Forest Place Nursing Home

Most importantly I know my mum is in good hands! Forest Place has had a lot of changes with the expansion of the building & since a recent quality care review. I think the staff are mostly hard working - there are a number of care workers/nurses & managers that have now settled into their roles & conduct day to day jobs & teams very well. There are still a few that are according to my family less well trained & communication & follow ups can sometimes be difficult & no one answering the phone etc.

A well managed, safe environment that my mum is very comfortable in. Her needs are well met and the care she recieves is excellent. The staff are all professional and friendly. Overall we are all very happy with the care mum recieves.

The Family of our loved resident have overall been completely satisfied with the services and care provided by the care workers, nurses, etc. The new care home manager is great, and he, along with the entire team of care staff, nurses, right down to reception desk, etc. make great efforts to take care of the residents, listen to any concerns and take action, and make improvements. The activities planned are always well put together, and the food provided very good and always improving. The care staff and nurses interact with residents and show care. Overall, we are completely satisfied with the care provided by Forest Place. Thank you!

Always find dad clean and tidy and happy. The entertainment is very poor needs to be upped a level more music than television. Management needs to come round and start to mingle with visitors and see if there is more they can do or improve

I am a resident & have been here 30 years. I am very happy here and the staff are very kind and helpfull to me. I also enjoy going to church Shopping Outings and Drum Class every Thursday.

Visit dad when I can, staff always friendly + helpful. Can't say enough about how well they look after him.

I am very pleased with the care my wife is receiving.

Listed as nursing and dementia care - there is no care. It just about meets the requirements for food and drink - even though most of the time I would do this myself. Residents are forgotten about in their rooms, no activities or stimulation throughout the home. Not secure for dementia care. Reports falsified and residents having falls due to lack of supervision. Decline in physical health due to neglect. Bed sores high risk. Only good thing about the home was the operations manager who left when she realised how awfully the home was being run. New manager is the least caring individual I have ever met. The CQC report shows a fraction of what we see.

My mother has been at Forest Place care home for the past two and a half years. Over this period her dementia has advanced considerably and so her needs have increased. We have been so appreciative of how the staff have coped with her care and her more complex needs. They are so very kind and caring and treat her with the utmost respect and dignity. They strive to make her life as comfortable as possible and to both reassure her and to share in her chat and humour. The Activity leaders have sought ways to interact meaningfully with her and this has been very beneficial for her and brought her much comfort. Much effort has gone into encouraging her to eat and to catering for her likes and dislikes. Staff have kept us informed of her daily living and been very supportive of us on this difficult journey.

Special occasions like Mother's Day, Valentine's Day etc are celebrated with a party but there are also plenty of daily and weekly activities.

My friend has been in Forest Place for 6 years, and the carers have been and still are the best. I have no complaints, they are just so caring, supportive, lovely and friendly.

I have found the care at Forest Place excellent; the nurses and carers are extremely caring and of high quality. The reception staff are also excellent. The staff who also do housekeeping are pleasant always with a smile. (5 stars)

Need more mature staff with life experiences and common sense. English speaking should be a priority!! Many do not understand family requirements when approached.

Staff are very friendly and try hard to provide excellent care for my mother. My mother is very confused and can be very difficult and aggressive but the staff are patient and do their best to calm her down and look after her. The home provides very good food, which my mother enjoys.

I do not belomg here because l am not demented l was put in a care home without my consent. Summarily l need medical attention which l can not get here. A carer told me that the whole staff hate me that they pretend to laugh at me which means l am not safe in their hands.

The service and the support given by carers is excellent and am happy in here. They provide all the facilities I need on time. They treat me with full dignity and ensure my safety. The management gives all the support.

My father has been a resident for a few years. He is on Stradbroke unit and is quite settled. The care and attention given to him is excellent. This year's Christmas party surpassed itself with a live singer and staff dressed up in costumes and of course party food. Although dementia is slowly taking its course but the party awakened something in my father and it was so moving to see him laughing and singing. A magic time to have my dad back. Well done Forrest Place for all your continuing care.

They always contact us with any problems that arise and discuss with us the options. The food is very good and the rooms are always kept clean.

So far I have found Forest Homes to be very supportive towards my father. Any issues raised by us as a family have been listened to and addressed. The regular staff have been very accommodating and the manager is excellent and kind, caring and always smiling. To be honest most of the staff have been very friendly polite and reassuring. Yes, I have a couple of favourites.

Mum has been a resident for close to 2 years. The home is clean and fresh. The staff are friendly and caring. I always get offered refreshments when I visit. With Mum's dementia, she often lashes her arms around. The staff always call me, if this had happened as Mum knocks her arms. I would recommend Forest Place to anyone.
