Overall Experience

After leaving hospital (under the Discharge to Assess framework), my husband has been at Ashbrook about three weeks at the time of writing this review. We have visited almost every day. Ashbrook is a modern care home, and so far seems clean, secure and well-managed. The management have been helpful when I had questions about his care. I appreciate that the staff have been kind in caring for my husband, even though his dementia and delirium mean he vigorously resists the personal care he needs.

I am very pleased to see my husband so settled in the home. He says it is like being in a hotel. He is happy that his social needs are being met. The staff are polite and caring. The food seems to be of good quality and the rooms are regularly cleaned. There are plenty of activities.

Fantastic, clean, friendly care home! I think it's brilliant animals welcome as communal pets. Staff do well attending to needs of residents. Maybe at meal times the residents need some form of clothing protection for dropped foods.

When mum first came in both my brother and I were well imnpressed. Since then we couldn't ask for better care. Both nurses and carers are first class. If tere is ever a problem this is sorted out immediately. There is only one thing Mum is missing the most and that is chips. She loved her fish and chips.

I would totally recommend this care home to friends etc. Staff work very hard. Management listens to your opinions and views. Nurses are very good - I have had a few unhappy situations with one particular nurse but have informed management. Extremely clean - cleaners are excellent.

It is a difficult situation when an elderly parent needs additional care. Thank god we found Ashbrook and Cedar Unit in particular. The staff and management have helped us through this difficult period. My mother is now very happy, comfortable and extremely well cared for. A huge thank you to the fabulous team on the Cedar Unit.

Everybody in this home is very happy, cheerful and always ready to help if you need it. His particular nurse is always ready to give updates on my father's condition and very informative about his care plan. My father is happy and well cared for.

My husband has been sent here from hospital following a stroke and after a few hiccups, everything is fine. The staff are all friendly and caring and everything is spotlessly clean.

Food, room, and care - excellent.
Contact from outside to the required floor could be better - but with the new receptionist (very nice on the phone) this has improved.

A member of staff in particular on Cedar has been very informative as my friend is at end-of-life.
