My then 81 year old mum was submitted in Feb. When I visited a few days later to my horror I found mum with a horrendous black eye and half her face and head completely bruised. Nobody from the home knew what had happened or how mum sustained her injuries. They hadn't informed the family of an incident
or called an ambulance. Totally appalling. The manager couldn't shed any light and quickly told me and my brother mum was not welcome due to our reaction. We naturally reacted how anyone would. So mum was homeless. I insisted an ambulance was called. Mum was taken to the hospital that day. She could walk then but quickly lost that ability in the hospital. Over 5 months later the family are still waiting for answers. The home has still not provided their report. I would strongly advise caution when putting a loved one in this place. Something happened to my mum. It seems like the home do not want anyone to know the truth. Please take note of this and stay clear. It has ruined mum's life.

Unfortunately the experience of my mum was poor and not recommended. I don't' write reviews often.
My mum came here from hospital to free a hospital bed. I was in the process of moving her nearer to my family. She was only a resident for 3 weeks. Here we go.

The food was average
No one asks a

visitor if they would like a hot drink. Even if staff are not busy and just sitting in the same room. I once asked for a tea for my mum and got coffee, if you get the small details wrong. You wont get the big things right.
I was not aware my mum went into the gardens on the ground floor once. Despite the heat.
On the 2nd floor they have 2 flicking lights for the 3 weeks she has been there. No change.
My wife was asked to fill in numerous papers of information. Only to be rang at 9 pm for the same!
My mum has now died. My wife and I went to pick up some pictures and a rosary. We asked for the balance of her account. Only to be told. Come back in two weeks as the person is on holiday!!!!!

Our dad received exceptional care in his final weeks in Parkview. He was treated with the utmost compassion, kindness, dignity and respect at all times. This was our observation of the other residents too.
It was a very difficult time for us but knowing he was being looked after so well made all the
difference. We felt listened to and understood which was so important to us.
Every one of the team work long hours and so hard and they are all dedicated to their work.
We could not have wished for a better place for our dad to be. If you are looking for a home for your loved one to be well cared for you will find no better place.

Excellent care, the staff were amazing, treated my mother with dignity, compassionate, the home itself was clean, secure with good security measures. The care team provided the physio "the life team" were brilliant. The visiting hours were good with plenty of time to spend with my mum. My mum said the
food was good. Due to our stay only being short we didn't experience any activities but I did see a timetable of activities such as a visit to the seaside, hairdresser which I thought was great. I felt reassured that my mum was here at Park View. My only negative comment is I felt each room should come with a TV - we had to purchase one in order for mum to have some entertainment.

Big thank you to the staff at Abbey Ravencroft Park! I have visited my friend and neighbour who is a resident several times and been delighted, each time I come, to see her so happy and cheerful.
The staff are most welcoming towards me. More importantly they are very warm, friendly and attentive to
my friend. I am not sure I saw any managers and I haven't seen the rooms or any activities so can't comment on these. Further, I am not the person who pays so can't comment on value for money.

My husband was admitted in the late stages of cancer. He was in occasional pain when admitted. In uplands the palliative care was greatly improved. The care that he received for the last two weeks of his life was excellent, he died peacefully, I was with him.
Also we (my adult children and myself)
were welcomed anytime and were treated with great kindness.

My wife has been at Parkside for 5 months during which time she has been treated very well. The staff are invariably courteous and cheerful and have sense of humour. The home may not have the gloss of some, but it certainly has the primary requirements of space, toilet facilities and cleanliness. This
is especially so as the home plainly has many occupants whose needs are well beyond those of basic old age infirmary.
