Ashbrook Nursing Home was clean, professional and knowledgeable. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. All staff that I spoke to were kind and informative, especially when my uncle passed away and helped to make it a non-stressful experience. Many thanks to the team for allowing him to pass with

After a stay in hospital, I had a pleasant stay in the Ashbrook Nursing Home. The staff looked after, a very well and I was able to regain my strength and am now looking forward to returning home to my own home.

My Mum passed away last week. I am so so grateful to Sister and her staff on Cedar Unit. My Mum was well looked after. Always looked neat and tidy and happy, despite her dementia. All nurses and carers were friendly, caring and considerate. Mum only went to the care home in November and we were reluctant
to put her in as you hear terrible stories of care homes. My brothers had done an amazing job of looking after her before that but it became too much for them. If we had known how good Ashbrook was going to be we would have been happy for her to go in earlier. I cannot thank the staff enough for all that you did to make my Mum's last days comfortable and all the support you gave to me and my family.

Absolutely brilliant home for my father. The staff are amazing and so are the many activities that are offered. He is prone to getting UTIs and we have had to report that he has been unwell on three separate occasions, instead of his 1:1 carer noticing this. We have asked the duty nurse that a litmus
test on his urine is done weekly to find if any infections have been found so that treatment can be given before the infection gets too bad. Communication from Ashbrooks can be improved (ie: changes to medication). We would like to have regular carers who know my father to provide 1:1 care, rather than new staff or bank staff. Overall we are very happy with the care given to him and the support given to us, his family. Thank you for everything you do at Ashbrooks.

After leaving hospital (under the Discharge to Assess framework), my husband has been at Ashbrook about three weeks at the time of writing this review. We have visited almost every day. Ashbrook is a modern care home, and so far seems clean, secure and well-managed. The management have been helpful
when I had questions about his care. I appreciate that the staff have been kind in caring for my husband, even though his dementia and delirium mean he vigorously resists the personal care he needs.

I am very pleased to see my husband so settled in the home. He says it is like being in a hotel. He is happy that his social needs are being met. The staff are polite and caring. The food seems to be of good quality and the rooms are regularly cleaned. There are plenty of activities.

Fantastic, clean, friendly care home! I think it's brilliant animals welcome as communal pets. Staff do well attending to needs of residents. Maybe at meal times the residents need some form of clothing protection for dropped foods.

When mum first came in both my brother and I were well imnpressed. Since then we couldn't ask for better care. Both nurses and carers are first class. If tere is ever a problem this is sorted out immediately. There is only one thing Mum is missing the most and that is chips. She loved her fish and chips.

I would totally recommend this care home to friends etc. Staff work very hard. Management listens to your opinions and views. Nurses are very good - I have had a few unhappy situations with one particular nurse but have informed management. Extremely clean - cleaners are excellent.

It is a difficult situation when an elderly parent needs additional care. Thank god we found Ashbrook and Cedar Unit in particular.
