Having my mother living with me and looking after her for many years myself; I was very nervous for her going into a Nursing Home and felt guilty as it's not a done thing in my culture. After a fall, breaking her hip and with Dementia, it was getting very hard for me to help keep Mum safe at home. I
had no reason to feel any of the above as Forest Place Nursing Home and their staff were amazing, most welcoming, very kind and helpful in every way possible, towards Mum and also us. Especially at these hard times, we're all living through, with COVID 19 pandemic, not being able to see Mum was very hard and heartbreaking, but the Management and the staff were very patient and very informative throughout. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and care given to Mum. I appreciate all their kindness. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

My nan had lived with my mum and was cared for by her for many years, and so following nan's fall, we were extremely nervous about her going to a nursing home. We were wrong to be so because from the very first day we have seen how amazing all the staff have been with nan and how respectful they were
to her needs as well as ours. The 'Lockdown' was particularly difficult for us not being able to see her, but the staff were very patient with our daily calls and kept us well informed throughout. We will be forever grateful for the kindness and care given to my nan.

They've kept me up-to-date on my dad's condition and have gone above and beyond in what is a very difficult time for everyone.

I cannot answer all questions as I have only been able to go inside the home once since June 2020. The room looked very clean and tidy. I have visited outside only four times and was treated well by the staff.

My father was admitted five months ago as a very sick fragile old man. He weighed 51 kilos and was bedridden. Today he weighs 60 kilos, stays up all day, walks with a frame and uses his ipad to skype relatives overseas.
This has been achieved because he received excellent nursing care including an
emphasis on nutrition during those early weeks with a real effort by all staff to make him fell at home. He now says he has a new family and he is content and happy at Forest Place.
The management is very visible and it is easy for my father on myself to raise and deal with issues as the arise.

My grandad was in this nursing home for 18 days, he had prostrate cancer which unfortunately spread to the bones. The staff were amazing, very kind, respectful and treated him with dignity. We couldn't have asked for better care for the last stage of his life.


Once again thank you so much for the

care the staff gave to my grandad, you all work so hard and deserve to be recognised.


I would highly recommend this home to others.

The staff and management, are very caring and listen to the needs of the resident and the family. Please tell them if you are not happy about anything and they will try to accommodate the needs of your loved one.


Nan was well cared for (7 months) and I was always given updates by the nursing staff

after GP visits. I was encouraged to give input into the care of my nan and her needs and the manager was always available to talk too.


I would like to thank all the staff on Maple Down Unit. I would also like to thank the admin staff and activities coordinator.


Nan will be missed but never forgotten.
