Mum has settled into Moorhouse very well. The staff are all friendly, helpful and kind. Mum enjoys the home-cooked food and social activities. It is a great weight off our minds knowing that Mum is happy in her new home.

Thank you for spending your time completing the online review. Mum has settled in so well, it's hard to believe she hasn't been with us for much longer, everyone really enjoys her company. It is not just Mum we support but also the families during what can be an emotional journey and I am pleased as a team we have managed this.

My brother has been a resident at Moorhouse for only one month but I am both sure and confident that his needs are being met by the caring staff there. My brother has, for many years, been very disabled following brain and much physical damage from a road traffic accident, so he is completely dependent on insightful care, and food management. This has been delivered by the experienced and patient carers at Moorhouse, witnessed by my wife and myself on several visits per week during this settling in period without prior notice. Visiting is encouraged and always welcomed. I am very pleased with the high standards I have observed at Moorhouse.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, our team here work extremely hard to provide each resident with high quality care, and they will be delighted to hear how thankful you are for all their hard work. It is a pleasure to have your brother here at Moorhouse Nursing Home, he is such a lovely gentleman with a great sense of humour.

I visit regularly every week as a Pets As Therapy volunteer with my three year old Border Colllie. The staff are very caring and proactive in the way they deal with residents. Staff use the residents Christian name when speaking to them. The atmosphere throughout is very calm and friendly. The residents I visit are all most cheerful and the majority react with the dog well and in a meaningful way.

My father has been in Moorhouse since September. We recognise that these have been difficult and challenging times in the sector, despite this we are satisfied that his care has been good. Regular staff are caring and approachable. Unfortunately, some agency staff have been less so, however, when concerns have been raised they have been addressed promptly. The manager was exceptionally helpful in arranging respite care for my mother at short notice. Our thanks for all they do.

We could not have asked for better care and help with my father from all the staff at Moorhouse. I am an activities assistant in another local residential home and was very impressed with everything they did for him. My father was suffering with dementia, Alzheimer’s and cancer so needed a lot of care and attention which he received. The home had a very cosy, caring and friendly atmosphere and the staff were always available to talk, advise and comfort my family. Fabulous place.

Our mum was taken into care at Moorhouse in late November 2021 after being released from hospital but unable to look after herself. Although this was scary for Mum everybody who works there has made her transition to her new way of life so easy. She has a lovely room with a view and looks so much healthier with the care from all the staff. She is now making new friends and eating really well.

This probably couldn't have happened at a worse time with the Covid restriction, which makes the visiting harder at the moment but the whole Moorhouse team have again made this seamless and with excellent updates throughout, thank you Moorhouse.

My husband spent the last few weeks of his life at Moorhouse Nursing Home. His illnesses were complex and difficult to manage. From day 1 I found all staff caring and supportive. He was settled in quickly and importantly I was made welcome and felt he was safe and comfortable. Everyone made every effort to meet his complex needs and although restrictions were in place I was allowed to be with him as much as possible. I felt at ease communicating with all staff at all levels and was very aware of the love and care given to patients. The atmosphere was homely and warm and yet everything was run efficiently. If it should be that I have to spend time in a nursing home, I would choose Moorhouse.

I cannot fault the service at this care home - all the staff are lovely. The communication between the home and myself was on the ball. The meals were purified for my wife and on the occasions that I partook, they were well presented and were of good quality. Parking was quite plentiful (and free). The grounds are lovely and well-maintained thanks to the groundsman. The facility is quite secure and I felt good being able to leave my wife here knowing she was in good hands. I can heartily recommend this home to all.

My father has been a resident at Moorhouse for six years and the care, attention to detail and general well being has been second to none. He is happy and repeatedly tells me so. There is a great deal of staff who have been there for many years and they view the home as part of their family, and the new recruits seem to be fitting in well with the comforting ethos of this special place. Well run, delicious food and high standard of cleanliness no one could ask for more. I cannot imagine how they have kept my father so safe, risking everything to do so in this pandemic, they have been nothing short of amazing. The senior management has always been only a phone call away to discuss any thought I may want to raise. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Moorhouse to anyone who has to make the ghastly decision to put their beloved relatives into a home and would like to make public how much I appreciate all the staff there.

My relative was at this nursing home for a number of years. The long-standing health care assistants at the time were very good and met my relative's needs. The food was generally of a reasonable standard and the chef did speak to our relative on a number of occasions to see the meals were satisfactory for her. A couple of the registered nurses were caring, but numerous agency nurses and carers on duty often on a daily basis and especially at weekends, so therefore not always knowing or understanding the resident's needs and requirements. There is a new home manager in place now (who had successfully worked at this care home for some years previously). My advice is always read all the CQC reports thoroughly.

Was greeted by the manager. She was very friendly offering me refreshments. I was shown to where the lady was who I was visiting. All the staff were so friendly, smiling. I have never been so welcomed into a home. It felt like I was visiting somebodies personal home. The surroundings were very comfortable, the lady playing the piano was enjoyed by us all. I have no complaints. Nothing but praise for the service.

Management and staff make Moorhouse Nursing Home a very friendly welcoming place. Delicious meals are prepared daily by a team of excellent chefs and kitchen staff. A professional efficient laundry service is provided. Afternoon activities bring much pleasure and laughter. The garden is beautifully maintained, it's a real treat to sit outside. Finally to all the nursing caring staff that look after my husband and me. I thank you.

The staff are friendly, welcoming and kind.
It is difficult to nominate an employee of the month as they all give their all. The food is excellent, chef's salmon en-croute with creamy dill sauce is wonderful and would give celebrity chefs a run for their money. This nursing home now feels like home to my husband and it certainly is my second home.

I can't recommend them highly enough. A big thank you.

I have been visiting my aunt at this care home for the last 4 years. Apart from last year when there were management problems, I have been satisfied with the running of the home. I think the staff are very caring and friendly towards residents and family members. I do think, however, that there could be 1 or 2 more members of staff so that residents with dementia could be given more attention.

When fully staffed, the home runs very smoothly and I enjoy my time here. However, when short staffed and agency staff are employed, things don't run as smoothly and are only adequate.
