Overall the standard of care is good and we find staff most polite and obliging. However, Mum says she does not always get a regular cup of tea in the mid-morning break, especially at the weekends, or in the afternoon break. The dinners and the teas (unless I am around to speak to the staff) are not
always delivered hot enough (Mum doesn't like cool or cold meals and tea). Mum also says that when she arrived in October there were always staff around and some would pop in for a chat. Now the place seems quiet and almost deserted.

My sister is well cared for and is settled and reasonably happy. She has dementia and is unable to answer questions etc She enjoys activities although participation is very limited due to her condition. The staff are supportive and welcoming.

My grandad has only been at Ashbrook Nursing Home for a month but the service and carers have been brilliant. The place is like home from home and I really feel like the carers care and that it's not just a job. The communication has been outstanding and we as a family, have been really pleased with

Staff work hard.
Entertainment is really good for residents.
Overall Management is approachable.
Food could be better instead of sandwiches a hot meal in the evenings.

There were issues on several occasions over a number of months where staff were leaving Dad alone in his room with his buzzer out of reach. I had to complain about this a couple of times before remedial action was taken. Thankfully there have been no further problems of this kind in recent weeks.

The residents are cared for with love.
I am very pleased with the care my dear friend is receiving at Ashbrook Nursing Home. All the staff and carers are friendly, helpful and treat the residents with respect and love. The resident's rooms are very clean and the residents are well cared for and I know

The day-to-day care my mother receives from the carers is excellent. My mum is very settled and seems happy. The entertainment team works tirelessly to help stimulate the patients and create a happy fun environment for them.
They serve a variety of food which always looks lovely and you cannot fault
the cleanliness of the resident's rooms and communal areas.
On a negative side, many of Mum's clothing items have gone missing, even though everything she has is clearly labelled. We have reported this, but unfortunately, none of the items have been found. Perhaps a new laundry system should be put into place, as many other family members of other residents have experienced the same issue.
On the whole, all staff are friendly and helpful and we have peace of mind that Mum is being taken care of by a dedicated team of people. Thank you!

This is about a specific nurse. Beach Ward - In my 20 years of experience as a registered general nurse, registered midwife and staff representative, I find this nurse to be outstanding. She can multitask the needs of residents, I'm sure several at least with complex needs. It is refreshing to see a
nursing home where I don't have to repeat the same thing for months before it gets addressed. Furthermore, she would rightly advise you in your care and truly cares for residents in a time when staff shortage and morale are very low. She's the backbone and a precious asset.

On visiting my sister-in-law for the first time at the Ashbrook Nursing Home. I got the distinct impression of a wonderful family, home atmosphere. Patients and staff alike looked happy and contented. I was shown my sister-in-law's room (by her husband) it was clean, comfortable and had a relaxing atmosphere.
The staff were doing jigsaw puzzles, chatting and walking with some residents.

When I visit my Mum she always seems to be happy, clean, and tidy and she gets nice meals and good entertainment. She has a nice room which is always clean and tidy and the carers are very friendly and helpful.

Mum has been at Ashbrook for approximately 1 year, she loves the staff and has settled well. Unfortunately, we are moving so have found a home nearer to where we are going. If Mum doesn't settle we will certainly be asking to come back to Ashbrook.

My brother received the very best care during his time at the nursing home. He was the happiest he had been for a long time. The staff went above and beyond to encourage him to eat and make him comfortable.
Knowing that he was safe and cared for made a huge difference to the family so we thank you

Mum was only at Ashbrook Nursing Home for a month, but during this period, she was very happy and settled. From the beginning, the staff treated her with dignity and respect. The staff were all friendly, and always made us feel very welcome and part of the family. When we had any concerns, they were
dealt with immediately; especially by the manager. On one occasion, mentioned that Mum's nails needed cutting. The next day, I saw they'd been manicured.
During her stay, she had a few falls. Whenever this happened, we were notified immediately. On these occasions, we had conversations about what could be done to prevent this. This resulted in a new bed being provided to further minimise the risk. Another point is that the home respected all faiths. We are Jewish, and Mum wanted to light candles on our Sabbath. The home obliged by providing battery candles and a laminated sheet for the carers to use with Mum if she needed prompting. My family and I would like to thank all the staff for their dedication and professionalism whilst caring for Mum. We have no hesitation in recommending Ashbrook Nursing Home.

Dad went into the nursing home as he was very poorly with Parkinson’s and Dementia. From the moment he arrived, he was treated with care and respect. He had 1-2-1 care, and his carers were so friendly to us all. The home provided loads of activities, and they included Dad as best as they could. Sadly
Dad passed away on the 3rd March, but the few weeks he spent at Ashbrook Nursing Home gave us the peace of mind that we needed, knowing that he was being well looked after. Thank you all so much for all you did for Dad and us as a family

The senior staff and care workers helped my mum from being bedbound to walking with a Zimmer frame. My mum felt loved, cared for and part of a community. The care home manager and senior nurse helped with my mum's medical needs in an empathetic way and provided genuine support.
