Rodwell House has taken all the stress away for us and my dad. He is well looked after and the staff are very friendly. All the residents look happy and content, it's a pleasure to visit in the main lounge, and in Dad's lovely bedroom. Everywhere is well kept and I would recommend it any time.

Mum has been here for three and a half years. Over that quite significant amount of time the staff have adapted to her changing needs of care whilst all the while being kind, attentive and reassuring. The nursing and management team are very open and friendly, they run an open door policy and are more than happy to chat at anytime. Care plan reviews are also offered on a regular basis or when needs change. I would thoroughly recommend Rodwell House based on my own experience.

Love this care home! Firstly my mother stayed here for three years and now I asked for my mum in law to reside here at Rodwell House, everywhere is bright and airy, the bedrooms are all lovely whether large or smaller, they have everything that you need.
The cleanliness is second to none.
My mum looks so much brighter now rather than living on her own and she never wanted to go into a home but Rodwell is not like the older type homes that she had to put her mum in.
The staff are great too always approachable, always smiling.

Quite frankly I would love to reside at Rodwell if I couldn't look after myself.

We could not be happier with the service and care provided to mum by Rodwell House. All the staff, from nursing care to office staff to cleaners are friendly, helpful and respectful. Mums room is comfortable, clean and homely. She is encouraged to make it her own with photos and ornaments from home and we are always made welcome when we visit. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My aunt has been living at Rodwell House for just over a year now. Prior to her move to Rodwell, she was a very independent lady, and I find it remarkable that she has settled in so well. I live a couple of hours' drive away, so am not in and out of the home as often as some. I found it deeply reassuring that this weekend, quite unprompted, my aunt said she couldn't ask for a better place to live.
The staff are very friendly, and are quick to help with any queries.

It would be good if there were more activities for residents at the weekends, though I do understand this is the most popular time for families and friends to visit.

"I am 88 years old and would be quite unable to provide the excellent care my slightly older friend receives."

I am told the above is too short but I do not feel the need to say anything more than all the questions I have answered.

Excellent first impression and lovely rooms and garden. Day staff are competent and caring, but under too much pressure to attend to residents quickly. Night staff had a less positive attitude and were not as well-trained. The food excellent, entertainment was varied. The majority of staff were pleasant and respectful. A pleasure to visit, and financially in line with other care homes. This was a good stepping stone for my husband on his way to regaining mobility and coming home permanently.

My first time visit. Staff were warm and friendly to both residents and visitors alike. Premises very clean and secure. facilities very good. I would welcome self help tea and coffee for visitors in the communal room, subject to safety considerations for residents. Staff I know would have and do provide if asked but they were busy serving lunch and caring for residents and so it seemed a little selfish to ask.

I would like to thank all the staff for their exceptional care and professionalism in looking after my mother who had severe dementia. Their dedication and sincere care was there to see every time I went to see her and I am so glad she was able to live her limited life in the comfort that she always received. Thank you to two staff members amongst the others - and another staff member in particular at the end - for easing the suffering both for my mother and my sister and I. From the bottom of my heart - thank you!

The general impression from other family members and friends including my own is that the residents are always clean and reasonably well dressed, albeit not always in their own clothes in our experience. The staff are all lovely and seem to really care which would have been difficult to maintain during the high staff turnover period following Brexit. The finance department were particularly accommodating when the time came to sell my Mothers property - a whole different experience form that provided by the local Council, for sure!

The only bad taste i am left with after more than 5 years was the disappearance of my Mothers wedding ring which particularly upset my sister very badly and we felt that this was not properly investigated or concluded satisfactorily.

Overall Experience
When we first looked around Rodwell House it compared very favourably with others we'd seen. As a modern purpose-built home it simply doesn't compare with older buildings which have been adapted. The care suites are large and airy and the communal areas are spotless. We regularly see the entrance hall carpet being cleaned (not just hoovered).
Mum is bedbound but the built-in hoist and nursing chairs mean she can be taken downstairs for a sociable lunch and to enjoy the entertainment. She adores the pet therapy sessions! We were encouraged to make Mum's room her own by taking in belongings to personalise it. The kitchenette in her room means we can make our own drinks and sit in her comfy chairs for a natter, we know other visitors have a meal with her in the lounge - the flexibility is great.

The staff are all extremely friendly to residents and visitors alike - and that includes housekeeping, laundry and catering staff too. There is definitely a can do culture.

My mother was 98 and had dementia. She was looked after very well and treated very kindly by the staff. She was allowed to be herself and she was listened to.

She enjoyed the food, the gardens and some of the activities. She had a great sense of humour and often laughed with the staff.

I have seen my Mum, Dad, and now husband cared for at Rodwell, and overall I have been very pleased with the care, professionalism, and support I have received. Many of the staff in particular have been extremely kind over very difficult times, and I always felt I could ask questions or for help.

I would recommend Rodwell to others if needed.

The care shown by the nursing staff was excellent, even when Mum was challenging. Some staff she was very fond of. the accommodation was adequate given Mum's condition, however, I did raise a concern about the cleanliness of the bathroom on one occasion, which was promptly rectified. It would be useful if food could be readily available for end-of-life patients with dementia, as they don't always understand the idea of having to wait for set meal times. Overall would recommend Rodwell to those thinking of using it. Family support was exemplary.
