Mum was 99 years old and moved into Moorhouse for the last 3 months of her life. The staff were always wonderful to her and welcoming to our family. The evening before she died she said how lucky she felt to be where she was. Would thoroughly recommend Moorhouse.

What a lovely change has occurred at Moorhouse following the appointment of a new temporary manager to the home.
There is a happy atmosphere in the building, the staff are smiling and now talking to the residents during the week. This sadly didn't happen under the previous management team. Long it may continue.
The food quality is so much better. We now have our mid-week roast back on the menu, much better than having sausages twice a week for our midday lunch.

All in all, they are looking up.

My mother-in-law has been at Moorhouse for a number of years and during this time she has developed into a happy and sociable person. The care she has received has been outstanding. The staff are always kind and helpful. The home feels very homely and the food looks nutritious and delicious, like a five-star hotel. Would highly recommend Moorhouse, a very happy, friendly place for a loved one.

Moorhouse has provided my mum with an excellent level of care since starting earlier this year. She has settled in well and really likes the staff around her and the food. She has never been an outgoing person but it is a joy to see her joining in an afternoon sing-along and being a positive part of the community. From a time when she was in real difficulty, Moorhouse Care Home saved her old age and made it enjoyable again.

My wife is a patient at Moorhouse Care Home as she has vascular dementia she thinks it's a hospital. She is amazed that when we visit, there is no restriction on numbers for time to stay. She thinks the staff are all friendly and helpful. She enjoyed the entertainment provided. My impression of the home was that it was well-cleaned and maintained. The staff and management were friendly and helpful.

The building is very welcoming and has a 'guest house' feel about it. Staff are all extremely pleasant and friendly. Many of the staff have been there since Mum arrived, which is comforting to know as it makes it more familiar for her with her severe dementia. The grounds are very well maintained and give the residents pleasure on pleasant days. I would have no hesitation in recommending Moorhouse.

My mother has been at Moorhouse for just over a year now and she has always been very happy there. We have seen different managers and staff over the last year and have had a few issues in the past, but I must say the team that are now at Moorhouse seem to be really working together, this can most certainly be seen in the morale of the staff which reflects on the residents. Activities became excellent and I hope all her fantastic work will continue. Thank you Moorhouse.

My aunt has been at Moorhouse for 18 months. The family is very happy with the standard of care provided. Most importantly, my aunt is very happy too. She looks a great deal healthier than when she was living in her own home assisted by carers. The food is good and there are plenty of activities for my aunt to participate in, if she wants to. The carers seem excellent to me.

Having researched many homes in the area we are delighted we chose Moorhouse. From our first meeting with management to experiencing the care and attention from the nurses, the friendly housekeeping staff and great help from maintenance when we needed help, we cannot fault Moorhouse. Mum went to Moorhouse Nursing Home straight from hospital. it was not something she wanted and was very reluctant to engage with anything on offer and stayed in her room. over a relatively short period of time, she went downstairs for both meals and activities due to the encouragement and engagement of the staff
Staff have got to know Mum and her needs and ways really quickly and she actively engages with them and chats away happily. when her newfound friend recently passed away, staff recognised Mum's distress and were really empathetic to her.
her medical needs are monitored well and when action is needed it is dealt with quickly.
The manager at Moorhouse is both friendly and approachable. She makes herself readily available in person and responds quickly to emails

overall I am really impressed with Moorhouse and feel Mum is safe, and really well looked after. Thank you to the manager and the entire team

My mother moved into Moorhouse Nursing Home at the beginning of September as she wasn't safe living alone at home. The staff have been unfailingly kind and helpful to Mum and to my sister and myself as we struggled with making such a change. It was made easier by expert support and the support of such a great team. Mum has more interaction with people and activities and is brighter than she has been for years. It really feels like a home from home.

My mum had a fall and went to hospital. She was assessed and it was decided she was not safe to move back into the community. Moorhouse Nursing Home was brilliant. We managed to move Mum into one of their garden rooms. All the staff were kind and helpful and we can visit Mum whenever we like. The food is delicious and Mum has the freedom to walk around as she wishes and go into the garden whenever she wants. The staff are very patient with her. It is a huge relief to all the family that she is safe and being well cared for.

My mum arrived at Moorhouse Nursing Home directly from hospital just before Christmas 2022. Within a few days, her overall well-being had transformed and she was looking so much brighter and more talkative. Her mobility has increased significantly since being at Moorhouse, I’m pleased to see her recovery and that she is well supervised by the staff. My mum enjoys the food, especially the cake! It’s also good to see her interacting with the other residents and taking part in activities when she can. The staff at all levels are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. Moorhouse has a country house feel and it’s good to see improvements and renovations taking place. I enjoy visiting and my mum and I have often been given space and time to sit together and do activities. I’m really pleased that my dog can visit too. Whilst there will always be good and bad days with my mum’s Alzheimer’s I feel confident the staff at Moorhouse can provide the best care for her increased needs.

My dad has come into Moorhouse straight from hospital.
He has had amazing care since he arrived.
He is in a freshly painted room with new furniture and the home arranged for his chair and TV to be picked up and put in his room so he feels right at home.
I cannot fault the care he is receiving. Nothing is ever too much trouble, my dad is on a pureed diet which is all done separately, and when he is fed the staff are so patient with him. All the staff are attentive and friendly and we get coffee and cake when we visit.

My dad is always clean and shaven and his washing is all done and returned freshly ironed and hung in his wardrobe even though my dad is bedbound.

What a poor excuse for a nursing home. My mother was persuaded to go to this nursing home after consulting with Social Services. Prior to moving to Moorhouse Nursing Home, all she got to see were images and a brochure. She found the food poor, activities for the residents did not exist although listed and exhorted on Moorhouse Nursing Home's website, management appeared poor and leaderless, and there appeared to be a lack of permanent staff with many agency staff filling the gaps. When I moved my mother from this place I took images of the filth on her floor which included dried faeces. I can not see how this home scores so highly. The whole place looked tired and underfunded although they charge a small fortune to live there. Not recommended in any way shape or form.
