I would totally recommend this care home to friends etc. Staff work very hard. Management listens to your opinions and views. Nurses are very good - I have had a few unhappy situations with one particular nurse but have informed management. Extremely clean - cleaners are excellent.

It is a difficult situation when an elderly parent needs additional care. Thank god we found Ashbrook and Cedar Unit in particular. The staff and management have helped us through this difficult period. My mother is now very happy, comfortable and extremely well cared for. A huge thank you to the fabulous

Everybody in this home is very happy, cheerful and always ready to help if you need it. His particular nurse is always ready to give updates on my father's condition and very informative about his care plan. My father is happy and well cared for.

Food, room, and care - excellent.
Contact from outside to the required floor could be better - but with the new receptionist (very nice on the phone) this has improved.
A member of staff in particular on Cedar has been very informative as my friend is at end-of-life.

My father was transferred to Ashbrook after a long stay in hospital. After initial concerns I spoke with management who took notice and acted immediately. This gave me more peace of mind and my father seemed more content. I have found staff on the Beech Unit to be kind, courteous, and compassionate.
A pleasant, friendly welcome helped me to accept the situation of my elderly father. Daily activities are entertaining and fun which is wonderful to see and greatly appreciated.

Mum transferred here from hospital. The treatment she has sustained there is appalling, in the process of moving mum as soon as possible. Been reported to safeguarding.

Please do not let your loved one be discharged by the hospital to Ashbrook Nursing Home, Cedar Level 2 ward. Sadly for a non-dementia patient, this ward is totally inappropriate. A catalogue of errors, including giving the wrong medication have occurred in just 36 hours. Safeguarding was raised and
a CQC investigation is underway.
You have a voice! You need to be that voice for your loved one when they are in need.
Don't let the hospital tell you it has to be Ashbrook - we didn't realise that - look up NHS approved discharge homes and tell the hospital you prefer whichever one it is ..... discuss it with them, don't just accept. We didn't know and so regret the upset and stress our Mum has been through.
We're moving her ourselves, at our own cost, to somewhere which we hope is safe, secure, and above all caring of their residents.
Good luck, it's a minefield!

Overall I am happy with the care home and staff who look after Mum. If there is an issue, it gets rectified. Cleaning staff are also very friendly to residents. Not so sure about laundry - clothes are washed at high temperatures, therefore shrinking. I have to buy clothes regularly.

Sadly our Mum was only in residence for around 6 weeks after suffering a stroke in January. However, the staff we encountered were extremely caring and helpful. They really seemed to have her best interests at heart, as if she was one of their own family. They really tried their best to encourage Mum,
but she had sadly given up the fight.
