Due to Covid-19, my visits to Ashbrook stopped on 5 March 2020 (except three garden and one pod visit, not inside the unit). My aunt has been moved to a new room on a different floor, where after a Covid test and wearing PPE, I have been escorted directly to and from her room, for my May and June visit.
I have not viewed the rest of the unit since March 2020 and for example, have never seen the lounge on this floor. I am therefore unable to give any meaningful appraisal of the unit at this time. As a guide, I have completed the boxes, which relates to the period between March 2020 - the value for money options has not been completed as I ain't involved or have any knowledge of funding my aunt's care.

I arrived at the nursing home at the appointed time and the receptionist was waiting for us. She was polite and helpful. We were taken up to where my brother's room was. The room was clean, bright, well maintained. All the staff were friendly and appeared caring, the staff knew we had travelled a long
distance and instantly offered us refreshments. My brother was brought to his room from the lounge, and the staff were obviously looking after him and keeping him happy - all in all I am very impressed with his care.

I have only visited a few times but on the occasions I have, my grandparent has been dealt with care and compassion. However, the biggest positive I have witnessed is the time and effort the staff put into looking after my other grandparent who comes to visit every day. I cannot thank the staff enough
for all they do to look after both the physical wellbeing of my resident grandparent and the emotional wellbeing of my non-resident grandparent.

My mother was dying when she was fast-tracked to the home and over two years later she is still with us! Of course, no home is going to score 100% but from my own experience, I have been happy with my mother's care.

The home has done everything that they can to keep residents safe during the pandemic. They have tried hard when possible to let family in to see residents but have also followed the guidance to the letter too. It has been a hard decision for them to make I am sure, but families have been kept up to
date with Facebook videos and Facetime calls. Thank you for all you are doing.

They were very caring and considerate of his and our needs. He was living on Beech Unit and the care he received was excellent as was his room. When he was close to the end they allowed us to spend precious time with him and were amazing. When he passed it was a great comfort to know he wasn’t alone

The care, compassion and friendliness of the staff cannot be faulted. My mother was treated with such dignity. The home has a lovely atmosphere and is made extra special by the wonderful staff. It was like having friends caring for my mother. Beach unit you are a credit to the profession.

My sister was sent to the Ashbrook nursing home straight from the hospital. It was the 1st time anyone from our family had needed to go into a home so we were a bit dubious. But when we saw the home and staff to say we were pleased wouldn't do it justice. The home is spotless and very well maintained,
and the staff, right from the cleaners to the nursing staff are very caring and patient with residents and families! No matter what time we called or visited they were always ready to help and give words of comfort. And they treated the patients as though they were their own family, no one can ask more from someone than that. My whole family would like to give our thanks blessings for all the staff at Ashbrook Nursing Home.

All the staff at Ashbrook are excellent and did their utmost to provide all the care needs for father. We would recommend the care to any potential residents, it is safe and secure. The residents' rooms are spacious and the facilities are also of a high standard.

I am very happy with the care my mum is receiving, the staff seem very caring and seem very good with the residents. The home and grounds seem very clean and well maintained. It is nice to see the residents taking part in all the activities that are set out for them.

The staff are extremely helpful and care for the patients (my grandmother) very well. The home is very clean and tidy and comfortable to be in. The patients all seem happy and content.

Very impressed with care. All staff are very patient and caring. Activities are brilliant, I am amazed at the imagination used to make them so fun and successful. Facebook is great because we are able to see dad most days and we are very grateful for that especially because of the Covid 19 lockdown.
