My mother was admitted to the Weir Nursing Home in May 2026; she was there for palliative care as she was suffering from an aggressive cancer of the bowel. From the first day she arrived she was given excellent care and support; she was checked on regularly and the outstanding staff took time to chat
and ask her about her family which she was very proud of. The quality of care and support was excellent. She was allocated a beautiful room elegantly decorated with a private en-suit which was really important to her as her condition required easy access. The facilities throughout we spotless and furnished like a home.
She particularly enjoyed going to the communal lounge where often there was live music to which she sang along. Other things that gave her pleasure was having her hair done so she looked smart. It was so important to many of the residents to look well presented and the friendly lovely staff understand this and take the time to ensure residents are happy. Thank you The Weir

My father was only there for 5 weeks. He passed away on the 2nd June, he has numerous illnesses. But I can honestly say the manager was so caring, thoughtful, and very compassionate. Couldnt do enough for us, Dad passed peacefully. His favourite song was being played. The staff were very knowing he
had passed and were very compassionate. Manager helpful, made sure we were okay.

My of aunt 98 years was admitted into Holmer Court on 28th april and was immediately made to comfortable. All the staff were kind and supportive and within two days was settled in and enjoying the attention and surroundings. The management helped deal with all her transfer and medical needs in an efficient
manner which was a great relief and made me feel confident that she was being very well looked after. On visiting i was greeted my the the staff who are very friendly and helpful. My aunt is getting involved with the entertainment and enjoys her games of scrabble and watching tv with subtitles as she is without hearing. The staff are very patient and communicate with a dry wipe board. All in all she feels relaxed and well cared for.

My mum was in Broomy Hill nursing home for nearly 3 years. This was after a difficult time for us, my mum had been admitted to another care home who advertise specialist care for dementia, which was not the case ! Thank goodness for Broomy Hill they gave my mum the care she needed, they supported the
family during challenging times. The care and support was outstanding, the staff are fantastic, they see you as a family suffering whilst the resident is being treated with respect and kindness throughout the period they are at Broomy Hill. I have great admiration for all the staff and I can't thank them for the care they gave mum and the support they gave our family. Truly remarkable people ! Thank You

My mum was looked after at Holmer Court for just over 3 years. I cannot rate it highly enough. I found all the staff to be kind and caring, often going above and beyond. Peace of mind in these circumstances cannot be underestimated. It is such a big decision to make when it comes to entrusting the
care of your most loved ones. I never doubted the care that she was getting and you can't put a price on that.

There is a special place in my heart for Claire, the manager, who was always there when I needed her. She is incredibly professional and negotiated brilliantly on my behalf during difficult circumstances. It is very clear that all members of the team are valued highly by the management and there is a great emphasis on staff well-being and fun. I know how busy Claire is, and yet she would make time for me at the drop of a hat. She will never know how much her kindness meant to me. I will be eternally grateful.

Reply from Claire Boulter, Manager at Holmer Court Care HomeThank you Sue for taking the time to write such a lovely review for us at Holmer Court, it is so gratefully received. I will share this with the team.

Don't take my word, arrange a guided tour and check (especially):
Impressive levels of staffing: ever on the move, attending - usually within seconds - to patients' needs, cheerfully and sympathetically.
Imaginative group activities including live animals
Major investments ensuring comprehensive
security (alarm systems, keypad door locks, tablet communications), risk-free movement of patients, TVs in all communal areas.
Spacious individual bedrooms with full toilet facilities.
Comfortable seating throughout, all in good repair.
Excellent in-house cooked meals together with equally satisfying baked desserts.
There's more but I've run out of space

As a family we cannot thank all the staff at Broomy Hill for looking after our Mum with dignity and compassion for nearly three years.
The last three months have been difficult for us as a family to navigate but with the help of all the staff we have.
Our Mum passed away at Broomy Hill and the staff
were so kind to us, but you would expect nothing else from them!
They are a brilliant group of carers from the home Manager, assistant Manager, carers, cleaners, cooks and the office staff - thank you Broomy Hill for all you did for Mum.

I can't thank Broomy Hill enough for everything they have done and are still doing for our mum. We had to remove her from a home that really didn't suit her needs and they have made her settling in a breeze. This is the first time we have seen her happy and getting involved. The manager & assistant
manager have been truly amazing with us and her and it is so lovely to see them so hands on with the residents. We really don't need to worry about Mum as she is getting such good care from the whole team there.

Due to extenuating circumstances, my mum required emergency residential care. My husband's late mother had been wonderfully looked after by the lovely staff at Holmer Court and it was to them that we turned to in our hour of need. Fortunately they were able to help us and in less than 24 hours mum has
been safely placed into their care. During this short space of time, I have been so impressed with their professionalism, warmth, kindness and a commitment to high standards of care that I am completely reassured that mum is in the best of hands.

My own mother was under the care of Holmer Court from Feb 2022 to Jan 2024 and you could not ask for a more conscientious, kind hearted and loving group of people to look after your loved one. So when it became necessary for my mother in law to have emergency care at very short notice I knew who to
call. Fortunately they were able to accommodate the urgent request and within 24 hours my mother in law was safely ensconced into their care. From the evaluation of her needs to accommodating her, the staff at Holmer Court have again gone beyond the call of duty. She has been so warmly welcomed and put at ease that the whole transition has been so reassuring for the family that she is in a place of safety and kindness with staff who are committed to the very best care you will find anywhere.
Special thanks to the Receptionist and Deputy Manager for their kindness and guidance through this time sensitive process.

Since mum has moved to Broomy Hill you can see the spark back in her eyes. She is well looked after. Plenty of activities of which she thoroughly enjoys the cooking. Staff are polite and friendly. The management is brilliant. Very often on my visits where the management are in you will see them with

I cannot recommend Holmer Court highly enough as I was a resident there for only two months as I was so well looked by all the carers and nurses. I was VERY sad when I was moved to a different nursing home, so much so that I started having '' episodes' a bit like having hallucinations' all the carers
were sad to see me move and two actually cried when told i was moving, so much so that one of the nurses, Sarah and I are friends and she visits me here . Also one of the other residents is happy to be friends and visit me here.
