The new manager has changed this home amazingly. Not just the decor, but the staff have been so motivated by her example. I look forward to the next CQC report. I am sure it will be an improvement.

Well done to all the staff.

On arrival when visiting, staff are very friendly and welcoming. The medical nurses are very helpful and keep me informed on my husband's condition. Carers are attentive and helpful, sometimes under pressure when short-staffed, then not always quick to respond when a patient needs the toilet - accidents happen!

Food and service are very good. Overall the home is being decorated and updated making improvements for the better all round. The management are very helpful, would recommend to other people to go there.

I have been visiting my mother-in-law at Parkside for approximately 15 months and unfortunately during this period, the overall standards of care have remained poor. The building is dated and in need of modernisation. The temperature in the home is run off one boiler and, therefore, the temperature in each room can not be regulated. The communication with the staff is difficult due to most not having a good grasp of English. The food is not of a good standard and the washing facilities outside of the rooms have been broken ever since my mother-in-law entered the home.

I would not personally recommend Parkside Nursing Home in Banstead as I have found that the quality of care for my mother was not up to an acceptable standard. The personal hygiene was compromised by not having a working shower/bath facility in the home. The food was not varied and was of poor quality. Far too many residents appeared to remain in their beds throughout the day and did not have involvement in any activities. The staffing levels appeared compromised especially at weekends and I found that the staff didn't communicate well with residents or visitors. The record-keeping for my mother was inaccurate and incomplete. The decor of the home is old and shabby. Unfortunately, I could not find any positive feedback at all to recommend this home.

The staff were all very helpful, caring and kind. My mother was well cared for. I couldn't fault the care. The building is depressing. The common room needed painting and upgrading. The TV was too small for the room. The bedrooms were spartan, with poor curtains, bedding and decor.

My Father was admitted into Parkside after a severe stroke. I was devastated that he would never return home. My fears and worries were unfounded. The care my Father has received is above and beyond what I or anyone could expect. The staff have become my family. The emotional and physical care that has been shown to my Dad is beyond words. The "lady" who rules the roost, is the key to the success of Parkside. She always has time for family and the residents in her care.

Very happy with the care my sister receives, the staff are very kind and although my sister has dementia, l think she is happy living at Parkside. I would recommend this nursing home to friends and family, also the costs are very reasonable too.

My overall experience of the home and staff is one of great satisfaction, with tremendous care and hospitality shown to the residents and to visitors alike. Cleanliness has never been an issue in the years that I have been visiting, regarding residents or premises. The food standard is exceptional, especially when special celebration days are held. The staff are very kind and well mannered and importantly are always busy, however they are fully aware of when a resident requires assistance. Overall entertainment is well considered and suitable for the majority of residents (you can't please all the people all of the time!) importantly the duration of the activity is judged well.

The care our god-mother received in her unfortunately short time at Parkside was caring and fantastic. We could not have wished for more.
Our godmother loved her food and it was very tasty.
All the team were exceptional for her and my sister and I. Our regret is that she never joined Parkside sooner and got to enjoy it more.

She went too soon, but very cared for. Thank you!

From the moment the manager accepted my mother to Parkside myself and my family found a whole group of the most wonderful caring people in a happy home, headed by the manager.
Nothing was too much trouble. The kindness and respect shown to my mother and thoughtfulness shown to my family got us through a nightmare.
Thanks seems so inadequate.
I can recommend this home without reservation.

Thank you to all the staff from the manager to the cleaner. God bless you all. Without you, Mum's end would have been so difficult.

We were impressed with the team at Parkside from day one - we were met and greeted by name when being shown around the property as we contemplated bringing our dad here. We visited more than once in the lead up and the same was true each time we came. The Matron leads the team well and by example. She is attentive and involved - which was always appreciated. The team around her are incredibly personable and both engaging with and interested in each guest. They also make the same effort with their families which we appreciated greatly. Standards of care we found to be very good and we would happily recommend it to others as it all felt genuine. In terms of things for potential improvements - well - perhaps some more could be spent on redecorating some areas and replacing some furniture but then it would cost rather more per week. Personally, I feel they have invested in and maintained the most important thing - the standard of care.

I find it very reassuring that my mother is cared for by such thoughtful and kind people. My mother is a very anxious person and everything is done to help her feel more relaxed and every effort is made to involve my mother in activities organised at the nursing home. The nursing home has given my mother back to me I can enjoy visiting without any of the responsibility and allows us to make the most of what time she may have left. Many many thanks.

Overall Experience

I visit Parkside every day to accompany my wife, feeding her lunch (& also having my lunch which I purchase). After lunch I take her to her room, clean her teeth, and if it is fine sometimes take her into the garden for an hour. After this she is taken to the toilet and then seated in her easy chair in the Living Room (I have a chair next to hers). We sit together throughout the afternoon. She has cake and a drink around 3.00pm and then has her evening meal at 5.00pm which I serve to her. The staff will later take her to her room and put her into bed for the night. Almost all the staff who work as Carers do a fine job, showing concern for the residents and ensuring that they are comfortable, clean and regularly toileted. I know all of them personally and call them by their Christian names; they also call me by mine. I am very glad that we found this residential home where my wife is well cared for. I leave Parkside after my wife has finished her supper, around 6.00 - 6.15pm.

The home provides a good standard of care and have, in the majority, patient and caring staff. The only area where I believe some improvement could be made is in attention to detail over drug administration and record keeping.

Overall Experience

My wife was taken into Parkside in July 2015. She had many problems. She was immobile and incontinent. She was a diabetic and was on medicine (for more than 20 years) relating to her difficult mental state. Today she is a new woman. No diabetic problems. No psychiatric issues and no psychotic drugs. She is now mobile with the support of a frame and takes responsibility for her toilet needs. This change occurred from the constant daily monitoring by the nursing staff of her condition. They ensured that all her nursing/medical requirements were always acted on with great efficiency. This was complemented by some truly helpful care staff who look after her every need. They were always on hand instantly to support, cajole and create a rapport with my wife. The cleanliness of the nursing home is excellent. The food is of a high standard. Overall this is an excellent nursing home. My wife is extremely happy there. She continues to enjoy the tremendous support that is offered.
