I am not responsible or involved in the financial side of my aunts care. Therefore I am unable to give a rating for 'value for money'

the home offers a very high standard of care for my aunt, and I am pleased to say this is done with compassion and love.

Thank you for your feedback.

Very satisfied with the care she receives. She is treated as an individual and is included in activities despite her limitations. Staff are friendly and the home is kept clean. Independence is encouraged as far as possible and she is well settled.

Mum was very happy here and always thought of all staff as her friends. A few weeks ago she had a meeting with a social worker and told him how well she was looked after and how good they all were to her. Activities are always good here and always something for residents to take part in if they want
to. All staff are very kind and always very helpful and genuine.

My wife has been in Ashbrook N.H. for 16 months and she has settled in very well. I have managed to visit her very regularly and have always found the staff to be very helpful and willing to answer questions about her health and care given. Entertainment is varied and the residents are encouraged to
take part. Towards the end of November there was a quiz night, which was well attended by residents, relatives and friends. I find it hard to find faults. Food, cleanliness of rooms and furniture is very good.

Ashbrook Nursing home is amazing. My dad had a stay here from Nov 22 - Jan 23. We highly recommend this nursing home so much so, we have our nan staying here 3 years later. Our nan is delighted to be here. She said the staff are amazing. There's nothing they wouldn't do. She doesn't want to be anywhere
else. Her appitite, mood and energy has increased since she came. We are all happy.

My father became unwell in the home, carers and nurses were very diligent, checking on him. He was admitted into hospital, and I was called regularly by staff checking on his progress. When he returned to the home, the staff were amazing, again, checking on him and caring for his needs and supporting
him and myself. Thank you to all the team on every level.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.368)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.368) out of 10 for Ashbrook Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 44 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.368 for Ashbrook Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (272 Excellents x 5) + (172 Goods x 4) + (56 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 511 Ratings = 4.368
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashbrook Nursing Home is based on 40 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 40 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
