircut and a wide smile! By teatime, she was sitting at the table in a proper chair with two other elderly ladies exchanging tales about their grandchildren! And I was moved by how kind Moorhouse's people have been to both of us - wholly understanding the moment! She has been in Moorhouse for about a month. She has a very pleasant room, her own pictures on the wall, her own eiderdown on the bed, her familiar things around her. By day, she joins the residents in the common room and is now thoroughly at home there. These common rooms overlook a delightful garden (I found her planting seeds at Gardening Club), and residents will be outside in good weather. And always when she needs help with the small things of life or simply kindly reassurance, a carer is ever there for her.

Review of The Weir Nursing Home from Nina P (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother was admitted to the Weir Nursing Home in May 2026; she was there for palliative care as she was suffering from an aggressive cancer of the bowel. From the first day she arrived she was given excellent care and support; she was checked on regularly and the outstanding staff took time to chat and ask her about her family which she was very proud of. The quality of care and support was excellent. She was allocated a beautiful room elegantly decorated with a private en-suit which was really important to her as her condition required easy access. The facilities throughout we spotless and furnished like a home.

She particularly enjoyed going to the communal lounge where often there was live music to which she sang along. Other things that gave her pleasure was having her hair done so she looked smart. It was so important to many of the residents to look well presented and the friendly lovely staff understand this and take the time to ensure residents are happy. Thank you The Weir

My father was only there for 5 weeks. He passed away on the 2nd June, he has numerous illnesses. But I can honestly say the manager was so caring, thoughtful, and very compassionate. Couldnt do enough for us, Dad passed peacefully. His favourite song was being played. The staff were very knowing he had passed and were very compassionate. Manager helpful, made sure we were okay.

Review of Brockworth House Nursing & Dementia Home from Sam J (Son of Resident) published on 5 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother has been a resident at Brockworth since the end of March 2026, she has settled in very well, and this is down to the care staff, all of them are sociable, amicable and engaging with all of the residents.
The home is always clean, tidy, and every member of staff from the manager to the cleaner are friendly, and willing to make time for you.
There are several care staff members who have taken my mother under their wing, and have made her stay at Brockworth much more engaging though all of the various events and activities that are held at the home.
Ever since we visited the home to see if it was suitable for Mother's needs we have nothing but great service.

The food is always wholesome and there is plenty to go around. The home actively encourages visitors to spend quality time with their loved ones, and makes any visit to your loved one, enjoyable.

Reply from Sinead Blick, Home Manager at Brockworth House Nursing & Dementia Home

Many thanks for your kind words, we are delighted your mother has settled in here so well and that you feel she is well cared for.
