There were issues on several occasions over a number of months where staff were leaving Dad alone in his room with his buzzer out of reach. I had to complain about this a couple of times before remedial action was taken. Thankfully there have been no further problems of this kind in recent weeks.

I have a friend in the care home. He is well looked after. Whenever he has appointments I'm always informed. Lots of activities in the care home and my friend enjoys it. The food is great, no problem at all. My friend is always neat and tidy. The carers are friendly. The care home is clean. I'm quite happy with the care home that my friend is in. Thank you!

The day-to-day care my mother receives from the carers is excellent. My mum is very settled and seems happy. The entertainment team works tirelessly to help stimulate the patients and create a happy fun environment for them.
They serve a variety of food which always looks lovely and you cannot fault the cleanliness of the resident's rooms and communal areas.
On a negative side, many of Mum's clothing items have gone missing, even though everything she has is clearly labelled. We have reported this, but unfortunately, none of the items have been found. Perhaps a new laundry system should be put into place, as many other family members of other residents have experienced the same issue.

On the whole, all staff are friendly and helpful and we have peace of mind that Mum is being taken care of by a dedicated team of people. Thank you!

This is about a specific nurse. Beach Ward - In my 20 years of experience as a registered general nurse, registered midwife and staff representative, I find this nurse to be outstanding. She can multitask the needs of residents, I'm sure several at least with complex needs. It is refreshing to see a nursing home where I don't have to repeat the same thing for months before it gets addressed. Furthermore, she would rightly advise you in your care and truly cares for residents in a time when staff shortage and morale are very low. She's the backbone and a precious asset.

Mum has been at Ashbrook for approximately 1 year, she loves the staff and has settled well. Unfortunately, we are moving so have found a home nearer to where we are going. If Mum doesn't settle we will certainly be asking to come back to Ashbrook.

My brother received the very best care during his time at the nursing home. He was the happiest he had been for a long time. The staff went above and beyond to encourage him to eat and make him comfortable.

Knowing that he was safe and cared for made a huge difference to the family so we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Mum was only at Ashbrook Nursing Home for a month, but during this period, she was very happy and settled. From the beginning, the staff treated her with dignity and respect. The staff were all friendly, and always made us feel very welcome and part of the family. When we had any concerns, they were dealt with immediately; especially by the manager. On one occasion, mentioned that Mum's nails needed cutting. The next day, I saw they'd been manicured.

During her stay, she had a few falls. Whenever this happened, we were notified immediately. On these occasions, we had conversations about what could be done to prevent this. This resulted in a new bed being provided to further minimise the risk. Another point is that the home respected all faiths. We are Jewish, and Mum wanted to light candles on our Sabbath. The home obliged by providing battery candles and a laminated sheet for the carers to use with Mum if she needed prompting. My family and I would like to thank all the staff for their dedication and professionalism whilst caring for Mum. We have no hesitation in recommending Ashbrook Nursing Home.

Dad went into the nursing home as he was very poorly with Parkinson’s and Dementia. From the moment he arrived, he was treated with care and respect. He had 1-2-1 care, and his carers were so friendly to us all. The home provided loads of activities, and they included Dad as best as they could. Sadly Dad passed away on the 3rd March, but the few weeks he spent at Ashbrook Nursing Home gave us the peace of mind that we needed, knowing that he was being well looked after. Thank you all so much for all you did for Dad and us as a family

The senior staff and care workers helped my mum from being bedbound to walking with a Zimmer frame. My mum felt loved, cared for and part of a community. The care home manager and senior nurse helped with my mum's medical needs in an empathetic way and provided genuine support.

With great trepidation from all of the family, my husband was taken into Ashbrook Nursing Home in January 2023. During this time he went through various changes in his behaviour which was very upsetting for all concerned. Throughout one of this the staff continuously tried to help him. Fortunately, the last two months of his life he became calmer which made our life so much easier for the end. All our thanks to our family from the home from my husband's family and me.

All the staff on the cedar unit are the best. From the moment we had a look around until the day we came to thank them for all their care and support in caring for my father-in-law. Nothing has been too much for them. We cannot thank them enough, from the reception staff, nursing/carers, kitchen staff, and cleaners; each and every one of you touched us, and we will never forget you all. Thank you for helping us when we were at rock bottom. I would highly recommend this nursing home. Thank you all again; we will never forget you.

My husband came to the home from the hospital and was very unsettled. Staff are kind and patient, and he became much calmer. Carers are smiley and friendly and also look after the visitors. The staff are good, and some are exemplary. I appreciate the effort put in to keep residents as active and involved as individually possible. Much of the well-being is generated by the excellent lady in charge of the unit my husband is in.

Care and attention to Mum is first class, although I wish Mum's eyes were checked out. I have mentioned this on many occasions to no avail. Whenever I have a problem it's sorted out very quickly (apart from mum's eyes).
