Forest Place Nursing Home

I used Forest Place for a one-week respite stay for my husband. The staff are very caring and work to a professional standard. Nothing is too much trouble for them in making the resident feel welcome and safe in their care. Thank you so much.

My recent loss of my dad was handled with compassion and tender care. I will always be grateful.

My father has been a resident at the care home for almost four months. His dementia means he can be difficult but the staff are excellent with him. They treat my father with dignity and respect. He is well-fed, well-turned out and well-looked after. The facilities are excellent but the staff are the icing on the cake.

My father has only been a resident for just over three weeks but during that time, I have found the staff to be friendly, kind, attentive and courteous. Whilst awaiting placement in a nursing home, my father was in hospital, deteriorating rapidly before our eyes and it was heartbreaking to watch. Not least of our problems was the fact that he was just refusing to eat and losing weight quickly. However, since being in Forest Place Care Home, where he is obviously so much happier, his appetite has improved and he has actually gained weight! So, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff who do a great job, sometimes under very difficult circumstances, particularly when coping with my father who, I know, due to the nature of dementia, is not always cooperative. Thank you all so much.

I have found the staff to be polite, kind, caring and can not find anything bad about your staff. They are always helpful, even when I keep pestering about my wife. They care about her. I don't know what I or my children would have done without your care home.

The staff always make me feel welcome and are always available to talk. I cannot praise this establishment highly enough.

The facilities at Forest Place are extremely user-friendly, and residents live in a very pleasant environment. The rooms are clean and fresh. The staff are all very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They are always available to help with any concerns one may have.

For the short period of time my nan lived at Forest Place, she was cared for and very well looked after. The staff are all amazing, supported all of my nan's needs and she was happy in her final days.

It wasn't something I ever wanted to do - put Mum and Dad in a home, but the minute we found Forest Place, the stress left me. Everyone makes such a fuss of them, knows their personalities, and I know they are in safe hands. I thought the Jubilee garden party was excellent and would love more family get-togethers. Thank you to the staff and the manager for their support.

I am very happy with the home. Lots of lovely staff. Very caring.

She is floating in and out of awareness. The staff do everything to try to engage with her. When they succeed, she is happy. Everyone is trying to be as positive as possible to ensure she is comfortable.

I am always more than happy to write a review for Forest Place Care Home in Buckhurst Hill. We, as a family/extended family, are so pleased for and thankful Forest Place is where our loved one is. We could not feel more confident that she is being well looked after and treated with the utmost kindness and care. I always feel welcomed as a visitor right from the reception desk, the home manager, care staff - all friendly, warm and I love how I see them interact with the residents...brilliant! Thank you.

My mother was at Forest Place for four years. The staff treated her with respect, kindness and dignity at all times. My mother was very well looked after and treated as family, as so were we. Her room was lovely in every aspect, and we would recommend Forst Place always.

We believe that our dad is being cared for very well. The nurses and carers we have dealt with have all been amazing and kind. We would 100% recommend Forest Place nursing home to family, friends and will ensure that we speak to CQC about our good experience.

My husband continues to be very well looked after at Forest Place by a team of excellent nurses and carers, including promptly receiving prescription medication for a recent health problem. They held a lovely little Christmas party for residents and family members providing nice buffet food with a glass of wine and some entertainment. It was very nice to see the interaction between the residents and staff in a light-hearted situation.

My Mum was transferred here for end-of-life care after a bad fall and dementia led to hospital and rehab stays before transfer to Forest Place. I have nothing but praise for the care Mum received and the kindness shown to her during her stay. Equally, the staff went out of their way to keep me informed of Mum's condition and ultimately when she passed away were so caring and kind. I would not hesitate to recommend not only the accommodation but special praise must go to all the staff we met during mums stay. Thank you all once again.

The home is very good for my grandad and he is happy here.

I was quite concerned about my mum going into a nursing home but circumstances and Covid made the decision for us. We were first met with a very friendly response which put us at ease. The room was very clean and fresh-looking. The staff have always kept us well informed of any changes or problems in her condition. At 97 it took her a while to settle in and she still has days when she’s not quite sure about things but the staff are very accommodating in reassuring her that things are okay and getting her to interact with other residents. I haven’t got a bad word to say about Forest Place.
