Our mum has been in Ashbrook Nursing Home since June 2023 and we are happy with the cursor you received. Staff are courteous and caring, they attend to her needs. They are accommodating and will offer us chairs, tea, coffee etc. If we have any issues we speak to the nurse and she immediately steps in to resolve the issue medical or otherwise, also keeping us updated about Mum's health. Mum is happy and that is mostly down to the care she receives.

Extremely satisfied. The only problem we have is the loss of washing and missing items. We have asked for his own washing basket (in which he now has). We do all his washing by taking this home. Hopefully, we have now reached an agreement, nothing is to leave his room.

We are very pleased with how my uncle is looked after.

The staff are friendly and helpful. There is plenty to eat and drink, though food quality can be variable, with some meals more appetising than others.

The laundry system needs and overhaul - they are often marked up by staff with the resident's room number (instead of their name) but still go AWOL. I often wear clothing to the wrong room and items of my clothing are often missing- presumably in someone else's room!

My mother receives excellent care and safeguarding. There's regular, shared information and we feel included in all Mum's care needs and decision-making. There's a strong partnership between us and the nursing home.

Mum is treated with dignity and staff use compassionate language when speaking to Mum. As a family, we also feel included and respected. Well done Ashbrook Nursing Home. Food is excellent too.

Ashbrook Nursing Home is a nice, well-managed care home. All the staff are friendly, professional and caring people. General experience is very good, always managed to sort out issues whenever any occurred.

Criticism, been visiting for a few months to see my sister and experienced a faulty lift which has not been rectified. It keeps saying overload and the last person should leave when I am the only user. Chairs for visitors in rooms are scarce, managed to find one but it would be nice to have one in the rooms.

Staff are lovely and caring. Mum has settled in and thriving. I feel confident in her care and commitment of the staff. Updated on social media with pictures is a nice touch.

The only downside, mixing clothing with other residents occasionally. Must label everything!

Ashbrook Nursing Home was clean, professional and knowledgeable. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. All staff that I spoke to were kind and informative, especially when my uncle passed away and helped to make it a non-stressful experience. Many thanks to the team for allowing him to pass with dignity.

My Mum passed away last week. I am so so grateful to Sister and her staff on Cedar Unit. My Mum was well looked after. Always looked neat and tidy and happy, despite her dementia. All nurses and carers were friendly, caring and considerate. Mum only went to the care home in November and we were reluctant to put her in as you hear terrible stories of care homes. My brothers had done an amazing job of looking after her before that but it became too much for them. If we had known how good Ashbrook was going to be we would have been happy for her to go in earlier. I cannot thank the staff enough for all that you did to make my Mum's last days comfortable and all the support you gave to me and my family.

Review from Justin C (Son of Resident) published on 17 January 2023 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Absolutely brilliant home for my father. The staff are amazing and so are the many activities that are offered. He is prone to getting UTIs and we have had to report that he has been unwell on three separate occasions, instead of his 1:1 carer noticing this. We have asked the duty nurse that a litmus test on his urine is done weekly to find if any infections have been found so that treatment can be given before the infection gets too bad. Communication from Ashbrooks can be improved (ie: changes to medication). We would like to have regular carers who know my father to provide 1:1 care, rather than new staff or bank staff. Overall we are very happy with the care given to him and the support given to us, his family. Thank you for everything you do at Ashbrooks.
