Woodlands Total Care Nursing Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I was admitted into Hospital for major surgery, I faced the difficult task of finding a short-term respite placement for my father. At the last minute, I found Woodlands Nursing Home, and I truly cannot praise them enough.
From the manager and nurses to the carers, chefs, and cleaners, the entire team
was outstanding. Though it is a large home, they provided dedicated, individual attention to my father, making him feel like part of the family rather than just a resident.
I was incredibly nervous to leave him, but their warmth and professionalism immediately put us both at ease. They are a credit to the care profession. I highly recommend Woodlands to anyone seeking a compassionate and welcoming environment for their loved ones
Even though it's a large care home, they don't treat people like numbers. I'd highlight that their individual dedication is rare; they manage to provide a personalized, "family" atmosphere despite the size of the building.
I am forever grateful.
Reply from Remya Gopalakrishnan, Woodlands Manager at Woodlands Total Care Nursing HomeDear Maggie, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. I have been a resident here for 2 weeks, and my stay here was peaceful and a comfortable one. The staff, nurses, carers were extremely conscientious, devoted, and caring. The routine and timing was excellent, and the dedication of staff is to be admired! I do not wish to comment on meals/food cause
that is rather a personal taste. I was satisfied with the variety provided for me. Nor do I wish to pick on any negative aspects which I feel do not apply to me. Thanks for the care I have had here at Parkview Nursing Home.

I have found the establishment to be clean and well-maintained. The management and staff are helpful, cheerful and appear to work efficiently. As a visitor to my wife, I am not made to feel intrusive and am warmly welcomed to the home. My wife, the patient, is very happy with the way she is moved and
kept clean, being a retired NHS consultant, she would soon let me know of any shortcomings. I, without hesitation, would recommend Moreland House to anybody.

My wife has been in Ashbrook N.H. for 16 months and she has settled in very well. I have managed to visit her very regularly and have always found the staff to be very helpful and willing to answer questions about her health and care given. Entertainment is varied and the residents are encouraged to
take part. Towards the end of November there was a quiz night, which was well attended by residents, relatives and friends. I find it hard to find faults. Food, cleanliness of rooms and furniture is very good.

Greg appears to be looked after ok. I'm not sure if he is moved or adjusted regularly whilst in bed, as he is constantly lying in bed now ,which is not great. Our concern as a family is, he is permanently in bed since leaving hospital and doesn't get much interaction apart from when being fed/washed,
etc. He watches TV but there's no socialising at all.

Excellent all round except, lounge is cold starke like a hospital waiting room, therefore do not like to ever use. Food is always spicey/curry/asian flavoured even when its not suppossed to be. I can not eat it. Alternative is not offered. My partner keeps me in constant supply of rice pudding pots
1 or 2 everyday along with other food. If it wasn't for this I would be left to go hungery most days.

I've had a positive experience at the care home. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The monthly relatives meetings provide a great platform for sharing feedback. The management is very receptive to suggestions and has made noticeable improvements, such as installing new, easy clean floors
and enhancing the internet connection. This makes it much easier for distant relatives to stay connected via social media and video calls.
