Only been here once in the garden so can't comment much but it's lovely in the garden.

I have been a resident here for the last 5-months, and I can honestly say that I can give this nursing home an excellent review.
All the staff from the manager/nurses/carers/kitchen team/activity team/domestics and laundry personnel are definitely on top of their game, they are well trained and are
tremendously friendly and caring.
When I arrived in February, I had no control of my legs, and it has only been the care, day and night that has given me back control. I received total relaxation, and the care required to be where I am, combined with the attention they have given me, I can not thank Ashbrook Nursing Home enough.
I have never experienced a nursing home before, only seen some on TV! But this one is gladly so, so much more.

Everyone at Ashbrook is absolutely lovely, caring and I’d highly recommend to family. My nan was treated with care and dignity during her final days, and all members of staff were lovely to Nan and her visitors.

My mum was admitted to the Beach unit for terminally ill and from the manager, nurses, carers, cleaners, cooks and laundry I could not fault the passion and care they had shown towards my late mum. I think they totally should receive good rating they thoroughly deserve it.

She has been well looked after.
All management and staff are caring and helpful.
Activities staff are very good with many visiting singers.
She lives in pleasant surroundings.

My late mother spent almost a year at Ashbrook Nursing Home and during that time she was treated well and with empathy by the staff who are kind and thoughtful.
Since the addition of new management and the employment of a full-time activities staff member the home has become more vibrant.
My mum
although suffering from dementia was happy and for us as a family that gives us comfort.

My mother stays on a regular respite basis. Every time she arrives she is greeted by staff using her name. She is made to feel welcome. She has been coming to this home for approximately two years on and off, but more regularly this year. She has always been happy to come here even though, at 97, there
are limited things she can do - therefore it is how she is made to feel that counts. I am happy to leave my mother in the care of the hard-working staff - hats off to them all. I feel that things have become more organised of late and am very happy.

Ashbrook is not suitable for walkers or dementia patients. There is only one social area where the residents sit all day watching television and having their lunch, dinner and tea. Activities are next to none. Carers do their best, but are understaffed and poorly lead. There is a distinctive odour around
the home that is quite unpleasant. So glad we found my dad another care home that is much better suited to his needs.

I have recently spent 3-4 weeks at Ashbrook for orthopaedic rehab and I found the experience very pleasant indeed. The carers were excellent, and the atmosphere kind and supportive. Nothing was too much trouble. I was especially impressed with the standards of cleaning and the staff delivering it,
and the quality of the food.
