Overlooking The Golden Valley and set in 5 acres, Crest Lodge is a large, detached Bargate stone manor located in Hindhead, within walking distance from the amenities of Beacon Hill Village. The beautiful Yorkstone mansion is set amongst five acres of woodland, offering residents picturesque views.

Crest Lodge was originally built as a maternity hospital in the 1930s, before being acquired by CHD Living in 1994.

The home is owned by CHD Living and provides accommodation and nursing care for up to 47 adults with mental health needs. All bedrooms are single, and all have en-suite facilities.

In addition to nursing and residential care, Crest Lodge also supports respite and end-of-life care. The dedicated team also offers nursing care for a range of specialist conditions - including Parkinson's Disease, those living with dementia and brain injury.

Residents can enjoy a wide range of services - including the use of a lounge, two dining rooms and a designated smoking room. The home has its own transport to support residents, allowing them access to the local and wider community.

The bungalow is self-contained and located within the grounds of Crest Lodge. It contains two bedrooms for service users who wish, and are able with support, to live more independently, but can still access the main units for meals or support as required.

Residents have access to a range of facilities, including a Valley Lounge overlooking the mini farm, a gym and quiet lounge.

Original interiors create a unique aesthetic, with characteristic features including stained glass windows, original tiled flooring, a vaulted ceiling and an oak staircase.

At Crest Lodge, the skilled team of carers strives to deliver high-quality care in a friendly environment, with the ultimate goal to transform peoples' lives for the better. Goal set care planning is offered, too, for adults over the age of 18 with enduring mental health.

Due to COVID and health, sadly we have not been able to see our relative since 2020. The staff have been good over the phone. We were delighted to see her looking so well and conversing and singing with us. Her appearance was good, her health much improved. Walking through the corridors to her room
everywhere looked and smelt fresh and clean.
There were no complaints from my relative concerning food etc. The Sunday staff were helpful friendly and polite.

The second function my mother, myself and daughter have attended. A wonderful array of food and drink, all delicious, nothing was too much trouble for the staff looking after this area.
My brother is very happy in the home, he is so well looked after. The wonderful staff are great always caring and
interacting with the residents.
A great Christmas party today, the singing and music was enjoyed by all. Five stars for Crest Lodge.

My aunt has been a resident for twenty years due to long-term health issues. She has always been happy at Crest Lodge Care Home and staff know her well. My aunt has always been treated as an individual and is part of the family there.
Recently her health deteriorated and she was virtually unresponsive,
we thought she was approaching her final days. However, excellent, full care has resulted in a massive improvement and she was able to recognise us on our last visit and even played a verbal game briefly!
We are her closest family and although two hours away, we would never move our aunt from her home.

My mum has been at Crest Lodge Care Home for over a year. She has incredibly complex care needs and the team at Crest Lodge have worked really hard to get her settled and provide quality care, which in mum's case is a thankless task. They've been patient and kind and kept me and my sister updated with
her situation. We feel very lucky to know Mum is being looked after. The whole team work really hard and we feel very grateful for them all.

I visit regularly and always find Crest Lodge Care Home a great place for my sister to feel at home and I appreciate how well she is cared for. The manager and staff took great care of her when she needed extra help and reassurance after coming back from hospital earlier this year and it really helped
her to settle comfortably again.
Crest Lodge has a pleasant atmosphere and the residents are able to sit inside or outside with their books or whatever and just relax and enjoy what they like doing and there is always a member of staff not too far away if they need anything.

My sister has been at Crest Lodge for over ten years. She has always received outstanding care from all the staff - an incredible achievement! The main thing is she feels loved and cared for and knows that she can go to the staff at any time for help. This is massively reassuring for the family. The
nursing staff, led by the manager, are exceptionally skilled. Special mention must go to the manager and deputy and all the nurses for their willingness to go the extra mile in their efforts to do the absolute best for every resident. This includes supporting the relative sometimes as well! As well as the nursing staff, the administrative staff, carers, activities organisers, cleaners and cooks are without exception the very best. I am so grateful to each and every one of you for creating a home for my sister where she is loved and supported so well through her long-term illness.

I think considering I have had many difficulties over the years since I have been here from August 2012 and in the last 2 years, I have improved enough that I am now looking at options to live independently. This would not have been likely if it wasn't for the permanent staff/agency staff who have been
here long term and knew me at my worst/extreme behaviour issues.
I have not enough words to describe how much thanks and gratitude I should give to them because they deserve a far lot more than that. Which leads me to make one more point - they do not get paid enough! They don't thank or appreciated from people in the care home or higher up the system like a head office and others. I was not told to say this it's how I see and feel about it.

Crest Lodge is an exceptional care home. The staff are compassionate and supportive to both residents and their families. Crest Lodge staff do their utmost best to keep their residents safe and have an enjoyable day. They have helped my brother in many ways as he has complex needs. They identify his
needs and call for support/ambulance very early on, which I am certain has saved his life. I would like to thank the staff that work here and definitely recommend it.

I am always made very welcome at Crest Lodge and treated with great courtesy. I am impressed by the kindness and perseverance of staff in treating my sister, whose behaviour can be challenging. Not only do they take careful measures to ensure her safety but creatively try to improve her quality of life
and show her warmth and affection. They do a wonderful job looking after her.

My visit to the home last week to see my brother. I was very happy to see how well my brother is being looked after. He has been in Chest Lodge for a long time, my visit before August 2018 was a little while ago, due to my husband's ill health. I was not always happy with some of the look of the home,
but I must say I was very impressed this time. The home smelt lovely and looked very clean. The staff were very kind, helpful and made me and my husband welcome with trays of tea and cake, as it was someone's birthday. Well done to all at Chest Lodge.

Today as always I was received by friendly, welcoming staff.
I was offered refreshment and time was taken to brief me so we can work together to try to influence some challenging situations to provide the best outcome for my brother.
I only visit every 2/3 weeks so I feel comforted that the right
care is provided and I am always contacted if necessary.
I am always invited and briefed on any visits from professional.
It is very helpful that many of the staff have been there for a considerable length of time and I have developed a real relationship with them.

My sister is a resident of Crest Lodge a home for adults with mental conditions. She is well cared for and though unable to communicate, has a good rapport with the staff. The home is well maintained, clean and tidy. Lots of activities are arranged and those able to go out are taken on visits and outings.
Relatives
are always welcomed when visiting.
Each resident has an en-suite room with availability for their own things. Management keeps relatives up to date with changes and includes them in arrangements for activities ect. Any issues with my sister is notified to me by phone. Security and safety is a major consideration and I feel Crest Lodge has it covered. I am satisfied with her care.

Staff are always welcoming and willing to answer any questions. Meals are provided and kitchen and dining spaces are clean and tidy. Welcome to Crest Lodge; a home-away-from-home for both our residents and staff.


Overlooking the Golden Valley, our home is set in a peaceful location. I’m proud of our dedicated team of carers who always strive to offer person-centred care, and encourage our residents to live their lives to the full.


In addition to nursing and residential care, we also support respite and end-of-life care. Our care at Crest Lodge focuses particularly on the mental health challenges of young people.
